The '''Xweetok''' is a [[wikipedia:chipmunk|chipmunk]]- or [[Wikipedia:Chinchilla|chinchilla]]-like [[Neopet]] released on November 30, 2005. Originating from the forests of [[Neopia]], they make their homes in hollowed out trees and logs, and are quite agile. Xweetoks enjoy being chased, and often indulge in games such as 'Tag' or 'Hide 'n' Seek' with others of its species.

The Xweetok was added to the website rather unexpectedly, and came with mixed reactions. Many members enjoyed it due to its likeness to real-life creatures, but with a Neopets-esque, coy look. Others disliked it due to a similarity to the [[Wocky]] and [[Acara]]. Still others thought that it was poorly drawn, and with people still holding their breath for the [[April Fool's]] pet and the [[Lutari]], many found it annoying Neopets had made two new pets (the other being the [[Ogrin]]) while they were waiting.

Still, the Xweetok is popular, especially with younger players who are glad to get a cute-looking pet without having to buy a [[Paint Brush]]. Others love its [[Mutant]] look, which turns it into a [[Wikipedia:Rat|rat]]-like creature. Since it was released, it has shot up the popularity charts, to land at #6 as of August 23, 2008, setting a new record for the fastest-growing new species population.

==Battledome==
In the Battledome, Xweetoks have no natural resistances, however they do have three species [[abilities]]:
*As of March 2012, over 13 million Xweetoks have been created, placing them 5th in popularity out of 54 Neopets. They are also featured in 110 different [[item]]s.
*Although the pronunciation of "Xweetok" is not included on the [http://www.neopets.com/pronounce.phtml learn to speak Neopian] page, as of December 2006, the editorial of the [[Neopian Times]] [http://www.neopets.com/ntimes/index.phtml?section=editorial&issue=236 issue 236] gave it as ''zwee-tock''.
*As it says on a default Xweetok Petpage Xweetoks dislike [[Kougra]]s but are more friendly around [[Usul]]s. They're known to take care of their [[Petpets]] and their favourite candy is jelly beans.

The '''Lupe''' (from the [[wikipedia:Latin|Latin]] ''[[wiktionary:lupus|lupus]]'' meaning "wolf") is a [[Wikipedia:Wolf|wolf]]-like [[Neopet]], released on 13 January 2000, as a selection from a Create-a-Pet Contest. Though hunters by nature, Lupes are loyal Neopets who will often throw themselves into danger to protect their friends. Lupes enjoy adventuring to new territories and prowling around [[Neopia]].

Lupes have a natural rivalry with [[Chia]]s. Lupe treats are shaped like Chias, and other [[food]]s like ''Chocolate Chias'' are Lupe delicacies. A Lupe will practice hunting on Chia [[plushies]], and if given one to play with will invariably tear it up. There is a Lupe species [[battledome equipment|weapon]] called the ''Lupe Chia Bomb'' that will do extra damage to Chias in 2-player [[Battledome]] matches, and in kind [[Hubrid Nox]] developed ''Hubrids Noxious Blade'' that does extra damage to Lupes. Users with both a Lupe and a Chia pet may notice their Chia looks unhappy.

A [[Halloween]] Lupe is called a ''Werelupe'', a reference to the [[wikipedia:werewolf|werewolves]] of real life myth. [[Spotted]] Lupes resemble [[Wikipedia:African Wild Dog|African wild dog]]s, and [[Maraquan]] Lupes resemble [[wikipedia:pinniped|seals]]. In the [[Neopets Trading Card Game]], Lupes are associated with the element of Earth.

==Battledome==
In the [[Battledome]], Lupes have no natural resistances, however they do have six species [[abilities]]:

The '''Chomby''' is a shy, plant-eating [[Limited Edition]] Neopet reminiscent of an ''[[wikipedia:Apatosaurus|Apatosaurus]]'' and a ''[[wikipedia:Stegosaurus|Stegosaurus]]''. Chombies come from [[Tyrannia]], and first appeared on the [[Neopets|site]] when Tyrannia was discovered on 21 March 2001. They were first available to adopt the following day.

