==Controversy==
When the NC Mall first opened, items would expire in 180 days and many users disliked the idea of paying real money for something that would be taken away in 6 months. Since then none of the NC items on the site can expire, with the obvious exception of one-use items like game tickets and Mystery Capsules (which disappear after being opened). The NC [[NeoBoard]] occasionally has topics made by those protesting the idea of buying items with real currency as opposed to [[Neopoints]], stating that it breaks the promise that Neopets will be a free site.

==Trivia==
*During the official opening of the NC Mall, the image link in Neopia Central had animated flood lights and a giant float of the Green Scorchio as a large line strung out from the shops entrance.
*The most expensive item to buy from the NC Mall is the ''Down With NC Flag'', pricing at 5000 NC points, while the cheapest is ''I Heart NC Flag'', priced at 25 NC. This is an obvious joke on the part of [[The Neopets Team]], requiring users who want to proclaim their dislike of the NC Mall to buy the most expensive item.

The '''Winter Starlight Celebration''' is a month long celebration on [[Terror Mountain]] during the month of December, and is the winter count part of the [[The Haunted Faire]].

While the celebration is ongoing, it links to the [[Advent Calendar]], a list of winter-related [[games]], the [[Neocash]] event [[Stocking Stufftacular]], [[Key Quest]], [[NeoGreetings]] and the gift tag page. In 2011 Key Quest was removed from the Celebration, and instead replaced with a hibernating [[Snowager]].

==Controversy==
Originally when the Snowager went into hibernation, he was able to be visited once every 2 hours (possibility of 12 visits per day). Because of the hibernation, the Snowager would not blast anyone for the whole duration of the month. However TNT later changed the visits, citing it was suppose to be once a day. This led to complaints that it was "pointless", "unfair", and "sudden", considering the Snowager could originally be visited 3 times per day (with a chance of getting blasted and receiving an avatar).

The '''Snowager''' is a giant ice worm who lives in the [[Ice Caves]], guarding an enormous hoard of treasure. Cold as ice and extremely mean, the Snowager is renowned for its freezing cold breath. While he sleeps for only a few hours a day, players may choose those times to approach and try to steal some of his hoard. The Snowager may based on the [[wikipedia:European dragon|dragons of European folklore]], who in many stories - [[wikipedia:Beowulf|Beowulf]], [[wikipedia:Fafnir|Fafnir]] - guarded treasure. He first appeared on 11 January 2001.

The Snowager's Cave was added to the Ice Caves map on January 11, 2001. Through this cave is where the ice worm was first introduced.

The Snowager only sleeps between 6-7 AM, 2-3 PM, and 10-11 PM, [[Neopia Standard Time]]. During these times, it is possible to sneak in and grab a prize from the pile of treasure he rests on. Prizes range from [[Negg]]s to medicine to [[Plushie|plushies]]. The Snowager can also wake up and deal damage to your active pet, or even to all of them, by delivering a powerful icy blast.

The Snowager is an NPC in NeoQuest II, and contrary to his terrorising role in the Ice Caves, in the simulation he keeps order in [[Terror Mountain]]'s roads of avalanches, as well as eating various monsters in the mountain, which are actually the ship's data routes and the ship's viruses respectively. He is imprisoned by [[Scuzzy]] and it is the job of Rohane and his party to defeat [[Scuzzy]] and free the Snowager. After Scuzzy is defeated the Snowager is free and reveals himself as a sentient program in charge of maintaining the ship's computers, but that a virus has been installed and now has control of the ship's computers.

When the NC Mall first opened, items would expire in 180 days and many users disliked the idea of paying real money for something that would be taken away in 6 months. Since then none of the NC items on the site can expire, with the obvious exception of one-use items like game tickets and Mystery Capsules (which disappear after being opened). The NC [[NeoBoard]] occasionally has topics made by those protesting the idea of buying items with real currency as opposed to [[Neopoints]], stating that it breaks the promise that Neopets will be a free site.

*During the official opening of the NC Mall, the image link in Neopia Central had animated flood lights and a giant float of the Green Scorchio as a large line strung out from the shops entrance.
