The Eyrie was originally called the [[List of Neopet redesigns#Eyrie|Cerpull]] which looked more like a typical [[wikipedia:European dragon|European dragon]] than a griffin. The Cerpull was renamed the Tatsu on the 13th of July, 2000. For this change they removed a nose horn, shortened the "beak", and changed the spiked back into a head-to-tail mullet. On January 26 the following year, the Tatsu was renamed yet again, to the Eyrie. This name change accompanied a complete transformation to today's anatomy.
