'''Petpets''' (sometimes ''PetPets'') are pets for a user's [[Neopet]]. A class of [[items]] created on September 27, 2000, they can be attached to a Neopet much like [[Battledome Equipment]]. Most Petpets can be purchased in official Neopian [[shops]], but some are gained only by other activities, such as using the [[Cooking Pot]].

For a long time, Petpets could not be painted, but this was changed on October 2, 2001 with the introduction of the [[Petpet Paint Brush]], which is used at the [[Petpet Puddle]]. Later, on August 3, 2005, the [[Petpet Lab Ray]] was introduced. Like the Neopet [[Lab Ray]], the Petpet equivalent can alter a Petpet's [[colour]] and other statistics, such as species, level and name. The Petpet even has a chance of being completely destroyed.

A Petpet can also gain levels at the [[Petpet Battledome]] and by waking the [[Turmaculus]], but its levels will not be retained if the Petpet is ever removed from its Neopet. This is, so far, the only tournament which hasn't commenced on the usual June 1st date.

Yooyuball plays as a [[Wikipedia:Adobe Flash|flash]] game, where users can play with use of the mouse and keyboard. Before each game of Yooyuball begins, users choose the formation they want their players to stand in and select which direction they would like to move the ball down the field. Using the mouse, users point at the player they want to move around, which will select the player. The selected player can be guided around the field using the mouse. When a player has possession of the ball, clicking the left mouse button throws the ball.

If a user wanted to deselect a player, they pressed the space bar or the ''S'' key. When none of the players were selected, they can clicked anywhere on the field to move the closest player to the position they clicked on. To toggle between players, users press the left and right arrow keys (or the ''A'' and ''D'' keys). Users can activate a player when toggling between them by pressing the space bar. Pressing the Shift key to moves players back to their starting positions.

A new rule was added on June 24, 2006, which would make the Yooyu jump from a ''Keeper's'' hands if it stayed there longer than 5 seconds. It is believed this was implemented because too many users were scoring a single goal then letting the ''Keeper'' hold onto the ball for the remainder of play, scoring an automatic win.

Between each goal, a cutscene is played, showing either the goal, the crowd, or - added in 2007 - the Yooyuball selection machines beneath the arena. While the cutscene is playing, game time is still used up, but a 'continue' button appears after a short delay allowing the user to skip most of the animation. An animation accompanies the introduction of each Yooyu to the field, also, but this can be skipped using the space bar.

The Altador Cup Committee is a group of officials who carefully examine each play, making sure the rules of Yooyuball are followed. Players or fans who feel something needs to be reviewed can file a petition, and the committee will decide whether or not to rule on the matter. Once both sides of the issue are heard, the committee gathers in its private chambers to discuss the situation and vote on an appropriate course of action. Some feel they are too strict, but it's the committee's decisions which maintain the integrity of the game, and the committee members' actions are always motivated by a desire to protect the game's best interests.

It was the Committee which sent invitations to the worlds of Neopia in 2006, asking to participate in the first Altador Cup tournament in 1000 years. It's also assumed the Committee is a front for the actions taken by [[The Neopets Team]], who make sure the game is fair and balanced for all users.

The Altador Cup Tournament consists of sixteen teams representing the lands of Neopia. In total from previous years, eighteen worlds have participated, each sending a team to compete in the Colosseum in Altador. Users could only support one team at a time, and could only switch to another between rounds (only in the 2006 games). In 2007, the Kreludor team was replaced with Shenkuu. Why this was done was released in a statement by [[Derlyn Fonnet]], explaining that the 'muscle and bone' density of Kreludor was different of that to Neopia. To the happiness of many fans, Kreludor shall return for the 2008 tournament. However, it has been confirmed that Kiko Lake will not participate because of a travel issue.

Only sixteen teams were available for users to play, but a 17th team came from [[Jelly World]], which has participated as the practice team for both years. While the members of the team are unknown, it's known the ''Goalkeeper'' is a Jelly [[Kougra]] and the forwards a Jelly [[Kau]] and [[Usul]].

==Non-Paint Brush Painting==
Paint brushes can change a pet into most of its available colours, but not necessarily all. Some colours are only available via the [[Lab Ray]] including [[Robot]], Ice, Sponge, and [[MSP]]. Any colour (except Baby, Pirate, Plushie, Quiguki, Royal, and Usuki) can be given by the lab ray without need of a paint brush. Additionally, there is no Mutant Paint Brush; the only away of obtaining a mutant pet is for a player to use a Transmogrification Potion of the species he or she wants on the pet, or to get it through the lab or [[Rainbow Fountain]]. Players sometimes accidentally feed Potions to their pets, thinking they will get the colour or species change but only using it on the pet gets the desired effect.

