Illusen's Glade is Illusen the Earth Faerie's home in Meridell. It was opened with the Discovery of Meridell on 30 July 2002, although a few users found their way to it earlier than that. When players visit Illusen, they have the option of completing a Quest for her by obtaining an item for her, with prizes depending on the level attained, mirroring the way quests from Jhudora's Cloud work.
Overview
If a quest is accepted, the player has 16 minutes 40 seconds to find the item Illusen requests. The item can be obtained through any means - bought over the Shop Wizard or Trading Post, sent as a gift from a Neofriend, etc. Upon completion, the difficulty level of the next quest will increase. There are 50 levels of quests to complete, which Illusen rewards the player with a special item (every two or three quests). The value of the items increase as the player approaches the later levels. Should a player start a quest and not return with the item in time or be unable to find the item (common in higher leveled quests), the player's quest level will be set back to Level 1 and they must start over from the beginning. When a player chooses to do a Illusen's Glade quest, Jhudora will refuse to offer the user a quest for the next 12 hours, just as Illusen will do if the player does a Jhudora's Cloud quest. A player may accept one quest every 12 hours.
Scoring for High Score List
Whenever a player completes a quest for Illusen they get a score based on how quickly they return with the item. Every quest completed gets added to the total, increasing their high score within the month the quests are started. Because all High Score Lists are reset on the 1st of every Month, a player can only add to their High Score within that month. For this reason, many players who want the Illusen's Glade Trophy will start an Illusen Quest on the first of the month and keep doing them every 12 hours until they get the Trophy they want.
List of rewards
Level 1 - Illusens Cream Cookie
Illusens Cream Cookie is a food item. Because the cookie is rewarded at such a low level, it can often be bought cheaply from the Shop Wizard, often for less than 10 NP.
Level 3 - Illusens Potion
Illusens Potion is a Magic Item, a once per battle weapon that does two icons of earth and two of light. Because it's so widely available, it can be bought cheaply, but it is considered a weak Battledome weapon and is not frequently used. Fighters usually prefer the slightly more expensive Caustic Potion or Mud Mixture instead.
Level 5 - Illusens Comb
Illusens Comb is a grooming item in the shape of a leaf. It can be used to groom a Neopet and improve it's mood.
Level 8 - Cucumber Eye Cream
Cucumber Eye Cream is a grooming item. It is widely available and can be bought for a low price in user-owned shops.
Level 11 - Illusens Novel
Illusens Novel is a book about the life of Illusen. Because books disappear after being used, Illusens Novel is not as cheap as other early rewards from Illusen, averaging about 1000 NP on the Shop Wizard.
Level 14 - Mud Mixture
Mud Mixture is a Magic Item used in the Battledome. As a once per battle weapon, it does 5 icons of earth damage and heals 1-5 hit points. Because of its healing qualities and its wide availability, it's a favourite among beginners in the Battledome.
Level 17 - Flower Cake
Flower Cake is a food item made widely available due to the high number of them created.
Level 20 - Rain Water Shampoo
Rain Water Shampoo is a grooming item made widely available due to the high number of them created.
Level 23 - Rose Shake
Rose Shake is a food item. Because one must complete a considerable high level quest to get this item, and the fact food items disappear after use (thus diminishing the supply), the Rose Shake cost approximately 300 NP on the Shop Wizard.
Level 26 - Earth Spell Book
Earth Spell Book is a book tells of the spells the ancient Earth Faeries used to use. Because it is attained only through doing a considerable amount of quests, and the nature of book items, it runs about 2000 NP on the Shop Wizard.
Level 29 - Leaf Shield
The Leaf Shield is a Defence Magic item, and is a classic shield for lower level or budget-minded fighters. It blocks fives icons of earth and three of physical, both very common icons at low levels. It also blocks five icons of water, which isn't very common in the Battledome. It doesn't block fire, light, dark, or air, so it shouldn't be too heavily depended on, but it can still give the user an extra edge at the end of a battle. It is priced at about 8,000 NP on the Shop Wizard, due to the fame it's gained in the Battledome. During wars, however, its price can soar well over 30,000 NP.
