An spooky [[Pteri]] who flies the skies of [[Neopia]]. Similar to a raven or a crow. Available to fight in the [[Battledome]].
[[Image:Contestant523.gif|right|frame|The Black Pteri.]]'''The Black Pteri''' is an ominous black [[Pteri]] and one of the many [[1-player challenger|challengers]] that can be fought in the [[Battledome]].   He is often found perching on fences or trees, spouting vague omens telling of an approaching disaster. His appearance and macabre nature were inspired by the [[Wikipedia:Raven|raven]] in the [[Wikipedia:Edgar Allan Poe|Edgar Allan Poe]] poem [[Wikipedia:The Raven|The Raven]]. When the Black Pteri was released on August 22, 2003, he was introduced with the following quote from the famous poem:
