Avatars are graphic icons which are displayed next to your username when you send a Neomail or post a message in the NeoBoards. You can change you avatar by going to the NeoBoards and clicking Chat Prefrences.
There are 56 default avatars which are provided to players automatically, but there are currently 273 secret avatars that can be unlocked.
