Moehogs are warthog- or boar-like Neopets first released on 5 July 2000. They were initially a Limited Edition Neopet, but were made available for anyone to adopt after the Arrival of Virtupets plot on 29 August the same year, where a colony of Moehogs were found on the Space Station. They are originally from the mountainous regions of Neopia where they were bred as livestock, and used by Skeiths to carry loads for them.
Young Moehogs have snorting contests with each other to try and make the most noise and the biggest cloud of dust.
Moehogs have cloven hooves and tusks, and keep their hair in a mohawk. They are fast Neopets who are eager to help others. In the Neopets Trading Card Game, the are associated with the element of Dark.
Battledome
In the Battledome, Moehogs do not have any natural resistances, but they do have six species abilities:
- Moehog Kick - Attack: 1 - 2 x Physical; Defence: none; available from level 1;
- Moehog Ram - Attack: 2 x Earth, 2 x Light; Defence: none; available from level 14;

- Moehog Shield - Attack: none; Defence: none; available on Moehog Day only;
- Moehog Fire - Attack: 2 x Darkness, 2 x Fire; Defence: none; available on Moehog Day only;
- Moehog Lightning - Attack: 2 x Air, 2 x Fire, 2 x Light; Defence: none; available on Moehog Day only.
There are also sixteen pieces of equipment that can only be used by Moehogs.
