Utility Fish is an item type that was retired on August 14, 2001. They are unique in that each item in the Utility fish category has an animated image, displaying the item either in its "fish" form or its item form. They were going to be used in NeoHomes, but The Neopets Team decided to change it. Since then, the Utility Fish which had been created have become rare and expensive.

Trivia[edit]
- It has been written Care of Koi in the Neopian Times Utility fish can be taken apart just like real life utilities. However, it's unknown if this was something the author created or researched.
