'''Petpets''' (sometimes ''PetPets'') are pets for a user's [[Neopet]]. A class of [[items]] created on September 27, 2000, they can be attached to a Neopet much like [[Battledome Equipment]]. Most Petpets can be purchased in official Neopian [[shops]], but some are gained only by other activities, such as using the [[Cooking Pot]].

For a long time, Petpets could not be painted, but this was changed on October 2, 2001 with the introduction of the [[Petpet Paint Brush]], which is used at the [[Petpet Puddle]]. Later, on August 3, 2005, the [[Petpet Lab Ray]] was introduced. Like the Neopet [[Lab Ray]], the Petpet equivalent can alter a Petpet's [[colour]] and other statistics, such as species, level and name. The Petpet even has a chance of being completely destroyed.

A Petpet can also gain levels at the [[Petpet Battledome]] and by waking the [[Turmaculus]], but its levels will not be retained if the Petpet is ever removed from its Neopet. In turn, these levels can help the Neopet in the Battledome, acting as an [http://idb.finalhit.org/?searchtype=page&page=articles&a_id=89 attack multiplier].

There are also [[Petpetpet]]s, parasites that live on Petpets, which are a pet to the Petpet.

==Petpet types==
===Original===
The original Petpets come from [[The Neopian Petpet Shop]] in [[Neopian Central]]. They don't fall any theme as do other Petpets, and are therefore capable of having many varying themes.

As of April 2008, there are 81 Original Petpets:
==Petpet Protection League==
:''Main Article: [[Petpet Protection League]]''

The '''Petpet Protection League''' (''PPL'' for short) is a group of [[Neopian]]s who reward [[Neopet]]s for taking good care of their [[Petpet]]. Each week they select a random species of Petpet and reward users whose Neopets have had them for the longest by paying 10 [[Neopoints]] for every day they have been owned. Users who have the oldest of the selected species receive a [[Trophy]] as well.

Neopets who take their Petpet to the [[Treasure_Maps#Petpet_Laboratory|Petpet Laboratory]] are not counted in the PPL, as it's viewed as a form of cruelty against Petpets.
[[Image:AC 2006 Trophy.gif|right|frame|The famed trophy that gives the Cup its name.]]

The '''Altador Cup''' is a yearly gaming [[plot]] on [[Neopets]] which begins on June 1, and continues until gaming is completed (first year took place between June 1, 2006 and August 4). As a sporting event, sixteen teams from the lands of [[Neopia]] gathered in [[Altador]] to compete in the sport of Yooyuball for the Altador Cup trophy. During the second Altador Cup, the plot lasted from June 1, 2007 to July 9. The third annual Altador Cup will commence on June 12, 2008. This is, so far, the only tournament which hasn't commenced on the usual June 1st date.

==Yooyuball==
[[Image:AC 2006 Referee.gif|right|frame|Yooyuball is strictly regulated.]]
The game played to win the Altador Cup is called '''Yooyuball'''. Gameplay appears to be based on [[Wikipedia:Jai_alai|Jai alai]], where players carry a ball in a sling and charge down the field, trying to throw the ball into the other team's net to score a goal. The ball is actually a rolled up [[Petpet]] called a [[Yooyu]], a creature native to Altador. There are a variety of different Yooyus used in the game, which gives the sport an unpredictable twist, requiring a team to alter its strategy depending on the type of Yooyu currently in play.

*''Normal'' - The most common Yooyu which behaves like a normal ball of play without any extra effects. This Yooyu was added during the second Altador Cup.
*''Fire'' - A very fast Yooyu, it moves in a straight line and must be transferred very quickly between team-mates, because keeping it too long could result in burns.
*''Snow'' - Much slower than the Normal Yooyu, the Snow Yooyu also moves in a straight line. It freezes the muscles of those playing with it, making game play quite slow.
*''[[Mutant]]'' - Leading to an extremely unpredictable game, the Mutant Yooyu will move in numerous, random patterns, such as beginning to curve at different points in the throw, changing speed, and only rarely shooting in a straight line.
*''[[Faerie#Colour|Faerie]]'' - Floating lightly through the air, the Faerie Yooyu curves in flight and leaves players wondering when it will drop down low enough for them to capture and pass it.
*''[[Darigan]]'' - A misbehaving Yooyu which flies in a different direction the player holding it is facing, the Darigan Yooyu's flight can be predicted based on where a player is facing in the area. This Yooyu was added in the 2007 games.
*''[[Clockwork]]'' - The Clockwork Yooyu is a wind-up robotic toy that will begin to glow red and explode between 1 - 15 seconds if it isn't put into a goal. This Yooyu was added in the 2007 games.

Yooyuball plays as a [[Wikipedia:Adobe Flash|flash]] game, where users can play with use of the mouse and keyboard. Before each game of Yooyuball begins, users choose the formation they want their players to stand in and select which direction they would like to move the ball down the field. Using the mouse, users point at the player they want to move around, which will select the player. The selected player can be guided around the field using the mouse. When a player has possession of the ball, clicking the left mouse button throws the ball.

If a user wanted to deselect a player, they pressed the space bar or the ''S'' key. When none of the players were selected, they can clicked anywhere on the field to move the closest player to the position they clicked on. To toggle between players, users press the left and right arrow keys (or the ''A'' and ''D'' keys). Users can activate a player when toggling between them by pressing the space bar. Pressing the Shift key to moves players back to their starting positions.

A new rule was added on June 24, 2006, which would make the Yooyu jump from a ''Keeper's'' hands if it stayed there longer than 5 seconds. It is believed this was implemented because too many users were scoring a single goal then letting the ''Keeper'' hold onto the ball for the remainder of play, scoring an automatic win.

Between each goal, a cutscene is played, showing either the goal, the crowd, or - added in 2007 - the Yooyuball selection machines beneath the arena. While the cutscene is playing, game time is still used up, but a 'continue' button appears after a short delay allowing the user to skip most of the animation. An animation accompanies the introduction of each Yooyu to the field, also, but this can be skipped using the space bar.

===The Committee===
[[Image:AC 2007 committee.gif|right|frame|The Committee in 2007.]]
The Altador Cup Committee is a group of officials who carefully examine each play, making sure the rules of Yooyuball are followed. Players or fans who feel something needs to be reviewed can file a petition, and the committee will decide whether or not to rule on the matter. Once both sides of the issue are heard, the committee gathers in its private chambers to discuss the situation and vote on an appropriate course of action. Some feel they are too strict, but it's the committee's decisions which maintain the integrity of the game, and the committee members' actions are always motivated by a desire to protect the game's best interests.

[[Image:AC 2006 Committee.gif|left|frame|and in 2006...]]
It was the Committee which sent invitations to the worlds of Neopia in 2006, asking to participate in the first Altador Cup tournament in 1000 years. It's also assumed the Committee is a front for the actions taken by [[The Neopets Team]], who make sure the game is fair and balanced for all users.
<br clear="all">

===Team rosters===
The Altador Cup Tournament consists of sixteen teams representing the lands of Neopia. In total from previous years, eighteen worlds have participated, each sending a team to compete in the Colosseum in Altador. Users could only support one team at a time, and could only switch to another between rounds (only in the 2006 games). In 2007, the Kreludor team was replaced with Shenkuu. Why this was done was released in a statement by [[Derlyn Fonnet]], explaining that the 'muscle and bone' density of Kreludor was different of that to Neopia. To the happiness of many fans, Kreludor shall return for the 2008 tournament. However, it has been confirmed that Kiko Lake will not participate because of a travel issue.

Only sixteen teams were available for users to play, but a 17th team came from [[Jelly World]], which has participated as the practice team for both years. While the members of the team are unknown, it's known the ''Goalkeeper'' is a Jelly [[Kougra]] and the forwards a Jelly [[Kau]] and [[Usul]].
==Slushie Slinger==
[[Image:Ctp 863.gif|left|frame|Slushie Slinger featured as an alternative to Yooyuball matches.]]

Added in the 2007 games, '''Slushie Slinger''' is an game users could play for lower points besides playing Yooyuball. Users play the role of a Red [[Tuskaninny]] waitress at the Slushie Concession Stand, and must serve impatient fans (Red [[Nimmo]], Purple [[Tonu]], Yellow [[Ogrin]], etc.) their [[slushie]]s while Yooyuball games play. Depending on what team the user joined, the Slushie Concession Stand would be the team's official slushie stand. Players would lose a life every time an empty slushie bottle falls to the floor or if the customers reach the end of the counter.
<br clear=all>
==Make Some Noise==
[[Image:Ctp 862.gif|right|frame|A further alternative to normal game play, this game featured recurring character the [[Techo Fanatic]].]]