The Chomby is a hefty Neopet - a single one can [http://www.neopets.com/tcg/displayCard.phtml?edid=7&id=81 shake the ground] on its own. The [[Maraquan]] Chomby is [http://www.neopets.com/tcg/displayCard.phtml?edid=7&id=10 a reference to] the legend of the [[wikipedia:Loch Ness Monster|Loch Ness Monster]]. In the [[Neopets Trading Card Game]], they are associated with the element of light.

==Battledome==

In the [[Battledome]], Chombies take 20% less damage from physical attacks, and 10% less damage from fire attacks. They also have six species abilities:

==Battledome==

In the [[Battledome]], Chombies take 20% less damage from physical attacks, and 10% less damage from fire attacks. They also have six species abilities:
The '''Snowager''' is a giant ice worm who lives in the [[Ice Caves]], guarding an enormous hoard of treasure. Cold as ice and extremely mean, the Snowager is renowned for its freezing cold breath. While he sleeps for only a few hours a day, players may choose those times to approach and try to steal some of his hoard. The Snowager may based on the [[wikipedia:European dragon|dragons of European folklore]], who in many stories - [[wikipedia:Beowulf|Beowulf]], [[wikipedia:Fafnir|Fafnir]] - guarded treasure. He first appeared on 11 January 2001.

He is a [[1-Player Challengers|Battledome opponent]], is featured in [[NeoQuest II]], and has a starring role in the [[game]] [[Wrath of the Snowager]].

The [[Snowickle]] [[Petpet]] is reminiscent of the Snowager - in its snakelike appearance and markings, and tendency to [http://www.neopets.com/tcg/displayCard.phtml?edid=6&id=25 hoard objects] - and fans have theorised that it the Snowager may be an overgrown form of the Snowickle, like the [[Turmaculus]] is an overgrown [[Turmac]]. The [[Hissi]] resembles the Snowager when painted [[Ice]].
==Snowager's Cave==
[[Image:Snowager awake.gif|left|frame|The Snowager is watching for thieves most of the day.]]
The Snowager's Cave was added to the Ice Caves map on January 11, 2001. Through this cave is where the ice worm was first introduced.

The Snowager only sleeps between 6-7 AM, 2-3 PM, and 10-11 PM, [[Neopia Standard Time]]. During these times, it is possible to sneak in and grab a prize from the pile of treasure he rests on. Prizes range from [[Negg]]s to medicine to [[Plushie|plushies]]. The Snowager can also wake up and deal damage to your active pet, or even to all of them, by delivering a powerful icy blast.

The Snowager is an NPC in NeoQuest II, and contrary to his terrorising role in the Ice Caves, in the simulation he keeps order in [[Terror Mountain]]'s roads of avalanches, as well as eating various monsters in the mountain, which are actually the ship's data routes and the ship's viruses respectively. He is imprisoned by [[Scuzzy]] and it is the job of Rohane and his party to defeat [[Scuzzy]] and free the Snowager. After Scuzzy is defeated the Snowager is free and reveals himself as a sentient program in charge of maintaining the ship's computers, but that a virus has been installed and now has control of the ship's computers.
*The Snowager How to Draw tutorial was added on December 15, 2007.
*Next to [[Punchbag Sid]], The Snowager is the strongest one-player Battledome opponent available outside of [[plot]]s.
*An [[avatar]] featuring the Snowager was released on December 8, 2004. The avatar is randomly rewarded when your pet(s) get blasted trying to steal its treasure.
*In December 2011, apart of the [[Winter Starlight Celebration]], the Snowager went into Hibernation and was able to be visited approximately every 2 hours.

{{Construction| reason=Dates of when new rules took effect, and more information}}
'''Multiple Accounts''' also known as side accounts, is a term used by [[The Neopets Team]] and the community of [[Neopets]] for users who have more than one account/username they log into on a daily basis. Users create multiple accounts (to a maximum of 5) for many reason: they want to try a new username, own different [[Neopet]]s, want to become part of another [[guild]], boredom, or many other reasons. Having multiple accounts is allowed, but can be difficult at times due to the many actions the user must refrain from, or have one or more of their accounts suspended or [[frozen]], due to the fact having multiple accounts can give a user an unfair advantage over other users.

