'''Captain Dread''' is a skeletal [[Kiko]] pirate who originally destroyed [[Maraqua]] with a curse in ''[[The Destruction of Maraqua]]'', when [[King Koi]] refused to pay the pirates' protection money. Dread sailed the submarine ''[[The Revenge]]''.

His vendetta was carried on by [[Captain Scarblade]]. What happened to Dread afterwards is unknown. It is, however, suspected that Captain Dread could be an outdated version of Captain Scarblade. How he placed the curse is also unknown.

*An image of Captain Dread holding a bottle and grinning is featured as a background in the game [[Kiko Match II]].
*He appeared in the now retried game [[Deckswabber]] as one of the enemies in the later levels. He followed the player's icon, was very fast, and touching him would kill the player instantly.

The '''Underwater Chef''' is a [[Flotsam]] chef who runs the [[Kitchen Quest]]. He works as [[Mumbo Pango]]'s cook on [[Mystery Island]]. He is frequently overwhelmed by his workload as Mumbo Pango demands meals every 5 minutes, and seeks help by asking Neopians to find ingredients for him in the Kitchen Quest. He stars in the game [[Island Chef Academy]].

The Underwater Chef used to live in [[Maraqua#Old Maraqua|Old Maraqua]] serving [[King Koi]]'s Royal Family of [[Maraqua]], for whom he did the original Kitchen Quest. He was updated to be a Flotsam and relocated to Mystery Island when [[The Destruction of Maraqua|Maraqua was destroyed]]. He has remained on Mystery Island even though Maraqua has since been rebuilt. The original chef appeared to be a [http://images.neopets.com/nt/week26/water_chef1.gif shrimp-like creature] instead of a Neopet.

By putting in any amount of [[Neopoints]] and wishing for an [[item]] they want, it's possible to receive that item. No one knows how long the Wishing Well has existed or what powers it, be it a magical spirit or its own magical properties.

Users need to type in the object name correctly for it to work, as the Wishing Well can't guess what it is the users wants. Also, the Well isn't fast in response, as it sleeps for 18 hours a day. As of August 3, 2006, the Wishing Well gives out prizes four times daily. The amount of NP given doesn't affect the outcome of receiving the item wished for. The '''Usul''' is a [[Wikipedia:Squirrel|squirrel]]-like [[Neopet]] released on November 15, 1999 as one of the original Neopets on the site. Usuls are loyal and friendly pets who prefer to live in trees. During cold weather, Usuls are the first to share their food with friends. They also enjoy grooming, and are very proud of being Usuls (the default Usul petpage mentions "Usul Power!" several times).

The Usul began to receive large attention on June 7, 2001, with the release of [[Usuki Doll]]s and [[Usukiland]], an [[item]] type and [[shop]] which focuses solely on Usul-type items. The Usul can also be painted the ''Usuki'' [[colour]], which is unique to the Usul with the '''Usuki [[Paint Brush]]'''. Because of its affiliation with Usuki, the Usul is to date the most featured Neopet in all of the items in Neopets, with newer Usuki being added every year, including on August 20, the ''Annual Usuki Doll Convention''. The '''Usul''' is a [[Wikipedia:Squirrel|squirrel]]-like [[Neopet]] released on November 15, 1999 as one of the original Neopets on the site. Usuls are loyal and friendly pets who prefer to live in trees. During cold weather, Usuls are the first to share their food with friends. They also enjoy grooming, and are very proud of being Usuls (the default Usul petpage mentions "Usul Power!" several times).

The Usul began to receive large attention on June 7, 2001, with the release of [[Usuki Doll]]s and [[Usukiland]], an [[item]] type and [[shop]] which focuses solely on Usul-type items. The Usul can also be painted the ''Usuki'' [[colour]], which is unique to the Usul with the '''Usuki [[Paint Brush]]'''. Because of its affiliation with Usuki, the Usul is to date the most featured Neopet in all of the items in Neopets, with newer Usuki being added every year, including on August 20, the ''Annual Usuki Doll Convention''. The name possibly comes from a mix of the words "usagi" (meaning rabbit in Japanese) and "squirrel".

