'''8-Bit''' is one of the many [[colour]]s available to [[Neopet]]s and [[Petpet]]s. In general, 8-Bit pets resemble [[Wikipedia:Sprite_(computer_graphics)|game sprites]] from the [[Wikipedia:History of video game consoles (third_generation)|8-bit era]] of video games.

The 8-Bit colour for Neopets was released on March 22, 2011. Before [[Altador Cup VII], in which a Power-Up Potion was the top prize, the only way that users could change the colour of their Neopet to 8-Bit is by receiving a lucky zap from the [[Treasure Maps#Secret Laboratory|Lab Ray]].

The 8-Bit colour for Petpets was released on November 3, 2011. The only way that users can change the colour of their Petpet to 8-Bit is by receiving a lucky zap from the [[Treasure Maps#Petpet Laboratory|Petpet Lab Ray]].
