Meercas are energetic and mischievous Neopets released on 7 February 2001. They rarely get caught for their frequent pranks, thanks to their small size and tremendous speed.
Meercas have small bodies with round, mouse-like ears. Their body is connected to a long, flat tail reminiscent of a beaver's. Meercas often support themselves on their tail, which gives them extra height. Mischievous and fun-loving, Meercas have been known to steal toys from other pets. Some Meercas have gone on to commit more large scale thefts - Heermeedjet and Merouladen have stolen King Coltzan III's crown and robbed the Qasalan Treasury.
When painted Maraquan, Meercas resemble a blowfish. In the Neopets Trading Card Game, Meercas are associated with the element of air.
