The '''Quiggle''' is a [[wikipedia:frog|frog]]-like [[Neopet]] introduced on 19 April 2000 as the '''Frogstomp''' following a Create-a-Pet competition. It was renamed the Quiggle on 25 July 2000 in conjunction with an art update.

Quiggles have three toes on each foot and four fingers on each hand a large mouth, and round, protruding eyes. They have two stripes going across their back. They are short and stout, unlike [[Nimmos]]. Their first design only had three fingers on each hand.


The '''Quiggle''' is a toad-like [[Neopet]], shorter and stouter amphibians in comparison to the tall and lanky [[Nimmo]]. They are lively and fun to be around, and love to spend all day splashing around in ponds, streams and puddles. Because of their natural love of water they often build their [[Neohome]]s near ponds and rivers. Quiggles enjoy eating fresh vegetables and always have a large stock of carrots, broccoli, and [[asparagus]] nearby. Released on April 19, 2000, the Quiggle was originally called the [[Frogstomp]], and was renamed and designed on July 25, 2000.  
They are carefree Neopets who like to be around water - they love to spend all day splashing around in puddles and will often build their [[NeoHomes]] around rivers or ponds. They like eating fresh vegetables like carrot, broccoli, and [[asparagus]], as typified by [[Quinton]] the [[Health Food Shop]]keeper.  


The physical features of Quiggles include disproportionately large feet with three toes, and hands much smaller compared to their feet. Their hands themselves are the most disputed feature of the Quiggle, as newer models of the quiggle have three fingers while older ones have four fingers. Despite the irregularities, each finger and toe terminates in a circular bobble, adding to the Quiggle's stout appearance. Final touches on the Quiggle design include two hairs on the top of the head, and the wide-set crossed eyes.
The squat Quiggle, with its big grin and often [[wikipedia:strabismus|crossed eyes]], is commonly used for [[wikipedia:comic relief|comic relief]], such as in the [[Quiguki]] [[toy]]s and [[April Fool's]] joke; and [[Old Man Withers]] of the [[Altador Plot]].  


Overall, the Quiggle gives the appearance of being fun and silly, which is perhaps why [[The Neopets Team]] have chosen them to be the "joke" Neopet on many occasions. The [[Quiguki]] [[April Fool's]] joke is a prime example, as is [[Old Man Withers]] of the [[Altador Plot]], who was the president of many clubs which no one could join.
Quiggles will become ill with [[Neezles]] if they are fed any ''cream'' item. In the [[Neopets Trading Card Game]], they are associated with the element of Water.
