'''Imperial Exam''' is a puzzle game released on August 31, 2007.

The imperial examination is starting, and everyone wants to be a top scholar! Examination seats are limited, though, so only those who are qualified can enter to take the exam. However, there are some unqualified Neopians trying to enter. You and your guards are watching the gate. You will spot which Neopets are qualified and which are not. Those who are unqualified must leave.

There are two main categories: one group of Neopians will say the correct word in a speech bubble, while the other group is made up of unqualified citizens whose speech bubble contains a misspelt word. There is a long queue; you are given a time period of 60 seconds to let as many qualified scholars in for each level as you can. If you let an unqualified Neopet enter, you lose a chance. When all your chances are used up, you will be fired!

Press the DOWN arrow key to chase away the unqualified Neopians. Press the UP arrow key to let the qualified scholars enter the gate.

There will be a total of five levels. As the levels increase, more scholars are needed to fill the examination hall. This will require you to react faster and faster as the level increases.

'''Shenkuu''' is a mountainous land far North of [[Altador]] in [[Neopia]]. It was made available on September 8, 2006 after the [[Cyodrake's Gaze]] plot. Like the name suggests, Shenkuu is a [[wikipedia:China|Chinese]] themed world, although it takes its design from both China and [[wikipedia:Japan|Japan]]. Shenkuu has been unknown to Neopians for centuries, only to be revealed by the crew of the [[Cyodrake's Gaze]] after they received help from users. Its citizens are cautious of visitors, though this isn't explained why, but nonetheless they have welcomed visitors from all over Neopia, spreading their trade (as it is a merchant town).

Joining the [[Altador Cup]] in 2007, Shenkuu is regarded by [[Altador Cup]] enthusiasts as an exciting young team with plenty of promise, but they were expected not to make much noise in the tournament, having too many holes in their team. The inexperience of goalie [[Xana DiLanche]], the unpredictable health of defender [[Turo Rafels]], and the team's overall lack of tournament play are all serious concerns. However, the stunning talent of young forwards [[Mirsha Grelinek]] and [[Foltaggio]] may cause a few upsets.

Oh no! Princess Lunara has been kidnapped! The Emperor has ordered all the bridges that lead to Shenkuu's docks be secured to prevent the kidnapper from escaping with the princess, and the Palace guards are scrambling to close them off.

You fancy yourself a bit of an amateur sleuth, and you arrive on the scene, all ready to save the princess! Unfortunately, the Palace guards aren't allowing anyone who can't answer their questions to cross the bridges. Hopefully, your knowledge of Neopia and its inhabitants is enough to help you find the princess. You can also bring up to two of your friends along for help.

There are three guards, each an expert in their subject matter: All About Neopia, Neopian Culture, and Notable Neopians. Pick a guard and you will be asked a question from that category. To answer, simply buzz in using your keyboard. If you can answer the guards' questions, you'll be one step closer to solving this mystery in the mist and winning the generous reward. If you can't, you might end up having to pay out a few bribes to get past the guards…or you might be mistaken for the kidnapper and taken to prison!

Both Gelerts #5 and #2 officially won (although the joke design, #3, actually had the most votes) so the two designs were combined and the final version (released on [http://www.neopets.com/newfeatures.phtml?arr=2001-11-26 29th November 2001]) has not changed since.

==About the Gelert==
The Gelert is a distant cousin to the [[Lupe]] and are the embodiment of all that is fun and goofy.

They are joyous creatures, with a love of anyone and everything. If you are suffering from a long day at work, there is nothing better than coming home to a Gelert, who will do anything possible to make your day a happier day.

Legend and myth have been written about the brave deeds of Gelerts and such stories have made Gelerts a household name. If anything, their love of children make them excellent baby sitters. The Gelert is said to be based on the dog in the poem 'The Grave of the Greyhound' or 'Beth Gelert', where a greyhound, called Gelert, was slain by his master when he discovered the dog, covered in blood, at his infant's cradle. It later turned out that the blood was not of the master's son but that of a wolf who had tried to kill the boy, and that Gelert had really been protecting his master's heir.

She currently lives alone in that same hut surrounded by [[Meowclops]], bordering the lands of [[Meridell]] and Neovia (also considered [[Werelupe Woods]]). She makes it a habit to scare [[Neopet]]s away from her and sometimes even turn them into [[Petpet]]s or [[Petpetpet]]s. Though crude in her actions, Sophie is generally a good character, but wishes to be left alone.