==Overview==
Of the 5 accounts a user is allowed to log into on a daily basis, only one is to be their ''main account'', i.e. to gain [[Neopoints]] from or any profit of any kind. This account can gain Neopoints from [[games]], collect [[items]] from the [[dailies]], have a [[shop]], participate in voting activities and all other profitable activities.

The other 4 accounts, called ''side accounts'', can be used for [[guilds]], [[galleries]], item storage, and extra Neopets. No Neopoint gaining games can be played by this account, or dailies (except the [[Healing Springs]] or the [[Soup Kitchen]]) or other profitable activities. Neopoints and items can be transferred to side accounts from the main account or other side accounts (all of which should be same e-mail address as the main account) to help the user feed their Neopets, create a gallery or gain access to the [[Lab Ray]], but the side accounts are to never give items to the main account for means of a profit.

If the user is the leader of a guild, they may use 1 of the 5 accounts as a ''guild account'' (naming it as such as well), which can own a shop for the guild activities. This account cannot earn Neopoints in any manner other than through the store, auctions and trades. Users can only have one guild account for a guild, and actions taken on a guild account can affect the users other accounts).

Users also cannot share or play another users account as a favor while they are on vacation for a long time or for other such reasons. This gains a profit for the real user while away and is seen as gaining an advantage over other users, making it a freezable offense. This rule is also in effect for the users safety, as an argument between account sharers could result in one of them to change the accounts email and password, taking credit of all the work put into the account.

==Complications==
While the rules of having multiple accounts are fairly simple, there are situations which can cause confusion and have TNT take action against users who may look like they are breaking rules, but aren't. Users who share one computer and all have separate accounts is a good example, because to one who doesn't know the living situations, it could look like a user was making a profit off of many different accounts, especially if those users share items with each other. Even if all the users have different emails, it would still require TNT to investigate each account. Some users put notes to TNT on their profiles saying that they share a computer, but these do no good, as cheaters would be very likely to do the same[http://www.neopets.com/ntimes/index.phtml?section=editorial&week=407][http://www.neopets.com/ntimes/index.phtml?section=editorial&week=270][http://www.neopets.com/ntimes/index.phtml?section=editorial&week=497]

==Trivia==
*On 7 November 2005 the Terms and Conditions of Use on the Neopets site was updated. One of these changes required that users only have one shop for their main account (excluding a single guild account), and restricted the collection of dailies to a user's main account.
*A change in rules before 7 November 2005 had allowed users with more than 5 accounts to keep all of their accounts (provided that they did not make any more) but an editorial dated 11 November 2005 confirmed that the updated Terms and Conditions restricted users to a maximum of 5 accounts and required that all users deactivate any accounts in excess of that limit.
Welcome to NeoDex! Just wanted to tell you that when uploading an image make sure to state its url address ('''without the <nowiki>http://</nowiki>''') in the description. We look forward to more contributions from you :) --[[User:Dizzy|Dizzy]] 01:16, 7 Aug 2007 (UTC)
:Thanks for the info and the welcome. I'll be sure to do that in future. Do you want me to add that to the other images I added? Also, the Dice-a-Roo image is a single image compiled of six others... but the single image is not on Neopets. Should I state the URLs for each of the individual images? --[[User:Cath|Cath]]
::Yes, please add the url for your other images. As for the Dice-a-roo, you can simply mention that you created this image and the individual pictures came from the neopets.com server. As long as you provide the source of the image, everything's fine. --[[User:Dizzy|Dizzy]] 04:25, 7 Aug 2007 (UTC)
::You can include the individual sources, yeah. Compilation images like [[:Image:Dicearoodice.png|that]] or [[:Image:Pyramids trophies.png]] are fine where appropriate :¬). --[[User:Macbeth|Macbeth]] 17:18, 16 Aug 2007 (UTC)
==Petpet Colour Release Dates==
If anyone is interested, I have several years worth on a google document I created. I've made it through June 2005 and I'll be continuing with it over time. I have a lot that isn't here but I didn't want to add it until I had all the colours for a specific petpet, so I wouldn't be constantly editing pages. ==Typo Issue==
And you have what against me correcting the typos? ~Mr.Wha...?