Often, Morphing Potions and Magical Plushies are available to change a Neopet into a different species and/or colour, and are, for some of the more popular combinations, a much cheaper option that a paint brush.

Additionally, all fruit/vegetable colours (other than Strawberry) can not be obtained with a Paint Brush. These are available with a [[Magical Chia Pop]], through the Lab Ray, or the [[Rainbow Fountain]]. Chia Pops, with very few exceptions, only work on Chias. They will not turn a player's pet into a Chia.

With the exception of a few Chia fruit/vegetable colours, there are some colours that are available to only one or two pet species. Examples of this? No pet other than the [[Aisha]] can be "Alien," and Usuki paint brushes only work on [[Usul]]s and [[Quiggle]]s.

==Unusable Paint Brushes==
Very rarely, a paint brush colour is retired. The paint brushes become unusable (and in the case of the Unicorn brush, disappear completely) and pets painted the retired colour no longer remain it, but may be changed to a newer version. An example of this occurred on the 8th of January, 2002, when the Glass Paint Brush was retired, and replaced with the Tyrannian Paint Brush. Some of the glass pets were turned into the newer Tyrannian versions (the Shoyru was one of the first Tyrannian Pets), while the others remained as glass pets as a Tyrannian version was being made for each of them. A [[Petpet]] Paint Brush is designed for painting Petpets a specific colour. They work much in the same way as a Paint Brush for Neopets - they are used at the [[Petpet Puddle]], akin to the Rainbow Pool, to paint a Petpet attached to a user's Neopet.

Interestingly, many colours that Neopets cannot obtain with a Paint Brush, only with alternative means such as via the [[Secret Laboratory]], are available as a Paint Brush for Petpets, such as [[Robot]] or [[Mutant]] colours.

==Non-Paint Brush Painting==
Paint brushes can change a pet into most of its available colours, but not necessarily all. Some colours are only available via the [[Lab Ray]] including [[Robot]], Ice, Sponge, and [[MSP]]. Any colour (except Baby, Pirate, Plushie, Quiguki, Royal, and Usuki) can be given by the lab ray without need of a paint brush. Additionally, there is no Mutant Paint Brush; the only away of obtaining a mutant pet is for a player to use a Transmogrification Potion of the species he or she wants on the pet, or to get it through the lab or [[Rainbow Fountain]]. Players sometimes accidentally feed Potions to their pets, thinking they will get the colour or species change but only using it on the pet gets the desired effect.

Often, Morphing Potions and Magical Plushies are available to change a Neopet into a different species and/or colour, and are, for some of the more popular combinations, a much cheaper option that a paint brush.

Additionally, all fruit/vegetable colours (other than Strawberry) can not be obtained with a Paint Brush. These are available with a [[Magical Chia Pop]], through the Lab Ray, or the [[Rainbow Fountain]]. Chia Pops, with very few exceptions, only work on Chias. They will not turn a player's pet into a Chia.

With the exception of a few Chia fruit/vegetable colours, there are some colours that are available to only one or two pet species. Examples of this? No pet other than the [[Aisha]] can be "Alien," and Usuki paint brushes only work on [[Usul]]s and [[Quiggle]]s.

==Unusable Paint Brushes==
Very rarely, a paint brush colour is retired. The paint brushes become unusable (and in the case of the Unicorn brush, disappear completely) and pets painted the retired colour no longer remain it, but may be changed to a newer version. An example of this occurred on the 8th of January, 2002, when the Glass Paint Brush was retired, and replaced with the Tyrannian Paint Brush. Some of the glass pets were turned into the newer Tyrannian versions (the Shoyru was one of the first Tyrannian Pets), while the others remained as glass pets as a Tyrannian version was being made for each of them. Some worlds do not have a paint brush but are still related in some way to the world to fit in. These colors can be received by other means then painting.

==Non-Paint Brush Painting==
Paint brushes can change a pet into most of its available colours, but not necessarily all. Some colours are only available via the [[Lab Ray]] including [[Robot]], Ice, Sponge, and [[MSP]]. Any colour (except Baby, Pirate, Plushie, Quiguki, Royal, and Usuki) can be given by the lab ray without need of a paint brush. Additionally, there is no Mutant Paint Brush; the only away of obtaining a mutant pet is for a player to use a Transmogrification Potion of the species he or she wants on the pet, or to get it through the lab or [[Rainbow Fountain]]. Players sometimes accidentally feed Potions to their pets, thinking they will get the colour or species change but only using it on the pet gets the desired effect.

