M-W is an exclusively American dictionary, I understand... in any case, I meant to type 'cat'''''e'''''gorise', sorry! [http://dictionary.reference.com/search?r=2&q=categorise categorise @ reference.com], [http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/categorise categorise @ wiktionary.org]. Would have noticed had I not included bold and italic wikicode, sorry. --[[User:Macbeth|Macbeth]] 10:44, 31 Jan 2007 (CST)

Plot characters?

Taking the initiative, i decided to move the discussion that was occuring on Vahalla bound's talk page here: As stated, i'm hesitant to using the "plot characters" category, as it seems to broad and not very helpful. I proposed two different ideas, which would slim down on what we are organizing.

  1. Label specific character categories, such as "Champions of Meridell Characters", which would include
  2. Make broad subject categories, such as "Champions of Meridell", which would include all articles which had something do with with the Champions of Meridell plot (characters, locations, shops, items, etc.).

Hoping to come to a conclusion with this, as i do believe users would like the idea of being able to connect all the information dealing with a specific plot easily. --Jacob 07:25, 10 Jan 2007 (CST)

Going the "Champions of Meridell" root makes more sense to me because once we make it, if we find that a "Champions of Meridell Characters" category is needed it would be easy to make a subcategory for each larger plot. Speaking of subcategorization would each plot be it's own category or would they all be subcategories under Category:Plots? Vahalla bound 18:15, 11 Jan 2007 (CST)

Should a category like "Champions of Meridell" be created, it would be a subcategory of "Plots" (as "Champions of Meridell Characters" would be a subcategory to "Champions of Meridell"...and "Characters", which is an entirely different matter). --Jacob 21:32, 11 Jan 2007 (CST)

With the creation of "Neopets: The Darkest Faerie" and "NeoQuest I", it's safe to say this will be the method of sorting out characters in these plots. As an example, King Skarl would be part of the categories "Champions of Meridell," "Battle for Meridell," "NeoQuest II," and "Neopets: The Darkest Faerie." Sound good? --Jacob 19:08, 30 Jan 2007 (CST)

On ordering categories

This article was created from the prompt of Macbeth who asked me to show how i think categories should be ordered, due to the fact no rules have been made on the subject. As such, it's a work in progress, which can be seen in the incomplete article. It's proper to lay down the rules of how the categories should be ordered on an article, and if they should be ordered (i think they should, as it's better than chaos). All thoughts on how this should be done are welcome. --Jacob 22:13, 10 Jan 2007 (CST)

NeoQuest categories

in my latest edit of this article, i've decided on a change that has been bugging me since the creation of named categories: the current categories of NeoQuest articles are misspelled. "Neoquest" is misspelled, and doesn't really mention if it's for 1 or 2. "Neoquest II" clears the ambiguity, but it's still misspelled. Just wanted to mention this as i have plans to eventually create the properly spelled categories, as categories cannot be renamed or moved like other articles, just created and deleted.

On another note - 3 big discussions created by me in the same talk page and under 24 hours? how about that... :o --Jacob 23:15, 10 Jan 2007 (CST)

I've created the "NeoQuest I" category, so if you are editting an article related to it, be sure to add the category for it. ;) --Jacob 19:08, 30 Jan 2007 (CST)

Move