:I have nothing against you correcting typos on actual NeoDex pages. It's extremely helpful but it is a waste of time to edit the talk pages and it is best that the talk pages remain unedited other than for markup reasons like my moving your question into a new section. Also, if you were to go through and edit for typos every talk page in the Neodex, there would be no edits other than that, which is silly. Please, if you want to be helpful, edit real pages. There are hundreds of pages that need [[:Category:Under Construction|construction]] work done as well as hundreds of [[:Category:Stubs|stub]] pages that need work. There are also plenty of pages that need articles that are written in a more professional or Wikipedia-style manner. Please take a few minutes to look over the [[Help:Contents|Help]] page to get a better idea of proper Wiki coding as well. Thanks for wanting to help out! --[[User:Cath|Cath]] 21:00, 22 Jul 2008 (CDT)
== Confused ==

I was only emulating the style of “Macbeth” by adding empty categories to the various pages. In fact, it was his Neocola stub with the (previously) empty “varieties” category that inspired me to make my first contribution. I believe that a category with no informative text, while it may look a tad unprofessional to some, can motivate those who have useful information lurking about their brains, to add their knowledge to the pot … Though, if it’s against protocols to follow the examples left by senior members, I shall immediately stop. --[[User:Cybridsovereign|Cybridsovereign]] 02:57, 24 Jul 2008 (CDT)
:I don't have issues with empty categories, only when creating the empty category is the only thing you do on the page. The page you reference was greatly enhanced (rewritten/ links added, etc.) when that section was created (and left blank). Do you understand the difference? If you create an entirely new page but don't have all the info for it but have an idea of what sort of sections should exist but don't have the time or information to fill them in completely, that's perfectly understandable. If all you do is open up an already created article and add a section and "(to be added)" or "coming soon" and nothing else, that's a bit of a waste in my opinion.

:I have no interest in discouraging you or anyone else from helping on this project. There's no way that we could do it on our own and all the help we get is greatly appreciated. Right now I feel a bit distressed because I see that there's so much that could be done and so few people actually doing it. If you see something you want to edit or you feel could be added to, please, do... making a list of jellies using the framework created by the omelette page you praised and one of the item databases should take no more than 10-20 minutes. That sort of addition will be much appreciated by me, as well as other editors, I'm sure. --[[User:Cath|Cath]] 03:42, 24 Jul 2008 (CDT)

::Well, if I can't use the style most comfortable for me, then perhaps I should not contribute to this site. Unlike certain overzealous members here, I have limited time; I have school, a full-time job, volunteer work, and an active life away from the internet. I can't always get to everything I intend to, which is why I appreciate the idea of an empty category … If what gives me incentive is pointless to you, then I apologize for wasting your time.

::Perhaps someday in the future, I can find a way to contribute my six years worth of Neopets knowledge without failing to uphold your standards.

:::This is, you may have noticed, a form of Encyclopedia. Due to that, there are certain standards of appearance that should be similar in all articles to add to the cohesion of the encyclopedia as a whole. This is why articles must be in third person, why we have templates for games and battledome characters, and why most, if not all lists look nearly identical. You claimed that you want to follow the protocols of the NeoDex but now refuse to because you want to do it your way. I will tell you now that I don't have the style for the lists memorized... I just grab a list from another page and change the content of it. It's easy and takes less than a minute. Throwing your "life" in our faces is a bit arrogant, as well... We all have lives. We have things we need to do and little time to be here, which is why having stuff done properly is so important... if someone does it wrong, someone else has to come around and <b>fix</b> it.

:::If time is your issue, use what you have to compile the information/coding in a document that you work on a little at a time and, when complete, you can copy into the NeoDex. That's what I'm doing with petpet Colour release dates. I compile them in a google doc which is open for view to any user of the NeoDex, and, as sections get completed, I add them in. I've been working on it for over a year and it's still not done but that doesn't bother me, I know that it will get there eventually. --[[User:Cath|Cath]] 16:48, 24 Jul 2008 (CDT)

::::Don't call me arrogant, and don't confuse my message, m'kay? :) I find your feedback to be too personal, and therefore will not heed it. So, in the future, a more objective approach might suit you better for the position of authority that you place yourself in. :) --[[User:Cybridsovereign|Cybridsovereign]]

::::(And don't worry, this will be my last message, so you can clean up your page when you read this. No need for clutter.)

