The Gulper is a retired Aquatic Petpet introduced on August 29, 2001. Gulpers love to make music by inhaling large amounts of air and blowing it out of the airhole on top of their heads

Old Gulper

An old Gulper

When the Aquatic Petpets fled Maraqua and took refuge on Mystery Island, they were all redrawn. This meant that they either just were drawn up to date with Neopets' new looks and kept their original name and appearance, or were completely redesigned and given a new look and name. The Gulper is the only exception, as it did get a redesign, but kept its old name. Its old whale-like design is slightly referred to in its description.

It is not impossible to still own the old design Gulper. Any Petpet who was attached to a Neopet at the time of the change will stay the same until it is removed. This means only a very few people still have an old design Gulper.

Trivia

• A Gulpfir is created when a Gulper and a Fir are mixed in the Cooking Pot.
• The Gulper body design is based on the anglerfish.