Often, Morphing Potions and Magical Plushies are available to change a Neopet into a different species and/or colour, and are, for some of the more popular combinations, a much cheaper option that a paint brush.

Additionally, all fruit/vegetable colours (other than Strawberry) can not be obtained with a Paint Brush. These are available with a [[Magical Chia Pop]], through the Lab Ray, or the [[Rainbow Fountain]]. Chia Pops, with very few exceptions, only work on Chias. They will not turn a player's pet into a Chia.

With the exception of a few Chia fruit/vegetable colours, there are some colours that are available to only one or two pet species. Examples of this? No pet other than the [[Aisha]] can be "Alien," and Usuki paint brushes only work on [[Usul]]s and [[Quiggle]]s.

==Unusable Paint Brushes==
Very rarely, a paint brush colour is retired. The paint brushes become unusable (and in the case of the Unicorn brush, disappear completely) and pets painted the retired colour no longer remain it, but may be changed to a newer version. An example of this occurred on the 8th of January, 2002, when the Glass Paint Brush was retired, and replaced with the Tyrannian Paint Brush. Some of the glass pets were turned into the newer Tyrannian versions (the Shoyru was one of the first Tyrannian Pets), while the others remained as glass pets as a Tyrannian version was being made for each of them. ==Petpet Paint Brush==
A [[Petpet]] Paint Brush is designed for painting Petpets a specific colour. They work much in the same way as a Paint Brush for Neopets - they are used at the [[Petpet Puddle]], akin to the Rainbow Pool, to paint a Petpet attached to a user's Neopet.

Interestingly, many colours that Neopets cannot obtain with a Paint Brush, only with alternative means such as via the [[Secret Laboratory]], are available as a Paint Brush for Petpets, such as [[Robot]] or [[Mutant]] colours.

Firstly, many of you may have noticed the influx of new users to Neopets. This is good! We're happy to have the opportunity to entertain so many people around the world! However, while we have over 200+ servers to handle this load, it seems that's just not enough for the millions of visitors we have every day, and we aren't able to upgrade fast enough to keep up! The NeoCharge system helps make sure that users only load the pages they need to, and don't constantly refresh over and over, using up valuable resources. Secondly, with inflation climbing higher every day, we needed to find a way of stabilizing the economy. So there you have it - the two major reasons behind NeoCharge. And we're not done with it! We will constantly review the system to make sure it's doing its job. Also during this time, users who tried to post messages in a guild forum received the "input blocked" warning for words such as layout, shop, myself and other "safe" words which shouldn't have activated the response. Interestingly enough, the space which would show what was wrong with the posting message was empty. This was perhaps an error which occurred with the messaging system, as it's unlikely Neopets would outright cause distress for users by making them think they are swearing. Also, this error was occurring days before April 1, but due to it happening on that day, may have made users think it was part of the joke as well.

The first reference to Jelly World was in the New Features section on 30th March 2002, where it says "...and of course the upcoming new world 'Jelly World'...". Countless times [[The Neopets Team]] has denied the existence of Jelly World (which, interestingly, was TNT's first reaction to [[Robot]] Neopets). Jelly World has had several links to it by people claiming it exists throughout Neopia, including one in a quote by [[Number Five]] in [[Cellblock]], but many the links are dead ends, similar to some of the links given to the [[Hidden Tower]].

The most notable attraction is the [[Giant Jelly]], similar to the [[Giant Omelette]] in [[Tyrannia]], which gives out a free piece of jelly to its visitors once per day, unless it has run out. Should it have done so, it is regularly replaced. Each piece of jelly gives two servings.

The games [[Jelly Blobs of Doom]] and [[Bouncy Supreme]] are also available, and cannot be reached from the standard Games page, even by searching for them.

To toggle between players, users press the left and right arrow keys (or the ''A'' and ''D'' keys). Users can activate a player when toggling between them by pressing the space bar. Pressing the Shift key to moves players back to their starting positions.

A new rule was added on June 24, 2006, which would make the Yooyu jump from a ''Keeper's'' hands if it stayed there longer than 5 seconds. It is believed this was implemented because too many users were scoring a single goal then letting the ''Keeper'' hold onto the ball for the remainder of play, scoring an automatic win.

