The Caption Competition, featuring a new "caption" every Tuesday and Friday, is a contest in which users can enter an amusing piece of comedy to an image created by The Neopets Team. The "best, wittiest, funniest" captions are selected by The Neopets Team to be voted upon by users. When the next scene is released, the fifteen captions with the most votes are archived, along with the image, as winning captions.

There are three trophies - bronze, silver, and gold - for winning the Caption Competition that a user receives for a winning caption based on where it ranked in the overall voting order. In addition, a winning caption earns the user between 5,000 and 10,000 NP and a rare item.