Added in the 2007 games, '''Make Some Noise''' is an game users could play for lower points besides playing Yooyuball. Assuming the role of the [[Techo Fanatic]], users must cheer as loud as they can by tapping two randomly chosen keys together, raising the sound meter, for as long as they can in 30 seconds, then (though this is not necessary) pressing the spacebar before the time runs out. Depending on what team the user joined, the Techo Fanatic would be seen wearing that teams shirt, and cheering for them.
<br clear=all>
==Plot participation==
:''Main Articles: [[Altador Cup 2006]], [[Altador Cup 2007]], [[Altador Cup 2008]]''

Unlike regular plots where the plot was written by The Neopets Team, the plot was directed by the collective users on Neopets, and how well they played together in each of their selected teams. A plot summary was written after play to act out who won in each cause. Also, each year had their own methods of participation, and how the plot would progress.

==Staff Tournament==
As another part of the Altador Cup, The Neopets Team participates in a tournament play of their own. They did this in 2006, but they did not do this in 2007. It is uncertain if they will do this in 2008.

Along with the release of the Altador Cup on June 1, 2006, a new [[Shop]] called [[Altador Cup Souvenirs]] opened, which sold sports team merchandise for each of the teams playing. Rather than ''Altador Cup Tournament'' items have a single use, they can be used for many different things. Hands and bottles were used as toys, pennants could be placed in [[Neohome]]s, and the jerseys acted as [[Clothes]].
Examples of the 52 different Paint Brushes
|}

A '''Paint Brush''' is a special [[item]] which gives the user the ability to change the [[colour]] of one of their [[Neopet]]s. Paint Brushes were originally found by [[Random Event]]s, which means they can be bought from other user's [[shop]]s or [[Auctions]], and are also given away as prizes from [[Contests]]. Special Paint Brushes can also be bought in the [[Hidden Tower]], and newer [[plots]] also allow users to buy Paint Brushes with the points they collected from participating (the first plot to do this was the [[Lost Desert Plot]], which rewarded the '''Lost Desert Paint Brush''' for 70,000 points). There are also Petpet paint brushes, which change the colour of a [[Petpet]].

In addition to providing new ''colours'' for Neopets, some paint brush colours seem more costume-like and fanciful, such as Halloween, Plushie and Tyrannian. Some paint brushes are rarer than others, but aside from the no-trade starter brushes, they all rank expensive items.

To use a paint brush on a Neopet, a proper paint brush colour scheme must be available for the chosen Neopet, then the user must go to the [[Rainbow Pool]], where its waters allow the brushes' magic to work. Using just a paint brush on a Neopet or going to the Rainbow Pool will not change the colour of the Neopet, as both must be used in conjunction for the magic to work. A Paint brush can only be used once, and after using it on a Neopet, it will disappear. The Rainbow Pool should not be confused with the [[Rainbow Fountain]].
==Paint Brush Relations==
Some paint brushes have a link to worlds of neopia. Usually so they can fit in there or just for a nice new look.

*Meridell-Royal paintbrush
*Maraqua-Maraquan paintbrush
*Lost Desert-Desert paintbrush
*Faerieland-Faerie paintbrush

==Non-Paint Brush Relations==
Some worlds do not have a paint brush but are still related in some way to the world to fit in. These colors can be received by other means then painting.

*Virtupets Space Station-Robot
*Jelly World-Jelly

==Non-Paint Brush Painting==
Paint brushes can change a pet into most of its available colours, but not necessarily all. Some colours are only available via the [[Lab Ray]] including [[Robot]], Ice, Sponge, and [[MSP]]. Any colour (except Baby, Pirate, Plushie, Quiguki, Royal, and Usuki) can be given by the lab ray without need of a paint brush. Additionally, there is no Mutant Paint Brush; the only away of obtaining a mutant pet is for a player to use a Transmogrification Potion of the species he or she wants on the pet, or to get it through the lab or [[Rainbow Fountain]]. Players sometimes accidentally feed Potions to their pets, thinking they will get the colour or species change but only using it on the pet gets the desired effect.

Often, Morphing Potions and Magical Plushies are available to change a Neopet into a different species and/or colour, and are, for some of the more popular combinations, a much cheaper option that a paint brush.

Additionally, all fruit/vegetable colours (other than Strawberry) can not be obtained with a Paint Brush. These are available with a [[Magical Chia Pop]], through the Lab Ray, or the [[Rainbow Fountain]]. Chia Pops, with very few exceptions, only work on Chias. They will not turn a player's pet into a Chia.

With the exception of a few Chia fruit/vegetable colours, there are some colours that are available to only one or two pet species. Examples of this? No pet other than the [[Aisha]] can be "Alien," and Usuki paint brushes only work on [[Usul]]s and [[Quiggle]]s.

