The Turtum

The Turtum is a stout, loyal Meridellian Petpet, similar to a tortoise, released on 30th July 2002.

Overview

They enjoy playing Ultimate Bullseye in the evenings - indeed, a Turtum was featured in Ultimate Bullseye as the operator of the ballista, a role reprised in its successor game, Ultimate Bullseye II.

Turtums also appeared Neopets: The Darkest Faerie as a device to enable the player's character to reach greater heights: when attacked by Tormund or Roberta, the Turtum retreats into its shell. Shortly afterwards, it will return from their shell, and should the player's character be standing on it as it does so, they will spring into the air.

Plot Summary

The Turtum troops were armed with a catapult and operator.

Battle for Meridell

Main Article: Battle for Meridell

Turtums were enlarged - via a potion of Kayla's design - to many times their natural size in order to serve as armoured weapons platforms against Lord Kass' war machines. The use of these Turtum fighters helped push back the approaching front of the Citadel's army, while Jeran led a force to assault the Citadel directly by air.