I feel the need to respond to these accusations as I feel them to be unfair. I'm not sure how these comments I've made are "personal". I don't know you, have no vendetta against you, and you are the one who posted here first, so you sought out this conversation. Everything I wrote was full of suggestions to make your work here easier. If you chose to take it in a poor light, that's not something I'm at fault for. This format of communication leaves much open to interpretation. Every time I have said something to contradict your assertions or your practices, I have supplied you with a suggestion for what would be more appropriate or an option that would give you the chance to do things your way and in your own time. These comments could only be considered "personal" in as much as they respond to an issue that you have brought up.

Waiving over my head your extremely busy lifestyle (including volunteer work) and your six years as a member of Neopets <b>is</b> arrogant. You're trying to make yourself sound better and more devoted to stuff away from the NeoDex at the same time you admit to having vast experience on a virtual pet site, which I'm amazed you have time for, with school, full time work, and volunteering... In case you're curious, I'm a full time student, I have a house I have to help run, a garden to tend, a choir to sing in, and a state-wide (Texas) conference to plan <b>and</b> I've been on Neopets for almost 8 years. But I didn't shove that in your face in my last post. I tried to address the issues you have regarding your limited time for the NeoDex and your unwillingness (due to discomfort) to follow the NeoDex's Encyclopedic Standards by giving you suggestions I had hoped would help you. Which, apparently you have decided to ignore or discredit.

Finally, I have no intention of deleting this conversation. Talk pages don't get deleted because they often cover issues that others might have questions about. --[[User:Cath|Cath]] 21:00, 24 Jul 2008 (CDT)
:I hope I got it all. Is there any way to limit moving of pages? I'm not sure what's possible within the wiki system, but is there an additional echelon of users we can add that is non-mod/sys-op but have the power to do redirects they get from showing that they're not vandals. That way basic people who create accounts can't do them? Oh, if someone could double check that I got all of the pages and the talk pages moved back, that would be great... should we even bother deleting all of the pages he created that are now redirects? -[[User:Cath|Cath]] 16:16, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
::I'll re-check to see if all attacks have been reverted. Multiple accounts/sock puppets should not be allowed period. The majority of wiki rulings here follow the consensus of main Wikipedia rulings. the "in a nutshell" section at the top. That alone should explain it's position.
{{construction|reason=Wikified update to NC Mall, properly explaining purpose and use}}

The '''NC Mall''' is a [[Neopets (website)|Neopets]] feature released into open beta on July 3, 2007, and officially launched . Its located in [[Neopia Central]]. It's operated by a Green [[Scorchio]].

Using this special online shop, users can spend real life money to buy ''Neocash'' (''NC'' for short). Users transfer money through [[Wikipedia:Paypal|Paypal]]. All items bought from the NC Mall had an expiration date of 180 days (90 during Beta), yet an update occurred on December 14, 2007, in which the majority of items no longer have a expiration date. There's also a [[Petpet Park NC Mall]] in [[Petpet Park]].

==Neocash==
:NeoCash is the system of virtual currency accepted by the NC mall. NeoCash can be obtained through PayPal, or by NeoCash cards. (''see below'') There has been controversy about spending real money over Neopoints, but The Neopets Team insists this is purely an extra feature, not necessary to use the Neopets website. Every $1 equals 100 NeoCash. You can win neocash from the Qasalan Expellibox.

==Neocash Card==
On October 17, 2007, the '''Neocash Card''' began their circulation in [[Wikipedia:Target Corporation|Target]] stores. The cards were sold for $10 or $25, each giving their respective amounts and eight different designs. For every Neocash card redeemed, a virtual item is given which couldn't be received anywhere else, and with all $25 cards an additional 150 NC was given when redeemed. In the United States, Neocash Cards can also be purchased at 7-Eleven, CVS Pharmacy, and selected Walmart stores.

==Controversy==
When the NC Mall first opened, items would expire in 180 days and many users disliked the idea of paying real money for something that would be taken away in 6 months. Since then none of the NC items on the site can expire, with the obvious exception of one-use items like game tickets and Mystery Capsules (which disappear after being opened). The NC [[NeoBoard]] occasionally has topics made by those protesting the idea of buying items with real currency as opposed to [[Neopoints]], stating that it breaks the promise that Neopets will be a free site.