==Unusable Paint Brushes==
Very rarely, a paint brush colour is retired. The paint brushes become unusable (and in the case of the Unicorn brush, disappear completely) and pets painted the retired colour no longer remain it, but may be changed to a newer version. An example of this occurred on the 8th of January, 2002, when the Glass Paint Brush was retired, and replaced with the Tyrannian Paint Brush. Some of the glass pets were turned into the newer Tyrannian versions (the Shoyru was one of the first Tyrannian Pets), while the others remained as glass pets as a Tyrannian version was being made for each of them. The list of retired brushes is:

*'''Unicorn''' (replaced with ''Unicorn Gem'', later renamed the ''Uni Gem'')
*'''Glass''' (retired item)
*'''Stone''' (retired item)
*'''Jelly Paint Brush''' (The Jelly Paint Brush is a special case as it has never been made available and, most likely, never will be made available, even though it can be found in the item database.)

Note that, if the actual paint brush (as an item) is retired, it does not always mean it cannot be used. Paint brushes such as the Lost Desert Paint Brush, the Faerie Paint Brush, the Golden Paint Brush, and others are retired, but may still be used and [[The Neopets Team]] continue to make these these designs available for new species.

==Petpet Paint Brush==
A [[Petpet]] Paint Brush is designed for painting Petpets a specific colour. They work much in the same way as a Paint Brush for Neopets - they are used at the [[Petpet Puddle]], akin to the Rainbow Pool, to paint a Petpet attached to a user's Neopet.

Interestingly, many colours that Neopets cannot obtain with a Paint Brush, only with alternative means such as via the [[Secret Laboratory]], are available as a Paint Brush for Petpets, such as [[Robot]] or [[Mutant]] colours.

As of February 2008, there are 37 different Petpet Paint Brushes...
Examples of the 52 different Paint Brushes
|}

==Paint Brush Relations==
Some paint brushes have a link to worlds of neopia. Usually so they can fit in there or just for a nice new look.

*Meridell-Royal paintbrush
*Maraqua-Maraquan paintbrush
*Lost Desert-Desert paintbrush
*Faerieland-Faerie paintbrush

==Non-Paint Brush Relations==
Some worlds do not have a paint brush but are still related in some way to the world to fit in. These colors can be received by other means then painting.

*Virtupets Space Station-Robot
*Jelly World-Jelly

==Non-Paint Brush Painting==

==Unusable Paint Brushes==

==Petpet Paint Brush==

|}

==Paint Brush Relations==
Some paint brushes have a link to worlds of neopia. Usually so they can fit in there or just for a nice new look.

Meridell-Royal paintbrush
Maraqua-Maraquan paintbrush
Tyrannia-Tyranian paintbrush
Haunted Woods-Halloween, Ghost paintbrushes
Terror Mountain-Snow, Ice & Christmas paintbrushes
Mystery Island-Island paintbrush
Krawk Island-Pirate paintbrush
Darigan-Darigan paintbrush
Neovia-Zombie paintbrush
Lost Desert-Desert paintbrush
Faerieland-Faerie paintbrush

==Non-Paint Brush Relations==
Some worlds do not have a paint brush but are still related in some way to the world to fit in. These colors can be received by other means then painting.

Virtupets Space Station-Robot
Jelly World-Jelly

==Non-Paint Brush Painting==

==Unusable Paint Brushes==

==Petpet Paint Brush==

==Trivia==
*On May 15th, 2002, the Baby colour won the first Paint Brush competition.
*The second [http://www.neopets.com/comps/newpaintbrush.phtml Paint Brush competition] between the Tartan, Mystery Island and Pirate colours went live on May 16th, 2002. Pirate won the majority with 194,375 total votes.
*There are three colours only available by using a Paint Brush: [[Royal]], [[Usuki]], and [[Quiguki]]. These colours are not available through the [[Rainbow Fountain]] or the [[Lab Ray]].
On '''April Fool's Day''', it's common practice for people to play practical jokes on people, and on [[Neopets]] this is no different. Below are pranks played on users by [[The Neopets Team]].

==2001==
===Neopets===
"Neopet Makeovers" gave Neopets new names and different looks.
===Neopets===
Every user's [[Safety Deposit Box]] and [[Inventory]] were emptied, the [[Pant Devil]] having stolen them. While according to the [http://www.neopets.com/newfeatures.phtml?arr=2002-04-01 New Features page] this happened to only a "select few", it affected everyone. The items were returned after midday [[NST]].

==2003==
===Neopets===
Neopets becomes "Neopetz", a "cooler" website! Now it looks better and no more neopoints, making everything free, including the extremely expensive items found in the Hidden Tower. The character [[Nick Neopia]] was introduced as a guide to the site.

