The '''National Neopian Bank''' is the center of all commerce within all [[Neopia]]. Residing within [[Neopia Central]], all [[Neopet]]s and users keep their [[Neopoints]] safely placed within this bank's secure storage safes. Users who have a certain number of [[NP]] placed within their walls have a special interest rate they can place on their stored money, netting them a yearly interest.

Originally, the National Neopian worked like a real bank, and users could take out loans as of March 21, 2000. Accounts began to be debited on March 23, 2000, taking an amount of NP each day. On May 20, 2000, this feature was taken away and never came back because too many users were abusing the system.

Added February 29, 2000, the safety deposit box is a free service provided with an account at the National Neopian. It can store as many items as a user wants. Any items kept in your safety deposit box are safe from the [[Pant Devil]], [[Sludging]] etc. It also means users can carry more items, clearing their [[inventory]]. You can get your Safety Deposit Box by clicking on the ''Shops'' task bar button and then on the safe image in the toolbar.
