The '''Babyca''' is a [[Petpet]] with three [[Meerca]]-like tails released on August 19, 2003, the day after Meerca Day. Its name is a [[Wikipedia:Portmanteau|portmanteau]] of ''baby'' and ''Meerca'', however is not connected to the latter except in name and visual appearance. They are noted for being fast and mischievous, and quite a handful to look after.

Users can change the colour of their Neopets to Red by using a ''Red [[Paint Brush]]'' or a ''Starter Red Paint Brush'' [[item]] at the [[The Rainbow Pool|Rainbow Pool]]. In addition, the [[Treasure Maps#Secret Laboratory|Lab Ray]] also has a random chance of turning the colour of a user's Neopet to Red. Users also have the choice of changing their Neopet's colour to Red when they complete a [[Rainbow Fountain|Fountain Faerie Quest]]. A Neopet's colour can also be changed to Red by using an appropriate [[Morphing Potion]]. Lastly, there is a rare [[Random Event]] that will turn a Neopet's colour to Red if it is [[Neopet#mood|unhappy]].

The Red colour for Petpets was released on December 18, 2001. Petpets can be painted Red by using the ''Red [[Paint Brush#Petpet Paint Brush|Petpet Paint Brush]]'' item at the [[The Rainbow Pool#Petpet Puddle|Petpet Puddle]].
