The Fountain Faerie is a Water Faerie who runs the Rainbow Fountain found in Faerieland. She is sometimes unofficially referred to as the Rainbow Faerie because of her affiliation with the Rainbow Fountain.
The Fountain Faerie is often confused with the Water Faerie, who requests books and rewards you by raising the defence of one of your Neopets. You will not receive access to the Rainbow Fountain if you complete a Water Faerie Quest.
Quests
The Fountain Faerie Quest is the rarest of all quests. The only way to get one is through a Random Event. If you get a quest, she will require you to fetch her a random item, which is usually very valuable, though not always. As a reward for completing it, the Fountain Faerie will allow you to paint one Neopet almost any colour. There are seven colours you can not choose: Royal, Robot, MSP, Ice, Sponge, Usuki, and Quiguki. Until you have completed a Fountain Faerie Quest, the Rainbow Fountain will not work.
Because of the rising cost of Paint Brushes the Fountain Faerie is often a lot cheaper than other options to change the colour of your pet. For this reason her quests are often anticipated by the players.
Suggestions and Notes
- Compare the cost of the item you need to give the Fountain Faerie to the cost of the Paint Brush before you decide whether you would like to complete the quest.
- You can paint any of your four pets. You can even create a new pet to be painted.
- Have the pet you want set as your active pet before you go visit her, as that is the pet that will be painted.
- Painting a Buzz any colour will get you the Buzzin' avatar.
- You may take as long as you like to return to the Fountain Faerie with the item. There is no time limit.
- You may take as long as you like to decide what colour you would like before you paint your pet after you complete the quest but, if you get a second Fountain Faerie Quest, you need to paint a pet before you complete the second quest.
Differences Between the Fountain Faerie and a Water Faerie
- Appearance: The Fountain Faerie has blue streaks in her hair, blue make-up, and is sitting on her tail. Water Faeries are draped in pearls and surrounded with bubbles.
- Quests: The Fountain Faerie can ask for almost any type of item and the rarity of the item is always between 94 and 96. Water Faeries only ask for books with a rarity under 69.
- Reward: The Fountain Faerie allows you one use of the Rainbow Fountain. Water Faeries increase a random pet's strength by two.
