'''Adam J. Powell''' (born December 20, 1976 in Wales) is the co-founder of [[Neopets]]. Jointly launched the website with [[Donna Williams]] on November 15, 1999, starting from an idea they had in 1997 while sitting in a dingy little computer room, possibly while eating kebabs or pizza.

Prior to founding Neopets, he was also involved in ''Shout! Advertising'', a UK-based advertising company which operated the third largest click-through program on the Internet by mid-1999. He also founded Netmagic in July 1999, which focused on web page design, and Powlex in March 1997, which designed and sold online banner advertising. Mr. Powell currently focuses on the technical and programming aspects of the Neopets website, and is still the head of the developers for the game.

Powell is mentioned in the hall of fame at his secondary school, Collingwood College, although he had a self-described "spectacular failure at university." He is also a former member of ''MENSA'' with an [[IQ]] of 174.

Powell has two cats in California called Sarah and Chani. In the United Kingdom he has four cats called Oscar, Daisy, Bill and Ben.

References to Mr. Powell's craving for [[Asparagus]] exist throughout the Neopets website. The reason for this fascination, because he likes them or flaunts them because most people don't, is not known. All the same, if you type in "Asparagus" on the Neopets search engine, Adam will show up and say, "You can't have it, it's all MINE!" (also when users click on parts of certain games, small buttons pop up with a variation of this quote printed upon it). On Mr. Powell's birthday, every Neopet becomes asparagus! He also has 4 out of the 5 of his pets on his user account as Asparagus [[Chia]]s. The other is a Red [[Bori]], which is usually in its "sad" pose.

He is occasionally called '''Number Six''', a nickname taken from the 60s show ''The Prisoner'', and also has a [[Plushie]] named after him on the site. There is also a highly sought after [[Avatar]] related to him, to get this you must have exactly the same amount of [[Neopoint]]s as his account, viewable at the Neopets [http://www.neopets.com/aboutus.phtml About Us] page.

Adam visits the [[PinkPT|PPT Forum]] occasionally to interact with the users and keep tabs on how the populace view new features. He even sometimes lets the users see features before they are released! Often when he comes, he takes on board user suggestions on how to improve the website.

Florin had lived his whole life on a small farm. Each day he rise with the sun, to tend his crops and feed the Petpets he raised on his farm. Though Florin worked hard from dawn to dusk, he greatly enjoyed his simple life. 

One day, while going into town to buy more Petpet feed, Florin noticed a group of farmers talking. Apparently, some strange blight was afflicting their crops, and unless something was done, a whole season of food would be lost. 

Florin asked one of the farmers to show him one of these sick plants. The farmer led Florin to his nearby field, a third of which had been consumed by some terrible disease that had turned the plants black. 

Florin had spent much of his life studying plants. Though his own crops were unaffected, he spent days trudging through dangerous woods, looking for a rare plant that few knew existed. 

Days later, as the villagers were just about ready to give up hope, Florin returned, carrying a satchel that was filled with a strange herb they had never seen before. The Kacheek quickly ground up the dry herbs and mixed them into a large trough of water. He then instructed the other farmers to take a bucket and pour the water onto their afflicted plants. Within days, the blight had vanished, and though Florin's own crops wilted from neglect, the villagers were more than happy to share their crops with him. 

Tales of his selfless deed soon reached others, and that is how Florin came to meet King Altador and become the future overseer of the kingdom's plentiful farms.</blockquote>

The '''Altador Cup''' was announced by [[Neopets]] on May 31, 2006, to commence one the June 2, 2006. It is a sporting event with teams from sixteen Neopian worlds of the planet participating.

The game played to win the Cup is called Yooyuball. The gameplay appears to be based on [[Wikipedia:Jai_alai|Jai alai]]. The ball is actually a rolled up petpet called a [[Yooyu]], and comes in several different varieties: fire, snow, [[Mutant]] and [[Faerie]].

The role of the user and the system of play is still unclear. It is believed that either players will be supporting (and maybe betting) on their team, or that they will be be playing as part of their team so-called, in a localised competition rather than a community-wide competition. Users could select the team they wish to join/support and change teams if they wish until June 8, 2006.

==Plot Summary==
On June 2, all teams from around Neopia gathered to practice for the games ahead of them, and countless Neopians gathered to watch their favorites take the field. Inbetween practices, most of the players would go and meet their fans, signing autographs. Five days later and the day before the games began, [[Kiko Lake]]'s Left Forward [[Holbie Pinnock]] was injured due to [[Relle Felson]]'s sling breaking and flying off into Holbie's head, taking him out of the games. [[Helmo Timm]], the one Holbie was replacing, immediatly asked to be put back in the game to play, or Kiko Lake would likely not win their games.

==Altador Cup - Team So-Call==
Sixteen [[Neopian]] worlds participated, each sending a team to compete in the Colleseum in Altador. There was also a seventeenth team, the practice team, who appear to be from [[Jelly World]], whose players are unknown.
