Neggs are Neopet items - generally food or battledome weapons - that resemble eggs, but have stems, suggesting that they are grown from plants. There are two general categories for neggs: neggs that may be exchangeable for Negg Tokens, and neggs that can be bought at the Neggery with Negg Tokens.
Regular neggs can be bought at the Food Shop in Neopia Central. Most, but not all of these neggs can be exchanged at the Neggery for a set number of Negg Tokens. The penultimate of these is the Fish Negg, a retired Negg worth 50 Neggpoints. Neggs that can be purchased from the Neggery have varying prices (up to a few hundred).
Negg Effects
Some Neggs have unique results when fed to your Neopet or when used in the Battledome. The effects of many neggs are not absolutely certain due to generally high costs preventing experimentation.

Blue Furry Negg | Heals 5 hit points outside the Battledome when eaten. | |
Cackling Negg | Gives the Neopet who eats it the Shadow Health ability, regardless of level. | |
Christmas Tree Negg | Heals 20 HP outside of the Battledome when eaten. | |
Confusionegg | Gives a Neopet the Psychic ability regardless of level. | |
Cool Negg | Gives you 1-2 level, 1-3 Max Hit Points, 1-3 Movement Point, and 1-3 Strength Points to a Neopet when eaten. | |
Cracked Negg | Battledome weapon which heals 3 HP, takes away 3 HP, or attacks with 6 icons (3 light and 3 dark) once per battle. | |
Crystal Negg | Heals 8 HP when eaten outside of the Battledome. | |
Evil Negg | A single use Battledome weapon (1 physical 3 Dark). | |
Faerie Queen Negg | +1 HP max when eaten. | |
Ferocious Negg | Gives a pet 1-3 Strength and a random disease. | |
Fireball Negg | Single use Battledome weapon (4 Fire). | |
Genius Negg | Gives one random book when eaten and increases intelligence. | |
Ghost Negg | Before eating, a message appearing saying: 'The Ghost Negg scares you with a loud BOO!'. There doesn't seem to be any other effect than this. It's rumoured that it can take away HP, but this is unconfirmed. | |
Glamour Negg | Gives Gold Mirror, Gold Hairbrush or Blue Pteri Morphing Potion, and decreases Intelligence by 1 point. | |
Happy Negg | Makes a Neopet happier after eating it. (Previously known as the Happiness Negg) |
