They are of slightly above-average popularity among players.
Zafaras always have three spikes on their back, no more, no less. According to the information on the old zafara petpage, these spikes are apparently protective fins, for defence. Zafaras have an incredible hearing range, but they do not have a good sense of smell. Zataraluck is a example of a neopian Zafara. They were rumored to be Guards of the Fire Faerie due to their first magical ability; Flame. They are awesome in the battledome and if you train him well, he may shower some good luck on you.
