Text of intro story

Once, there was a great city full of magical portals, from which adventurers searched the far corners of Neopia for exotic treasures. Your father, a good friend of the king of Portal City, was both a shopkeeper and an adventurer.

Under the king's rule, Portal City was prosperous and bustling with trade. Magical creatures called Faeries helped protect its citizens from danger. Shortly before the king's death, the portals closed and trade ceased. The Faeries vanished. Adventurers were stranded and exotic items became rare and precious. Many shops were forced to close. Nobody knows why the magic left...

When the king died, his eldest son, Jasper, ascended the throne. He and his bride, Queen Sallix, did not try to reopen the portals. Instead, they passed harsh new laws and kept all the wealth for themselves. Desperate for supplies and mystified by the portals' failure, city fold found themselves fighting tyranny.

Your father has left you his shop so that he can seek answers. Fortunately for you, the people of Portal City are in need of both a brave adventurer and a well-stocked shop. Looks like you are about to be kept very busy.

This could take some time

Not sure if anyone else is playing but this could take some work. There's a ton to write about in the game. -Cath 14:24, 9 August 2011 (CDT)

Links to pages?

So, there are a lot of items in this game (naturally) that exist in Neopia and have pages in this wiki... stuff like weewoo feather... should I be linking to the weewoo page or not... I'm concerned because, while descriptive, it could mess up the recognition of the item as a name. I've been linking things like pet species when describing characters but I was unsure about this. -Cath 20:39, 11 August 2011 (CDT)

Well, 'Weewoo' in the phrase 'Weewoo feather' means the small bird Petpet, so then it would be appropriate to link to it. It would be wrong to link, say, 'Krawk' to the article on the Krawk Neopet if it meant the Krawk Petpet, or to link to Pirate if the sentence was describing a profession not a paint colour (e.g. "Jacques is a [[Red]] [[Kyrii]] pirate", not "Jacques is a [[Red]] [[Kyrii]] [[pirate]]").
If you think it would make it easier to pick item names out, you can italicise them (as it looks like you have been doing =)). --Macbeth 04:58, 12 August 2011 (CDT)

Page Splitting

I don't think we need to break up the page. The 32 kB warning is very conservative (the article on The Faeries' Ruin, for example, is 120 kb long). No one with a modern browser should have trouble with this article. --Macbeth 04:29, 13 August 2011 (CDT)

I think that what I was considering was something like what Wikipedia has List:whatever pages... I could, for example, do a list of the quests, which would cut down a ton of the page, and a list of the different adventure maps... I don't mind leaving it as one entire article but it might be more user-friendly if it was split up. Let me know. -Cath 14:38, 16 August 2011 (CDT)

Date...

So, I had the ninth... which, for 3/4s of the people on the planet is the accurate day... if it was released just before midnight on the eighth, PDT (because it's summber)... as 87.106.140.33 claims, that would be the 8th for TNT... even if it isn't for the rest of everyone... except the west coast and Hawaii and Alaska. what's the general rule on this? Saying the 8th seems a bit... *shrug* ideas? -Cath 16:29, 23 August 2011 (CDT)

Was its release mentioned in the neopets.com new features? If so, use that date, even though it's forward-dated. --Macbeth 16:40, 23 August 2011 (CDT)
Yes, it was... but not until Friday last week, I believe. - Cath 16:46, 23 August 2011 (CDT)

Ring of Monsters

In the Future expansion it talks about a ring of monsters. Aren't those the portals? I would change it but im not 100% sure.

Those are coming soon portals then I would not change it if it's not available. If its not coming soon then I would change it.

I don't know what you mean by portals. If you look at the right side of the map in the center, there is a ring of well-known monsters. The section is speculative, there's no way to know what's going to be there in the future. -Cath 20:18, 21 September 2011 (CDT)

Shop stuff

Please don't put bulk info like this in paragraph form in an article. Also, please don't put notes to yourself or to readers in the article. This is probably more info than necessary but if you want to put it in, it needs to be formatted properly. -Cath 20:18, 21 September 2011 (CDT)

"Okay, I will fix that bulk. That is perfect."

Putting it in random groupings of five is not "fixing" the issue. Please look at pages like: Plot Pages, Petpet Colors etc. The list needs to be organized, easy to understand, and clean. The ordering and placement needs to make sense... meaning it should be in alphabetical order or order by value or something similar to that and it should be clear what that order is. -Cath 12:49, 8 October 2011 (CDT)

Just a new start.

I still believe that it is unnecessary to list every item in the game. I think it's a waste of time. This wiki is not an item database, it is a place for information about the game and that's pretty standard for us... we don't list everything sold in the Neopian shops because the lists are very extensive and I don't see a benefit to listing the items in Treasure Keepers here. Be aware that at some point someone may just delete the entire list or move it to the talk page because it's taking up space and isn't necessary. I would recommend simply mentioning the types of items that can be purchased and what their affects are.
Also, it is unnecessary to link to color articles unless you're talking about a pet or petpet or if the item is clearly designed after that color on rare occasion. So all of the shop items do not need to be connected to color articles. Also, generally, linking to another article is limited to the first occurrence of that word either in the article or (in larger articles) on the page, so if there are two colors of slorg, you do not need to link both to the slorg article, just the first one.
If you are adding information that is unknown, it's better to leave blank the info you don't know (like the level thirty prize) than to put in blanks. Also, if you have information be sure to actually put it in either in good prose or in a list form that looks good. Some of the recent edits you have made look like you're just jotting in notes which I believe I've already mentioned are inappropriate.-Cath 14:53, 9 October 2011 (CDT)

I did not mention on treasure keeper that 3 out of the 4 sub-categories in upgrades have one-buying used and the amount of 31 day telling you to go get the item before its to late. Is this important to add or no?

