The time of day effects many different asspects of Neopets.
The prizes of some "games" as well as puzzles and secrets as part of stories are time of day dependent.

Time-Dependent Events
Coltzan's Shrine - Approach the Shrine every fifth second of the hour to gain an increase in Move; every tenth second to gain an increase in Defence; every thirtieth minute to gain an increase in Strength; every hour to gain an increase in Endurance; every even hour to gain an increase in Level.