==Trivia==
*During the official opening of the NC Mall, the image link in Neopia Central had animated flood lights and a giant float of the Green Scorchio as a large line strung out from the shops entrance.
*The most expensive item to buy from the NC Mall is the ''Down With NC Flag'', pricing at 5000 NC points, while the cheapest is ''I Heart NC Flag'', priced at 25 NC. This is an obvious joke on the part of [[The Neopets Team]], requiring users who want to proclaim their dislike of the NC Mall to buy the most expensive item.
*Category and images descriptions were added to the item categories on September 15, 2007, in order to better explain their content to users.
*On September 18, 2007, the NC Mall became available to English users in [[Wikipedia:Singapore|Singapore]], [[Wikipedia:Australia|Australia]], the [[Wikipedia:United Kingdom|United Kingdom]] and other countries.
*A special giveaway for Neocash Cards began on October 17, 2007.[http://www.neopets.com/mall/giveaway.phtml] Another giveaway was held in late 2011.[http://www.nickgamecard.com/giveaway/?ref=1]

{{construction|reason=Wikified update to NC Mall, properly explaining purpose and use}}

==Neocash==

As of 2008, 150 NC from the NC Mall can be collected free when they register.

==Neocash Card==

==Neocash==

As of 2008, 150 NC from the NC Mall can be collected free when they register.

==Neocash Card==

==Controversy==

==Trivia==

96.228.122.24: /* Trivia */

{{construction|reason=More complete article to write (explanation of "Frozen" and "freezing", how and why it happens, how it has effected the user community).}}

The term '''Frozen''' on [[Neopets (website)|Neopets]] refers to a blocked/banned/suspended/disabled user account which has broken the rules. Accounts which are frozen can no longer be accessed by the user, and all [[item]]s, [[Neopoint]]s and [[Neopets (species)|Neopets]] in the account no longer exist in [[Neopia]].

==Overview==
Users are frozen for serious infractions of the [[Neopets Terms and Conditions]]. Being frozen is usually permanent, although it is possible to petition [[The Neopets Team]] and convince them to un-freeze an account. Unfreezing is very rare, due to site moderators usually freezing users for a good reason. A frozen account will display this message on their [[User Lookup]]:

<blockquote>This account has been disabled.</blockquote>

Once the account is frozen, the user name and names of Neopets will stay logged into the database, preventing a user or Neopet from having those names. This stops the previous owner of the account from starting over or other users from potentially pretending to be that user.

Because of the several meanings of the word "[[wiktionary:frozen|frozen]]", slang for being frozen has been created over the years. It is often referred to as being ''iced'', sometimes with references to ''[[wikipedia:Iceland|Iceland]]''. Someone who is reporting another user for wrongdoing on the [[NeoBoard]]s may say "have fun in ''Iceland''" as an example.

==Warnings and Suspensions==
In cases of more minor infractions, a player may receive a warning or a suspension instead of having their accounts frozen.

An official warning from the Neopets Team will have a red exclamation mark in the event log, and it is a neomail from the Neopets Team with the message of telling the player what have they done wrong. Although a warning itself does not have any immediate effects to the player's account, the Neopets staff keeps track of the amount of warnings the user has received and the causes of the warnings, and being warned multiple times for violating the rules repeatedly could lead to the account being ultimately frozen.

In a suspension, a player's account may be suspended or temporarily disabled, which often serves as a warning to a user. A suspended account works the same as a frozen account, in that it cannot be accessed by the user (the main page and a few other pages can still be viewed, though). Unlike a freezing, a suspension will wear off after a certain period of time (acting as a temporary freeze). According to the terms and conditions, an account can be suspended for up to 72 hours; however, some users have been suspended longer, sometimes reaching over 100 hours. After the suspension wears off, the user has to confirm that he understands why he was suspended and has re-read the rules so that he won't do it again. After being given a suspension, it's possible to be frozen much more easily, due to a warning already being given to the user.

==Reasons for freezing==
A user is capable of being frozen for many different things on Neopets, all of which stem from infractions against the rules set in the term and conditions. The most serious infractions include...