When [[Tormund]] and [[Roberta]] came to Werelupe Woods to fight the [[Werelupe King]] for [[Illusen]]'s Charm, they meet Sophie, who knows they are going to the [[Werelupe]] Den and wil help them get past the giant skull guarding it if they find her a raw [[Wartroot]]. After retrieving the Wartroot from an underground cavern in the swamp, Sophie tells a story of how she made a necklace to get into the Werelupe Burrows for a young Neopet. He used the necklace to try and steal the Werelupe King's treasure, but got buried alive. Instead of making a new one, Sophie sends them to the location of the old one at his crypt.

Their family was the first to fall in the trap set by [[Mr. Krawley]], who offered mysterious potions to all of the inhabitants of Neovia. Every single person was lured into it, convinced that their one big problem would be resolved, and were soon cursed by their desires. The rioting inhabitants were furious and blamed the family when Mr. Krawley disappeared. Edmund ordered Reginald to take Sophie into the Woods. There they stumbled upon the [[Ilere]], who Sophie decided to go with of her own free will despite Reginald's worry, saying she felt safe with her.

After Gilly was told the story, she found Neovia and an abandoned house, where she discovered a silver locket. taking it to the [[Deserted Fairground]], she asked around for information on it, and eventually returned to Neovia to discover a spooky shack with '''Sophies Rocking Chair''' at the front.

After this, there are no more entries in the journal.

Bruno was chased from the town, and the towns people called on [[The Spirit of Slumber]] to remove the curse, but to terrible consequences: they only appeared in the town, as spectral, unreacting forms of their former selves.

Ten years later, [[Gilly]], when fleeing from Bruno's sister Sophie who had grew into a powerful swamp witch, entered Bruno's cave and set a trap for him, scared of the monstrous thing that stalked in the dark. Bruno joins Gilly and convinces Sophie to try and restore [[Neovia]]. After finding the name of the Spirit of Slumber in life, they call upon him and he undoes his spell on the Neovians. They return, however, in their monster forms.

After some trials, which included Bruno having to endure to some less-than-desirable side-effects of testing several potions, the correct reversing formula is prepared and given to the town in their water supply. Bruno, however, when he took the potion, did not revet back to his unaltered self: he had been under the effect of Mr. Krawley's concoction too long.

'''Sophie''' is a Green [[Ixi]] witch introduced on June 16, 2005 through the [[Neopets TCG]] [[Lost Desert]] expansion and shown fully in [[Neopets: The Darkest Faerie]] on November 15, 2006.

A former citizen of [[Neovia]], she was safely taken out of the village when it became cursed and was given a hut in a [[Haunted Woods]] swamp by [[Ilere]] in order to survive. She is the daughter of [[Edmund]] and [[Alice]], and siblings to [[Bruno]] and [[Reginald]]. She currently lives alone in that same hut surrounded by [[Meowclops]], bordering the lands of [[Meridell]] and Neovia (also considered [[Werelupe Woods]]). She makes it a habit to scare [[Neopet]]s away from her and sometimes even turn them into [[Petpet]]s or [[Petpetpet]]s. Though crude in her actions, Sophie is generally a good character, but wishes to be left alone.

Sophie is not the most careful of witches and mixes potions in her game [[Sophie's Stew]], with the help of her Meowclops.

When [[Tormund]] and [[Roberta]] came to Werelupe Woods to fight the [[Werelupe King]] for [[Illusen]]'s Charm, they meet Sophie, who knows they are going to the [[Werelupe]] Den and wil help them get past the giant skull guarding it if they find her a raw [[Wartroot]]. After retrieving the Wartroot from an underground cavern in the swamp, Sophie tells a story of how she made a necklace to get into the Werelupe Burrows for a young Neopet. He used the necklace to try and steal the Werelupe King's treasure, but got buried alive. Instead of making a new one, Sophie sends them to the location of the old one at his crypt.

In the [[Gypsy Camp]] of the [[Haunted Woods]], users are told the story of a time when Gilly passed while she was lost in the woods, and told a story herself: Long ago in [[Neovia]] lived the family [[Edmund]] and [[Alice]] and their 3 children, who were [[Bruno]], [[Reginald]] and Sophie. Their family was the first to fall in the trap set by [[Mr. Krawley]], who offered mysterious potions to all of the inhabitants of Neovia. Every single person was lured into it, convinced that their one big problem would be resolved, and were soon cursed by their desires. The rioting inhabitants were furious and blamed the family when Mr. Krawley disappeared. Edmund ordered Reginald to take Sophie into the Woods. There they stumbled upon the [[Ilere]], who Sophie decided to go with of her own free will despite Reginald's worry, saying she felt safe with her.

After Gilly was told the story, she found Neovia and an abandoned house, where she discovered a silver locket. taking it to the [[Deserted Fairground]], she asked around for information on it, and eventually returned to Neovia to discover a spooky shack with '''Sophies Rocking Chair''' at the front.
