The Lupe is a wolf or dog-like Neopet, released on January 13, 2000, as a selection from a "create-a-pet" compitition. Brave and loyal, though sometimes a little over confident, Lupes enjoy adventuring to new territories with their friends.

Lupes are common characters in Neopian Games and Plots, having one of the largest impacts on the world of Neopets.

• As of September 5, 2007, 10.7 million Lupes have been created, placing them in 4th out of 54 Neopets in popularity. They are also featured in 161 different items.
• Revealed to the world on January 13, 2000 as a selection from the Create a Pet Competition along side the Elephante.
• Lupe Day is on May 2nd.
• The name "Lupe" comes from the latin word lupus, meaning wolf.
• Lupes are commonly used for intermediate level battling because of the Iron Lupe Sword and Ancient Lupe Wand.
• The relationship of the Lupe and Chia is uncertain, but there are Lupe Treats in the shape of Chias for Lupes to eat (along with ither Chia shaped Food), and when they play with a Chia Plushie, it breaks. When you have a Lupe and Chia Neopet, the Chia seems to be unhappy. Hubrid Nox also created a specially designed Battledome Equipment which does extra damage to Lupes. Also there is a special species weapon for Lupes called Lupe Chia Bomb which deals extra damage to Chias.
• In Neopets TCG, lupes are often associated with the element of Earth.