#Abusing [[multiple accounts]] in order to earn a profit.
#Plagiarism, which includes stealing another's artwork, story, or even HTML/CSS coding.
#Accessing another's user account for any reason.
#Usage of profanity in username, pets, boards, and/or user lookups.
#Repeated spamming in the boards or sending chain mail.
#Harassment of a user or users.
#Scamming users.
#Falling for a scam. Accounts are usually returned after a scam pandemic is over, if there is one and the user is involved.
#Using cheat programs. According to the Terms and Conditions, one may have to pay a fine for using one.

==Controversy==
Many users have complained it is too easy to be frozen, and that freezing often occurs unfairly. However this was later changed when account suspensions were introduced in November 2004. However, with the introduction of account silencing in September 2010, both of the previous methods of punishment have been used more leniently.

==Trivia==
*Questions of how and why a user can be frozen are one of the most popular topics in the [[Neopian Times]] editorial, after questions seeking [[Esophagor]] quest answers.[http://www.neopets.com/ntimes/index.phtml?section=editorial&week=291]

The '''NeoBoard''' is a collection of boards which users can post messages to each other around the world pertaining to special topics. Several staff members named ''Moderators'' look over the NeoBoards, making sure users are following the rules. Users can also self-moderate by reporting a message to moderators which they think is unsuitable for Neopets. There is also a filter which prevents a user from using profanity or lewd conduct on the site. However, many users often use symbols or spaces or a combo of them to use profanity, and it isn't filtered.
There's also an Admin Board of DOOM, which can only be seen by TNT and moderators.

==Trivia==
*It is possible to make invisible boards on the NeoBoards by using square brackets to make what is written be processed as tags. This is a [[Frozen|freezable]] offence.
*There are several [[Wikipedia:Easter Egg (Media)|easter eggs]] that appear when certain messages are posted.
**'''Ghostbusters!''': Posting ''5514344'', the telephone number for the [[Wikipedia:Ghostbusters|Ghostbusters]] in the movie of the same name, causes ''Ghostbusters!'' to appear in its place
**'''Onion Glitch''': Whenever certain words (likely depending on length) are posted, followed by a hard return, an underscore would appear after it. If the word was followed by a punctuation mark, the underscore would appear before it. The word must begin with ''on'', but some shorter phrase, such as ''only'' do not cause this glitch. Words such as ''online'', and of course ''onion'', do, however.
**'''Jelly World''': Posting in the URL for [[Jelly World]] causes it to be blocked as if it was an off-site link.
**'''%5000 Glitch''': Although no longer active, posting ''%5000'' used to cause ''P00'' to be displayed in its place.
**'''Report me!''': If the phrase ''this is not a scam'' is posted, it is replaced automatically by ''This is a scam! Report me!''.
**'''Bikinis''': If the phrase ''bikini'' is posted, it is replaced with ''cardigan'', presumably to stop inappropriate conversations. .
**'''Talk like a Pirate''': On [[Wikipedia:International Talk Like a Pirate Day|talk like a pirate day]], some words would come out as common pirate words. For example, "see" turned to "spy" and "n00b" turned to "landlubber."
*http://images.neopets.com/neoboards/boardIcons/general.gif There used to be a General Chat board. It was removed because too many users were breaking rules and discussing things they shouldn't be. Its old URL is now used for event boards, such as [[Daily Dare]] and [[Neopia's Style Showdown]]. The Newbie Boards are now used as the General Chat.
**'''Twilight''': In 2009 with the release of Twilight Saga: New Moon, Neopets enabled a filter that changes Twilight related names and words to random words. This filter returned in 2010 and 2011 with the release of Twilight Saga: Eclipse and Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 respectively.

{{construction|reason=More complete article to write (explanation of "Frozen" and "freezing", how and why it happens, how it has effected the user community).}}

==Overview==

==Warnings and Suspensions==

==Reasons for freezing==

==Controversy==
Many users have complained it is too easy to be frozen, and that freezing often occurs unfairly. However this was later changed when account suspensions were introduced in November 2004. However, with the introduction of account silencing in September 2010, both of the previous methods of punishment have been used more leniently.

==Trivia==
*Questions of how and why a user can be frozen are one of the most popular topics in the [[Neopian Times]] editorial.
