How does one go about creating a template?  I have an idea for helping wikify the characters such as Abigail, AAA, the faeries, etc.  It would consist of a name, image, species or type, age, occupation, hobbies, quotes, etc. This would allow for cleaner articles with all the basics listed near the top.  For example: see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neopets for the type of box I am thinking of. Obviously this is not accurate for a character. --[[User:Mom2twinzz|mom2twinzz]] 15:06, 17 Mar 2008 (CDT)mom2twinzz

:You can create a template the same way you create any article that isn't created: simply type in the the URL bar the address link you want to create (such as [http://www.pinkpt.com/neodex/index.php/Nuranna http://www.pinkpt.com/neodex/index.php/Nuranna], as of this moment uncreated) and you will be taken to the uncreated article. From there, you can edit and save the first draft. For Templates, you just need to input "Template:" before the article title (such as [http://www.pinkpt.com/neodex/index.php/Template:Main http://www.pinkpt.com/neodex/index.php/Template:Main], a template which has already been created, because I don't want others to create a template from an example).

:On this type of template for an article, it may be a little difficult, because not all the data you would be looking for on a character would be present at the time. Question about templates[edit]

--mom2twinzz 15:06, 17 Mar 2008 (CDT)mom2twinzz

You can create a template the same way you create any article that isn't created: simply type in the the URL bar the address link you want to create (such as http://www.pinkpt.com/neodex/index.php/Nuranna, as of this moment uncreated) and you will be taken to the uncreated article. From there, you can edit and save the first draft. For Templates, you just need to input "Template:" before the article title (such as http://www.pinkpt.com/neodex/index.php/Template:Main, a template which has already been created, because I don't want others to create a template from an example).
On this type of template for an article, it may be a little difficult, because not all the data you would be looking for on a character would be present at the time. It's certainly something to think about, but I wonder if it can be done right now... *ponders* --Jacob 00:10, 24 Mar 2008 (CDT)