Level 32 - Illusens Earth Potion
Illusens Earth Potion is a Magic Item used in the Battledome, doing 6 earth and 1-3 physical icons of damage once per battle. Averaging about 1500 NP on the Shop Wizard, its solid attack and fairly low price (due to its availability) means it is usually one of the first bomb weapon a new Battledome user will equip. A downside of Illusens Earth Potion is, that it is very vulnerable to the low cost Leaf Shield, another item common with low level battlers for the exact same reason as Illusens Earth Potion. Only one may be equipped at a time.
Level 35 - Honey Potion
The Honey Potion is a Magic Item used in the Battledome. Honey Potion is essentially an Illusens Earth Potion with twice as much earth icons, dealing 13 earth and 1-3 icons of damage. The Honey Potion suffers from similar problems as Illusens Earth Potion, in that the Leaf Shield, commonly used even by low-level pets, will reduce the Honey Potion to only eight earth icons of damage. For this reason the Honey Potion is usually reserved for after freezing an opponent, in order to guarantee a solid hit.
The Honey Potion is too expensive to be sold in user shops and is valued at around 800,000 NP on the Trading Post. Its expense is due to the fact that it's one of the most popular bomb weapons for advanced users of the Battledome, and it comes in small supply due to the high level needed to be rewarded it. It's considered cost-effective however, and is still much cheaper than the Ghostkerbomb or Rainbow Clockwork Grundo, which are a step after the Honey Potion.
Because freezing an opponent and using two Honey Potions the next turn became such a common tactic in the Battledome, users are only allowed to equip one Honey Potion to any one Neopet at any one time.
Level 38 - Illusens Scroll
Illusens Scroll is a book written by Illusen herself, telling of her many adventures. Because books disappear after one use and the high level it takes to be rewarded this item, Illusens Scroll is expensive, selling for approximately 800,000 NP in the Trading Post.
Level 41 - Illusens Blade
Illusens Blade is a Battle Magic item, dealing 5 earth and 1-6 physical icons of damage in the Battledome. The amount of damage it does is random, but the results fall onto a nice bell curve, averaging 8.29 icons of damage. There are a number of problems with this weapons. It does earth icons, which are common and commonly blocked. The weapons is also too sporadic, while other weapons at a similar price can consistently deal 10-12 icons of damage. The Portable Kiln, a weapon in the same price range, does a constant 11 icons of fire.
Because one must complete such a high level quest to receive Illusens Blade, it is very expensive, going for over one million Neopoints. This weapon is overpriced due to rarity, especially with the rise of 9-iconers for under 100k, but if it can be found for about half it's price it might be worth a buy.
Level 44 - Leaf Taco
The Leaf Taco is a food item. It is a rare and hard to find food both because it is hard to complete such a high quest level for Illusen and because it is a gourmet food.
Level 47 - Illusens Orb Plant
Illusens Orb Plant is a gardening item. Because it is so hard to get to quest 47, the plant is very expensive, and rarely seen in the Trading Post.
Level 50 - Illusens Staff
Illusens Staff is a Battle Magic item and one of Illusen's most potent weapons. Illusen allows only her most worthy friends to use it, and is only rewarded for completing her final quest at Level 50. Due to the expense of getting to that level, it's close to impossible to ontain. Very few of this item exist at any one time, causing their price to be well over 600 million Neopoints.
Illusens Staff attacks for 13 earth icons and 1-6 physical, for a maximum of 19 icons of damage. It heals 20% of the users maximum HP when it is in the red. Although this weapon does heal, it does not take up a healing slot. The defence of the weapon is complicated. It will block all dark icons, but should the user receive light icons at the same time, these will damage the user, in addition to 25% of these light icons, as dark icons. 75% of these light icons, as dark icons, will be reflected against one's opponent (similar to Jhudoras Wand).
It is rarely seen in the Battledome because of its rarity, and as one could buy a top-level battledome weapon set for the price of the staff.
