Peophins are seahorse-like Neopets originally released February 10, 2000. Peophins are considered to be rare and magical Neopets that seldom mix with other species. Rumours that they bring good fortune and happiness to those around them are enhanced by their secretive and shy natures. Many stories tell of Neopets hopelessly lost at sea but rescued by a Peophin, most likely Venuquin the Guide.

Peophins were the first Limited Edition Neopet, but were later made available for all owners. In the Neopets Trading Card Game, they are associated with the element of Water.

Battledome

In the Battledome, Peophins have a 20% resistance to water and 10% resistance to earth attacks. They have three species abilities:

Peophin Trample - Attack: 1 - 2 x Physical; Defence: none; available from level 3;
Peophin Dive - Attack: none; Defence: 2 x Water, 2 x Earth; available from level 13;
Peophin Splash - Attack: 2 - 3 x Light, 2 - 3 x Water; Defence: none; available from level 20;

There are also eighteen pieces of equipment that can only be used by a Peophin.
