Yukio's Welcome

Hello! Welcome to the NeoDex ^_^ Great to have such a vintage Neopian on board :D--Yukio 20:48, 6 Apr 2006 (CDT)

  • I am honoured to have such an... an esteemed member of the PinkPT community greet one so humble as myself. I've known about PinkPT ever since IDB joined with it: phenominal fansite, really. --Macbeth 01:51, 7 Apr 2006 (CDT)

lol rubbish. we're all just peoples really :) hope you've found the site helpful, and it really is great having people on board who know a thing or two ^_^ --Yukio 21:12, 7 Apr 2006 (CDT)

about ImproveNeo

I would like to thank you for being so committed to saying what needed to be said at the ImproveNeo discussion. You have been very committed to the NeoDex, and have been a great help. I thank you.--Jacob 18:24, 16 Apr 2006 (CDT)

Thanks, all in the line of duty, as they say :).
Ditto, I was impressed at your breadth of knowledge :) Keep it up!--Yukio 13:48, 29 May 2006 (CDT)
Ta very much duck. As they unfortunatly say in the region of my birth ;). I think a Neopets encyclopaedia is an absolutely brilliant idea: it certainly gives opertunity to record the happenings of the extensive - and to some extent, personal - goings on of Neopets.com. We can't let it all be forgotten now, can we? --Macbeth 17:48, 29 May 2006 (CDT)

Knitting Patterns

And I quote: "Similarly, fan mail, ... knitting patterns, photographs of embroidery, etc, can all be sent to me by use of the aforementioned Talk page." And so... I've found some devilishly charming knitting patterns for you. Might I suggest a lovely Loch Ness Monster? Or perhaps a clown? Then again, the Toasty Pocket Creatures are almost impossible to pass up, as is the Stuffed Brain Slug. I don't know how I'd decide if I were you. Have fun knitting! --Mirmadon 21:05, 5 Jun 2006 (CDT)

You will be missed alright. Enjoy your break, and catch up on things. will be awaiting your return. Good luck! *thumbs up* --Jacob 15:44, 24 Jun 2006 (CDT)

*Licks* Korewa Yukio-kun desu! MacBeth, hayaku genki ni naruyo! --Unsigned by 70.36.213.198 23:52, 13 Jul 2006--

Erm... Thanks. I think... Whatever language that was in, I do not know it :S. --Macbeth 16:15, 14 Jul 2006 (CDT)

Sysop Powers Gained

I have asked Yukio to give you admin powers to help you expand and control the NeoDex a little better. i hope you don't mind i did that. *scratches head* ;) --Jacob 12:36, 18 Aug 2006 (CDT)

Hey Jacob :). Just got back from a trip to italy. Wow, I have so many tabs now ;P. Thanks a lot, I really appreciate it :). --Macbeth 16:37, 24 Aug 2006 (CDT)

BATTLE OF THE CENTURY...?

Alright, i'll bite. what's with the battle of the century? It gave me a good laugh, and i'm curious to know what prompted that. :D --Jacob 12:53, 27 Aug 2006 (CDT)

Well, I can never claim to be completely normal... :P. Basically, when I saw the new Achyfi on the New Features Page, it reminded me of them (when I had first started, a friend kept on sending me Achyfi :P) and I realised the Neodex didn't have an article on them. So, I wrote the article, and I was thinking about other lines of items that have enough cultural significance to be written about - this is not, after all, a database of all items. As it happens, I have a fairly extensive gallery devoted to berries, so Juppies sprung to mind immediately. After I had started the Juppie page (you will recall I had the Achyfi: "Drink of the Gods" already on my user page by this time), an idea sort of... Fermented in my mind, based in part the BotD intro :P. So, a short fiddle around had produced the little display on my user page (which is as good a display as there ever was there, I was getting tired of the "Miss me, won't you?" era anyway :P)... It just sort of escalated :P. Who knows where it's gonna go from here? --Macbeth 13:24, 27 Aug 2006 (CDT)

When the Battle of the Dung comes to a close, would you like to try your shot at filling it in with such things? I know you mentioned putting up recipes as well, which i think it pretty neat. seeing as you now have admin powers, you can edit it to your liking (as long as the coding stays within the blue box set there...could be edited to accomadate perhaps). --Jacob 13:48, 27 Aug 2006 (CDT)

Yeah, I'd love to :¬D. That would be great. --Macbeth 16:39, 27 Aug 2006 (CDT)

Framing the Image

Thanks for framing the image Macbeth ^_^ I was wondering how to do it.--Yukio 11:36, 10 Oct 2006 (CDT)

Not a problem ;). Incidentally, were you the one to start that page off (58.165.59.30)? Whoever it was, they picked up a lot of information very quickly :P. --Macbeth 11:44, 10 Oct 2006 (CDT)

Yeah it was me :) It was hard keeping the page updated in an HTML file so I thought a dynamic WIKI page would be a lot easier. Over 100 staff positions at PPT @_@ --58.165.59.30 17:59, 10 Oct 2006 (CDT)

Link in template BattleInfo

If you insert a link in a template, the template just shows things like "Found by: {{{7}}}". That's why I removed the link to the Tiki Tack shop in the article about Tiki Tack Man.--Demon 02:43, 25 Dec 2006 (CST)

I figured out what the problem is: The template can't read the "=" symbol, and isn't registering the coding as a proper link. will need to figure out a way to fix this. :o --Jacob 10:13, 25 Dec 2006 (CST)

Ah, I see... Do what you usually do when using special characters in a URL, I suppose. I'll have a look. --Macbeth 14:08, 25 Dec 2006 (CST)

Scratch that. Doesn't work. --Macbeth 14:35, 25 Dec 2006 (CST)

I recently found on the German Wikipedia a solution. You have to put a "7=" before the place where to find the opponent. See here.--Demon 02:23, 7 Jan 2007 (CST)

Oh, well done... I'll add that into NeoDex:Templates. --Macbeth 04:08, 7 Jan 2007 (CST)

Thank you. :) And NeoDex:Templates says you have to use {{TNT}} for the wheels-template, would you change this?--Demon 05:15, 7 Jan 2007 (CST)

Wow...good find Himmelsdemon. Now i'm stuck wondering why the "7=" doesn't appear in the link along with the rest of the coding. *falls flat on my face* --Jacob 07:43, 7 Jan 2007 (CST)

I think it is considered a part of the template. You normally use the BattleInfo as following: {{BattleInfo|value1|value2|value3|...|value7}}. But you could also write {{BattleInfo|1=value1|2=value2|3=value3|...|7=value7}} or even

{{BattleInfo
|1=value1
|2=value2
|...
|7=value7}}

So it is the same thing like the "Replacement=" in the Infobox RetiredGame.--Demon 10:16, 7 Jan 2007 (CST)

"And NeoDex:Templates says you have to use {{TNT}} for the wheels-template [...]"
You're very good at pointing out where the rest of us have fallen on our face! Heh, I'll change it now. You are correct in your interpretation of template variables:

"Some templates have variables [...] On certain templates, numerical variables are used and the variable name can be omitted, providing the information is entered in the correct order."

Thanks

Thanks for the welcome! --RJ 13:57, 27 Jan 2007 (CST)

Zero Tolerance = AWESOME!

Good idea on creating the Zero Tolerance template. this way we can weed out the spammers from the legitimate editors...wasn't that hard to begin with though. :D Again, good thinking. --Jacob 18:37, 2 Mar 2007 (CST)

*bows* I do my best. --Macbeth 19:11, 2 Mar 2007 (CST)