'''Eliv Thade''' is a [[Ghost]] [[Kacheek]] introduced on February 24, 2003 via the puzzle game [[The Castle of Eliv Thade]]. With his residence in the [[Haunted Woods]], he torments whoever comes into his castle with puzzles and riddles.

==Overview==
While alive, Eliv Thade was a professional puzzle writer, and prided himself on being able to solve any puzzle. Many tried to stump him and gain fame for being the only one to do so, but none could. One day, however, one of Thade's servants gave him a long and complicated puzzle he couldn't solve. He spent months in his castle's libraries, reading books in the hope of finding the answer, but could find none. During this time, the servant would taunt Eliv, which would put him in a fit of rage.

Solving the puzzle turned into an obsession, and years later Eliv Thade was driven insane. His servants left the castle for their own safety, and it fell into disrepair. Eliv died alone many years later, still unable to solve the puzzle. His spirit still roams the castle, seeking vengeance against anyone who would dare enter his home, pitting difficult anagrams and other puzzles against them. Thus far, the only one known to survive is [[Gilly]].

It is not known how Eliv Thade acquired his trademark sewn-on patch of white skin around his left eye (which is large and red), although it is often used to identify him. [[The Neopets Team]] once joked in a [[Neopian Times|Neopian Times']] editorial that he had an accident with scissors when he was young. In a more recent [http://www.neopets.com/ntimes/index.phtml?section=editorial&week=324 editorial], it was confirmed that the portrait in the bedroom of the castle is of Eliv Thade while he was alive, which possibly raises further questions. (The portrait shows both of his eyes looking a bit more similar to the left eye of his specter and he has a full head of hair as well.) It's also unknown why his hands and feet are bandaged; whether it was from an accident when he was alive or a result of him being a ghost. The '''Monoceraptor''' is a monster which invaded [[Tyrannia]] along with an army of Tyrannian [[Neopet]]s during [[The Tyrannian Invasion]]. Making its first visual appearance on May 10, 2001, he was the ''boss'' challenger of the war, coming after seven initial waves of invaders. Considered one of the most fearsome beasts of [[Neopia]], it's thick leathery hide is full of scars from all the battles he won.

After the ransacking of Tyrannia, the Monoceraptor earned himself a place in the [[Gallery of Evil]] on May 11, 2001, but was replaced with [[Commander Garoo]] at some unrecorded later point for unknown reasons. It was implied at the end of the war the Monoceraptor was the puppet of some greater evil, although it is an open thread as to who this could have been. There is some speculation it could have been [[Dr. Sloth]], and other believe it was a joke from [[The Neopets Team]], who were testing the new [[Battledome]] system with the Tyrannian war and not creating a future plot.

Slorgs are featured in the game [[Attack of the Slorgs]] and appear in some other games like [[Feed Florg]] and [[Petpet Cannonball]].

The Slorg is often used to comic effect by [[The Neopets Team]]: for example, they released a personality quiz - [http://www.neopets.com/games/whichpetpet.phtml Which Petpet are You?] - that always resulted, no matter what options were chosen, in the conclusion that the user was a Slorg. This was later claimed to be a "technical problem" and "fixed" on September 19, 2002, since which time the user is always categorised as a Pink Slorg.

It was suggested [[Neopets (website)|the website]]'s [http://www.neopets.com/add_poll.phtml now closed polls] that the Slorg may become a [[Neopet]], in the same way as the [[Krawk (Petpet)|Krawk]] in that a young Slorg would still be a Petpet and its adult version would become a Neopet. The Underwater Chef used to live in [[Maraqua#Old Maraqua|Old Maraqua]] serving [[King Koi]]'s Royal Family of [[Maraqua]], for whom he did the original Kitchen Quest.