This is exactly why I feel that adding all of the items one can buy in the shops is unnecessary... there will constantly be stuff that is only temporarily available and there is no reason to document it here. This may sound slightly rude but is English your first language? The few times I've seen you write full sentences I find that I have a difficult time understanding what you are saying because I have no clue what you mean... for example, what do you mean by one-buying... Please make an effort to sign your posts on the discussion pages as noted at the top of every discussion page editing box, with four tildes. -Cath 23:30, 20 October 2011 (CDT)
One-buying means buying once then it's thing is gone from ShopShop. Better understanding: One purchase only on 3 out of 4 sub-categories in upgrades. English was my first language. -User:76.173.175.84

Quest Stuff

Again, this stuff needs to be properly formatted so that it matches the rest of the page. Bulk info should be put on the talk page until it can be formatted correctly.

Commas must be followed by spaces, please attempt to have a standard for capitalization of items. I appreciate your interest in assisting with this article but please make an attempt to keep it neat. -Cath 10:14, 8 October 2011 (CDT)

The quests below have been added where they seem fitting in the article. I have used the XP reward to determine what level the quests are available at though they could be off by one level in either direction. If anyone is able to confirm these levels that is appreciated. I have a game at level 7, so I can continue to play it from there but it's my last low-level game. My other one is already at level 20. -Cath 14:53, 9 October 2011 (CDT)

rumors and shield

Where did you get the info that there was a Platinum Shield?... and why are you now retracting that info? -Cath 18:43, 19 October 2011 (CDT)

From a neoboard and now I'm retracting from it by proof that two of the achievements have NaN% and then Infinity%.

Please don't undo my edits. I'm a sys-op on this wiki and I don't appreciate your actions. I've protected the page because it's clear that you are unwilling to read my notes about the situations that have occurred during your time attempting to edit this page and you clearly refuse to change your editing style to fit the standards of this wiki. The protection will end in a week or sooner if you agree to stop your actions.
The number of achievements (166) is based on what Facebook says... it clearly states in the waterfall of app activity that "player has ___ of 166 achievements" ... this number is all the active achievements, both visible and hidden... when this number changes, we can change what the wiki says.
Additionally, the definition of the achievement is the same regardless of whether it's broken or not... the definition of the Explorer achievements is: "Earn the top rank with the Explorers' Guild by exploring the (Location)". Just because it doesn't actually work right now does not mean that the definition is incorrect. If you, personally, have completed the gold and not gotten the award, I will note that they are currently not being awarded at this time due to a glitch but there is no reason for the definition to be deleted... the definition is vaguely worded, saying top not gold or platinum... since we are unsure whether the platinum exists or it is a rumor, we can not know where the error is. -Cath 23:20, 19 October 2011 (CDT)
O.K.,I agree, Now I understand better what you meant of the achievement. We're explaining so much better.

Path to Level 30 : predicting only on special wantings and a solution.

Please list predicting wanting ideas and do what's entirely best. 1. more nova locations 2. courses will be larger and that means more item spaces

  • Estimated Solution:
    • 75% chance- Not updated maps on certain places is a probable case for concerning problems and the effect of that is no level 30.
    • 7% chance- first update on maps.
    • 25% chance- both updates on maps.\
    • prediction on cases- suitcase, pencil cases, and led cases
I have already told you to stop putting random predictions of stuff up on the actual article. I have told you that your notes don't belong in the article... I'm tired of it. The block will last a month this time. Your Predictions make no sense, your random allocation of percentages make no sense... 75, 7, and 15 don't even add up to 100%.
This is not a guide, we don't need to say if something is glitched or not... and I'm not convinced that anything is actually glitched so much as that it hasn't been activated... if you can't play all the levels because they're not all active yet, of course you can't win an award for having played them all.
Please, just stop. -Cath 22:17, 27 October 2011 (CDT)
Since you retracted the information, now I suppose it is a going to have to be a 75% guide. Just tell me what is still missing from the article. 15 came from 7 + 8. 75 and 15 are the ones that equal to 100. I think the prediction were going to might be useful to later use information.

The only thing that I deleted was your idiotic guesses about something being glitched or not and when the glitches might be fixed... which I've already said is neither based in fact (that they are even glitched) or based on any information you can prove (that they will be fixed in the future). STOP changing the Construction label, stop adding stuff that doesn't belong in the article. I've already said that this is NOT A GUIDE. If they want a guide they can go to another site. This is information about the game not directions on how to play it.

Quote: = Proven to my game as regular quest achievement, detail- green bar disappear, shows icons,no counter Also: (possible glitch)=Proven by my game,detail- After getting gold, you get NaN% and Infinity%. This may change according to the updates)

This is neither proper English nor proper wiki content. NEVER use any person other than third person, stop adding NOTES to articles, which I've already said a zillion times. As far as I'm concerned, until something new is released, nothing in this article needs to change.

While 7+8 does in fact equal 15, there is no 8% in your list, only 75%, 15%, and 7% which together add up to 97%, leaving three percent unaccounted for... additionally, 75 + 15 = 90, not 100. -Cath 22:05, 28 October 2011 (CDT)
