The first official 2006 [[Plot]] on [[Neopets]]. It involves the most recent addition to the Neopets landscape - the city of Altador.

===Prologue===

Long ago, before the building of our great city, twelve heroes arose. Each was famous for different deeds of varying natures. The greatest of these heroes is the one whom we now know as King Altador. He, with the aid of the other heroes, founded our illustrious city by the sea.

Before the Great Betrayal, the kingdom of Altador was one of the most glorious places in all Neopia. It was a centre of culture and greatly admired for its dignified citizens. Those blessed times were nearly lost when one of our own, who once called herself an ally and friend to the heroes, turned her heart to darkness and attempted to destroy the city. Only by Jerdana's magic were we saved, though our future remains uncertain.

Within this tome you will find the recorded history of the twelve heroes and how they came to form the Kingdom of Altador. Protect this knowledge well, for it may be all that is left if Jerdana's magic fails and the betrayer succeeds....

Karma is The theory that the more times you Perform a certan action, like donating to the [[Money Tree]] or taking care of your pets, you get more, or better random events. Karma is mainly theroretical but does exist to some Extent in neopets. For example, if you refuse a [[Faerie Quest]] the chance of you getting another one is decreased. In fact for 10 minutes after you refuse, it is non-existent.

Also, items cannot alter your Karma; this is a scam to inflate prices. however, many Neopian believe in the karma system, and perhaps more will be explained in the future.

Noob is the conjugation of the word "Newbie", and n00b is the leet (1337) restructuring of it to take into account the zeros-for-o transformation. N00b, as opposed to "newbie" is usually used as an insult, with the intention of the subject of the term being refered to as someone who is not only new to the game but also immature and/or naieve. The term is often used to mean "stupid" for this reason.

A spamming n00b is a very annyoing kind of of n00b. A lot of them use ''Chatspeak'', an odd variation of English that is very annoying, hard to read, and hurts your eyes. They create off-topic boards on the [[NeoBoard]]s that usually get them frozen. They are found on all boards but are highly concentrated on the newbie boards, as are all n00bs.

===Item n00bs===

These n00bs ask to borrow or have a rare [[Item]]/[[Neopet]]. They ask if they can have an expensive item like a [[Paint Brush]] or an [[Avatar]] item. Very rarely do they get what they ask for, but on occasion they get lent the avatar item, and sometimes never return it. They are found mostly on the Avatar and [[Battledome]] NeoBoards, but can be found on any board.

A new player or 'beginner', to Neopets. The title is not Neopets exclusive, and is in wide use around the internet, particularly in internet gaming communities. Although at times the words 'newbie' and '[[n00b]]' are used as interchangeable synonyms, standard usage is considerably different. 'Newbie' is not usually meant as a derogatory term and is related to one's time on Neopets (although not one's skill, interestingly enough), whereas 'n00b' is intended to insult and refers to a player who is seen as immature, or inexperienced at part of the game, or gameplay interface regardless of time spent playing.

The term "Newbie" was first coined during the Vietnam war, and refered to infantry who had not yet seen battle, and the term has been ongoing since then.

There is no formal boundary between 'newbie' status and 'non-newbie' status, although the [[User Lookup]] shield stops saying 'newbie' after seven days after account creation. Despite this, it is possible to remain a 'newbie' depending on the context, for example in the context of the [[Altador Plot]], players who have been playing for six years or more may be considered a "newbie" in the plot.

Refering to an account whose actual age is longer than the age of your own account as a 'newbie' is generally seen as bad practise, regardless of whether the older account may still be classed as one, unless perhaps if you once possessed an older account that was [[frozen]].

Every day one game is randomly chosen as the "featured game" (see image), which can be played for double neopoints.

Games are divided in the [http://www.neopets/com/gameroom.phtml gameroom] into those games which are luck, those which are action and those that are puzzles. With the exception of action games, which all require Macromedia [[Flash]] or [[Shockwave]] to play, each of these categories also has some HTML based games which can be played on machines that may be unable to play more processor-intensive games. These games also tend to take a long time to download, particularly on computers with a dial-up modem, and tend to run slowly on older computers, often leading to a less enjoyable experience for people on older computers. '''Neggs''' are Neopet items - generally food or battledome weapons - that resemble eggs, but have stems, suggesting that they are grown from plants. There are two general categories for neggs: neggs that may be exchangeable for negg points, and neggs that can be bought at the [[Neggery]] for Neggpoints.

Regular neggs can be bought at the food shop in Neopia Central. Most, but not all of these neggs can be exchanged at the Neggery for a set number of Neggpoints. The penultimate of these is the Fish Negg, which is a retired negg, worth 50 Neggpoints.

Neggs that can be purchased from the Neggery have varying prices (up to a few hundred) and have unique results when fed to your pet, or used in the [[Battledome]]. The effects of many neggs are not absolutely certain due to generally high costs preventing experimentation. '''Faerie Crossword''' is a web based crossword puzzle game that can be found in [[Faerieland]]. A new puzzle is posted every day and the game is hosted by the [[Library Faerie]]. A fixed amount of NP is rewarded based on the amount of time taken to complete the puzzle.

Answers can be either common knowledge or can require looking up certain details on Neopets. Because the questions and answers used are reused regularly, several help sites, such as [http://www.pinkpt.com Pink Poogle Toy] post the answers to the puzzles every day. Completing the puzzle for the first time will give you the 'Library Faerie' [[avatar]].

Angelpuss is the good cousin of the [[Devilpuss]] petpet, which is the exact opposite of angelpuss. Devilpuss was featured in [[NeoQuest II]] as a boss battle who destroyed the inhabitants of an entire [[Faerie]] city.

*To win a round, you have to get rid of all the cards in your hand. Once you beat a round, you can continue to the next highest difficulty.
*On your turn, you can play 1 to 4 cards of the same value. Pick the cards you want to play by clicking on them; then you have to select what you want to tell the other players. It's okay to cheat!
*If someone guesses that you're cheating, you have to take all the cards from the pile and add them to your hand.
*When the computer players take a turn, you can accuse them of cheating (if you think they are!) or you can let them get away with it. If you accuse them and you're wrong, you have to take the pile! But if you're right, then THEY have to take the pile, and you get some neopoints for catching them!
