Asparagus is an inside joke within Neopets, as it's a favourite vegetable for Adam Powell, one of the lead creators of the website. There are many asparagus related items, including several weapons, and a Chia can be coloured asparagus as well. Most notable of course was on Adam's birthday in Year 6, when all neopets were turned into Asparagus Chia. It is also an item that can be created in the Cooking Pot with a Magic Potion and Sunflower Seeds.
