By no means a small thing considering the extent "the chans" can go to make peoples lives misreble. They have also been associated with the take down of ebaums world last year, and invading other internet communities. From a recent news posting on Subeta, it seems Longcat has been replaced, so the assault may end...or not. Time will tell. Highly interesting to say the least. --[[User:Jacob|Jacob]] 17:50, 22 May 2007 (CDT) | By no means a small thing considering the extent "the chans" can go to make peoples lives misreble. I really don't understand why they did it, because the item was created as a tribute, as i'm sure the same way Neopets makes items which references things they enjoy. Someone enjoyed longcat enough to make it, but now because of recent events, the chans lose even more fans. Not that i don't think they care. Proposed Merger[edit]
Should this article be merged with List of Useful Tools, or be linked to from it in any case? --Macbeth 12:11, 29 May 2006 (CDT)
- Hmmm...good point. i think linking to it would be good enough. And on the list, i'm thinking perhaps all the smaller articles of the list could perhaps be expanded upon in their main articles (if there is enough data to complete one of course). Should also make mention that this fansite isn't a fansite exactly...perhaps a new category could be made for it and other websites? i recall the name "Graphics Site" being used...i'm open to other votes though.--Jacob 12:29, 29 May 2006 (CDT)
Additional info?[edit]
This article looks rather messed up at the moment, considering the fact the Trivia section is larger than the article by itself. mbif.net hosts a wiki about subeta.org. Well, technically it doesn't at the moment due to some security issues, but it normally does. Does this deserve a mention? Or could we link to the article on their wiki which tells about "Mbif's Backgrounds and more" as soon as the wiki is back online? --Demon 09:55, 22 May 2007 (CDT)
- If you happen to know more about Mbif.net, feel free to edit and add to as needed. I sadly don't know much about the website, and i'm fascinated to hear it hosted a subeta wiki (or used to). Information like this and everything else is welcome on the article. --Jacob 12:04, 22 May 2007 (CDT)
- Thank you. I was a bit afraid to edit as Neodex is mainly a wiki about Neopets, not about Subeta :) I added some data (for example, the fact that mbif is female) which is based on info provided on Subeta. If there are any doubts about it, I can take screenshots and provide them as a proof^^ --Demon 15:35, 22 May 2007 (CDT)
- Oh, and I added a link to Wikibeta despite the fact is is currently offline. I am sure it will go back online within the next time. mbif stated more than once it would return.--Demon 15:40, 22 May 2007 (CDT)
The NeoDex is all about exploring a topic if it has something to do with Neopets, even is some of that information doesn't fully have bearing in Neopets. As an example, NeoItems.net has a GoPets item database. To not mention this in the article would of course be silly and improper, as that's something the website is about. It is the same with this website, whose history, content, and workings can be mentioned, reguardless what they are. --Jacob 17:13, 22 May 2007 (CDT)
Wiki down = Longcat?[edit]
I noticed Demon mentioned something about the subeta wiki being down, and I thought nothing of it until i looked into Subeta information, and i found a wiki article about Keith Kurson. It may be deleted soon, so don't worry on reading it. ;) It's mostly conflicted to begin with, filled with information which could be considered volitale and biased. It appears there was an item called "Longcat", which most fevered internet users associate with "the chan" sites. Due to this, "the chans" have been attacking subeta and other users. Is this the reason for the subeta wiki being down? the "security" reasons? :o

- These conclusions are true. I viewed the Wikipedia article through Google cache and was surprised it was not such biased as other informations I have read on this topic. I didn't mention the Longcat issue earlier becausе I feared Neodex might become an attack target by simply mentioning the Longcat. DDoS attacks caused several fan sites of Subeta (those who were on the SuSho list mentioned in the article) to go offline, regardless whether they stated their opinion on the Longcat issue or not. When the attacks first started, Keith released a load of Longcats to the users through the Subeta counterpart of the Money Tree to taunt the chans. Obviously, this was not a good idea. - It's possible for a section of a website to be down and not the whole, as shown by errors which sometimes occur here at PinkPT (my guess at least). *sigh* I can assume the anger they felt was in part due to longcat being the "property" of the chans (isn't it considered public domain by now?).
