Avatars are graphic icons (sized 50 by 50 pixels) which are displayed next to a user's username when you send a NeoMail or post a message in the NeoBoards. You can change your avatar by going to the NeoBoards and clicking Chat Preferences.

Overview
There are 56 default avatars which are provided to players automatically, depicting every Neopet and common Faerie, but there are currently over 300 secret avatars which can be unlocked. To find these, users must perform tasks such as getting a high score at a flash game (Score 10,000+ points in Snow Wars II), visiting a particular page (View the Grey Faerie's Neopedia article), or equipping their pet with a certain Battledome Equipment (own a Grarrl and equip it with Bony Grarrl Club). These are just a few ways to acquire them.

When certain items are needed for an avatar, it can boost the item's price considerably. Such an example is use of the Nerkmid, making them almost unbuyable due to the large price. When items used to get avatars can be reused (i.e. don't disappear), users can lend them out (for collateral or for free) so others can obtain the avatar without having to buy the item themselves. Some users do this with Neopets, as certain types of Neopets yield different avatars (different colours, the age of the Neopet or Petpet which is attached to it, etc.). Neopet lending is risky, as transferring a Neopet through the Neopian Pound does not guarantee it will reach the correct destination owner (though it is now much safer) and be returned to the original owner.

Avatar collecting is also a contest to some users, and a high score list exists, giving an avatar itself for having the very top positions.

Avatar Examples
<!-- Please do NOT add any more avatars to the list unless absalutly nessesary. We aren't making a full list of avatars, because that will way to long to fit on the page so we are gust saving some time by making just a list of examples. -->
Boochi is a Baby Bruce who wields a ray gun that can turn Neopets into babies. Since January 15, 2003, Boochi has been appearing in a Random Event in which he changes the colour of a user's active Neopet to Baby. Also, as of April 16, 2010, Boochi's Random Event no longer affects unconverted Neopets. A visit from Boochi can be seen as either a positive or negative event, depending on whether a user likes or dislikes the Baby colour.

Boochi is also one of the many one-player challengers that can be fought in the Battledome. Users will unlock Boochi in the Battledome after they receive either one of his Random Events.

<!-- do NOT add any more avatars to the list. We are not making a comprehensive list of avatars, just a list of examples. -->

|Ratio=10:100}}Adee the Chia has been eating too much Ice Cream. Ice Cream for breakfast, Ice Cream for lunch and Ice Cream for dinner. In fact, she has eaten so much that she's starting to get some pretty strange dreams! In her latest one she is trapped within a giant Ice Cream Machine, and must dodge the killer scoops that are trying to hit her... this time the Ice Cream is out for revenge!

How to play
In the game, the user controls Adee by moving the mouse - Adee will follow it. Scoops of ice cream will be fired up the screen, and Adee must avoid them. Each scoop dodged is worth 5 points, and toppings on scoops multiply the score. If she gets hit, she will lose a life.

There are several special ice cream scoops. These can be distinguished from dangerous scoops by the icons they possess. Should Adee hit them, a corresponding special effect will occur:

*The Strawberry Bomb scoop will explode and clear all the scoops on the screen.
*The Scoop Shield scoop will surround Adee in a temporary shield that allows her to move through dangerous ice cream with no consequences.
*The Small Adee scoop will shrink Adee.
*The Large Adee scoop will grow Adee.
*The Plus scoop will speed up the rate of scoop fire.
*The Minus scoop will slow down the rate of scoop fire.
*The Fish scoop will award Adee 250 points.
*The Cherry scoop will award Adee 100 points.

Right-clicking is an instant game over. However, there is no issue with moving the mouse outside the play area to teleport past obstacles.

Stages
In each stage, you need to dodge a set amount of Ice Cream scoops. Initially, there are 25, and 25 more for each additional level. Once the quota is dodged, scoops will stop appearing and all remaining scoops on screen will travel until they leave the play area.

Should she get hit, she will lose a life.

Ugga Smash is an action and multiplayer game released on November 21, 2006.

The Tyrannian Plateau has never seen a demolition derby like this before! Are you tough enough to ram one of four vehicles into your opponents as you swerve and speed across the rocky flats of Tyrannia?

The goal of Ugga Smash is to crash your way to victory by bashing your vehicle into those of the other players. There are four different vehicles to choose from and a whole host of powerups to help you (or perhaps hurt you) along the way. Challenge up to three of your friends and play on the same keyboard using the four different keyboard controls, or take on the computer by yourself. Only the strong will survive, so get smashing!
Bumper Cars is the original version of Ugga Smash, released on (need date). It was immediately retired when Ugga Smash was released, and was placed in the Game Graveyard on November 28, 2006.

Bang and Smash your way to the top in our new game - BUMPER CARS. Up to 4 players can play at the same time! For 1 player use the arrow keys to move left right, accelerate and brake. If you wish to play with more than one person at the keyboard, each person gets to use their own keys (it will tell you which keys when you start playing).
Trivia
*There is a Book titled Bumper Cars Guide Book which contains tips to win a Bumper Cars trophy. However reading or having this book in your inventory does not effect the users score.
