===Gross Food===
Gross food is a special type of food that you don't see too much of in the regular shops. However, they can be obtained in many different ways, like in the dailies. Due to their easy to get nature, gross foods are often extremely cheap, especially on the shop wizard. An odd quirk is that when searched, gross foods do not have a "see if this item is in stock" or "find this item in the shop wizard" sign. But don't let that deter you from getting one if you need it (may be a kitchen quest requirement). You will usually find these under 100 NP in peoples' shops. If you feed your Neopet with Gross Food, they will gross out, saying gross words such as "Yuck!" of "That was fcking nasty :(".

===Healthy Food===
This is a pretty straight forward category. It includes veggies like broccoli and leeks. What you find at the health food shop is for the most part (except for Neopets food) is much what you may find in a health food store--lots of fresh fruits and veggies, vitamins, veggie burgers, granola bars, etc.

===Slushie===
A slushie is basically the same thing as a smoothie except that it looks different and does not come in different sizes. Some slushies look very odd.

===Tropical Food===
These foods are sold on Mystery Island and are the centerpiece to [[Gadgadsbogen]]. There are quite a number of tropical foods, with new ones released every year around March 4th. Usually, there are a number of tropical foods retired on [[Gadgadsbogen]], replaced with the new ones released on that day.

===Aquatic Food===
Food which is bought from [[Maraqua]]. As of July 2008, the only store which sells Aquatic food is [[Kelp]], though there used to be an official store in Old Maraqua, and some food items are given out as prizes for such things as the [[Advent Calender]]. Food of this type is sometimes confused with food which comes from [[Underwater Fishing]], though food from there is of the basic subtype "Food".

Smoothies are foods that come in different sizes, such as small, medium, large, and mega. Several smoothie flavours are very gross yet not considered a gross food.

===Snow Food===
Snow Food is basically food that looks like it's been sculpted from snow or has snow in it or on it. Beware of that Lenny though, if you haggle with him over something for too long he will eventually say something rude like "BEGONE!" Just how is that supposed to be a way to attract customers?

Spooky food is one of the more important foods in Neopets. The [[Esophagor]] and even the [[Kitchen Quest]]s may need some of it, and it is important to the [[Brain Tree]] Quests as well. Spooky food pretty much comes in 2 types: the cheap mass consumption types that are available in user stores for 100 NP or less, and the super rare foods that sell for tens of thousands of [[Neopoints]]. Spooky foods may be bought in the shop at the [[Deserted Fairground]], or bought on the [[Shop Wizard]].

These are sold by Hubert in the hot dog store, located at the Neopian Bazaar. It includes some exotic flavours and toppings not usually found in a hot dog, but Hubert also sells foods you might find at the hot dog stand on the street, like corn dogs, jacket potatoes, and anything else that may include a hot dog somewhere in it.

Jelly food, unlike many other types of food, can only be bought in [[Jelly World]]. A weird thing about jelly food is that if you search for them in the search bar and then click on them and then click the "See if this item is in stock!" button, an error message comes up.

Medieval food usually consists of gruel, stones, berries that you can get from Pick Your Own, etc., which most can be purchased at (usually) low prices at Meridell Foods with the exception of the Pick Your Own berries.

For those too poor to afford food for their pet, the [[Soup Faerie]] will fill their needs. The Soup Faerie can't be fooled, she knows how much money you have in the [[bank]] as well as your shop till.

Gourmet foods are expensive foods that count for the [[Gourmet Club]]. Gourmet foods that a pet has eaten are automatically kept track of. Pets that have eaten the most gourmet food get a trophy or an honorary member card on their user page. Remember, gourmet foods must have a rating of 90-100 and are consequently very difficult to get, although there are a few that are cheap.

'''TPOSG''', or ''The Phantom Orange Shirt Guy'', is a German member of [[The Neopets Team]]. Real name ''Ollie'', TPOSG is mostly famous for the many [[Wikipedia:Easter egg (media)|Easter eggs]] he leaves in some of his flash games, usually featuring himself.

He received the name ''The Phantom Orange Shirt Guy'' after a [[Petpage]] dedicated to [http://www.neopets.com/sitespotlight.phtml?place=423 Neopets Oddities]' won the [[Site Spotlight]]. The Petpage listed many of his Easter egg appearances, and wondered who he was. The name is based on the fact that he was almost always pictured in an orange shirt, and left very little evidence of himself, other than the brief appearances.

He left Neopets sometime early 2008 to work again for Adam and Donna for [http://www.meteorgames.com/ Meteorgames]. He does come play Neopets when he gets the chance but he is no longer part of TNT staff.

In the first round, he beat [[Tyrannia]]'s [[Dom Dread]] and went on to defeat [[Mystery Island]]'s [[Subordinate Prime]] and [[Altador]]'s [[El Picklesaur]]. In the final, his winning streak won him first place against [[snarkie]], who was playing for [[Virtupets Space Station]].