Between each goal, a cutscene is played, showing either the goal, the crowd, or - added in 2007 - the Yooyuball selection machines beneath the arena. Once both sides of the issue are heard, the committee gathers in its private chambers to discuss the situation and vote on an appropriate course of action. Some feel they are too strict, but it's the committee's decisions which maintain the integrity of the game, and the committee members' actions are always motivated by a desire to protect the game's best interests.

It was the Committee which sent invitations to the worlds of Neopia in 2006, asking to participate in the first Altador Cup tournament in 1000 years. It's also assumed the Committee is a front for the actions taken by [[The Neopets Team]], who make sure the game is fair and balanced for all users.

The Altador Cup Tournament consists of sixteen teams representing the lands of Neopia. In total from previous years, eighteen worlds have participated, each sending a team to compete in the Colosseum in Altador. Users could only support one team at a time, and could only switch to another between rounds (only in the 2006 games). In 2007, the Kreludor team was replaced with Shenkuu. Why this was done was released in a statement by [[Derlyn Fonnet]], explaining that the 'muscle and bone' density of Kreludor was different of that to Neopia. To the happiness of many fans, Kreludor shall return for the 2008 tournament. However, it has been confirmed that Kiko Lake will not participate because of a travel issue.

Only sixteen teams were available for users to play, but a 17th team came from [[Jelly World]], which has participated as the practice team for both years. While the members of the team are unknown, it's known the ''Goalkeeper'' is a Jelly [[Kougra]] and the forwards a Jelly [[Kau]] and [[Usul]].

It was the Committee which sent invitations to the worlds of Neopia in 2006, asking to participate in the first Altador Cup tournament in 1000 years. It's also assumed the Committee is a front for the actions taken by [[The Neopets Team]], who make sure the game is fair and balanced for all users.
 

===Team rosters===
The Altador Cup Tournament consists of sixteen teams representing the lands of Neopia. In total from previous years, eighteen worlds have participated, each sending a team to compete in the Colosseum in Altador. Users could only support one team at a time, and could only switch to another between rounds (only in the 2006 games). In 2007, the Kreludor team was replaced with Shenkuu. Why this was done was released in a statement by [[Derlyn Fonnet]], explaining that the 'muscle and bone' density of Kreludor was different of that to Neopia. To the happiness of many fans, Kreludor shall return for the 2008 tournament. However, it has been confirmed that Kiko Lake will not participate because of a travel issue.

Only sixteen teams were available for users to play, but a 17th team came from [[Jelly World]], which has participated as the practice team for both years. While the members of the team are unknown, it's known the ''Goalkeeper'' is a Jelly [[Kougra]] and the forwards a Jelly [[Kau]] and [[Usul]].

Added in the 2007 games, '''Slushie Slinger''' is an game users could play for lower points besides playing Yooyuball. Users play the role of a Red [[Tuskaninny]] waitress at the Slushie Concession Stand, and must serve impatient fans (Red [[Nimmo]], Purple [[Tonu]], Yellow [[Ogrin]], etc.) their [[slushie]]s while Yooyuball games play. Depending on what team the user joined, the Slushie Concession Stand would be the team's official slushie stand. Players would lose a life every time an empty slushie bottle falls to the floor or if the customers reach the end of the counter.
 

==Make Some Noise==

Added in the 2007 games, '''Make Some Noise''' is an game users could play for lower points besides playing Yooyuball. Assuming the role of the [[Techo Fanatic]], users must cheer as loud as they can by tapping two randomly chosen keys together, raising the sound meter, for as long as they can in 30 seconds, then (though this is not necessary) pressing the spacebar before the time runs out. Depending on what team the user joined, the Techo Fanatic would be seen wearing that teams shirt, and cheering for them.

Unlike regular plots where the plot was written by The Neopets Team, the plot was directed by the collective users on Neopets, and how well they played together in each of their selected teams. A plot summary was written after play to act out who won in each cause. Also, each year had their own methods of participation, and how the plot would progress.

==Staff Tournament==
As another part of the Altador Cup, The Neopets Team participates in a tournament play of their own. They did this in 2006, but they did not do this in 2007. It is uncertain if they will do this in 2008.

Along with the release of the Altador Cup on June 1, 2006, a new [[Shop]] called [[Altador Cup Souvenirs]] opened, which sold sports team merchandise for each of the teams playing. Rather than ''Altador Cup Tournament'' items have a single use, they can be used for many different things. Hands and bottles were used as toys, pennants could be placed in [[Neohome]]s, and the jerseys acted as [[Clothes]].