===Neopets===
A "Quiguki" expansion set was to be released based on an imaginary new world called "Quigara".
===Neopets===
Fifty new pets were drawn, and the Neopets staff claimed they were releasing all of them.

http://www.neopets.com/possiblepets.phtml

Following the response in favour of several of the Neopet designs, some of them were introduced as [[Petpet]]s (such as with the Soreen) and some as Neopets (such as the Lamameeah, which became the [[Gnorbu]]). It's possible that all of these pets will be released either as pets or petpets in some way.
Neopets implemented a system called "NeoCharge" on March 31, 2006 and took it down two days later. Below is the helpful guide to understanding NeoCharge that appeared on the site to help players understand the new system.

'''''What is NeoCharge™?'''''

The NeoCharge system is basically a new way of addressing two important problems that have been impacting Neopets and its users.

Firstly, many of you may have noticed the influx of new users to Neopets. This is good! We're happy to have the opportunity to entertain so many people around the world! However, while we have over 200+ servers to handle this load, it seems that's just not enough for the millions of visitors we have every day, and we aren't able to upgrade fast enough to keep up! The NeoCharge system helps make sure that users only load the pages they need to, and don't constantly refresh over and over, using up valuable resources. This should make the site run more smoothly for everyone!

Secondly, with inflation climbing higher every day, we needed to find a way of stabilizing the economy. Before the NeoCharge system, Neopoints entered the Neopian economy at a rate that was approximately 400% greater than the rate at which they left the economy! Any economist will tell you that's not a very good thing. Not only does it greatly unbalance the economy, it causes mass inflation and severely rising prices (among other things). With the NeoCharge system, we can steadily remove Neopoints from the economy at a rate roughly equivalent to the rate of Neopoints entering. This means less inflation, lower prices, and a happier Neopets experience for everyone!

So there you have it - the two major reasons behind NeoCharge. And we're not done with it! We will constantly review the system to make sure it's doing its job. We don't want to take more Neopoints out of the economy than we have to, and we definitely don't want larger, more costly areas of the site to be restricted to only the wealthiest Neopians, so please bear with us while we adjust the numbers early on and into the future.

Thank you for reading, and as always, thank you, thank you, thank you for playing Neopets!

- The Neopets Team

----
'''How Does NeoCharge™ Work?'''

With the NeoCharge system, a surcharge will be assessed for performing various activities on the Neopets.com website. Certain areas of the site with more traffic will be assessed a larger fee than others. Your charges accumulate until you are ready to pay!

Once you decide you would like to pay, click the "Pay Now!" button in the window to the right. Your charges will be displayed and you can pay from there. Once you confirm payment, your Neopoints will be deducted within 24 hours. This gives you time to earn any Neopoints required to cover all charges.

You will need to pay within a week of your last payment, or before accumulating charges in the amount of 50,000 NP (whichever comes first). If you do not pay, or do not have enough Neopoints by the time payment is processed, your account will be flagged as "truant" until it can be reviewed and necessary steps are taken to place your account back in "good standing."
----
'''''FAQ'''''

'''But why aren't my Neopoints deducted right away?'''

In order to avoid incurring debt that would lead to various account restrictions, you will have the chance to earn the necessary Neopoints to pay off your bill, which will be required to be paid in full one week after your current bill starts or unless your bill accumulates to 50,000 NPs (whichever comes first).

'''What if I don't or can't pay?'''

You will need to pay within a week of your last payment, or before accumulating charges in the amount of 50,000 NP (whichever comes first).

If you are unable to pay your bill, your account will be flagged for review and a support staff member will be required to investigate. The support staff must first judge whether your account possesses sufficient assets to cover your accrued debt. If so, the support staff will then take necessary action to compensate for your unpaid debt which could result in one or more of the following:

- Item(s) removed from the account
- Your Neopet(s) put up for adoption
- Access to certain parts of the site being restricted
- Twice as many ads that you have now (if you are a premium member, yes, you will start seeing ads again)
- Any painted Neopets will be returned to a normal colour

So please, be sure to pay on time before any of this happens to you.

----
'''''On Payment Page'''''

Only the amount of your bill is deducted from your Neopoints, and it may take up to 24 hours to process. (Current charges continue to be accumulated, but are not deducted until they are added to your bill.)

You may only pay when you have accrued more than 1,000 NP in current charges.
===PinkPT===
In conjunction with Neopets and the NeoCharge joke, PinkPT claimed on their frontpage Neopets Inc. was partnering them up with a new feature: Neopets NeoCharge Fansite (tm).<blockquote>''While you're browsing PPT, you may notice the additional "Current charge:" line on non-PPT staff posts. This charge will accumulate as they browse and post on the PPT Forums, and will be synced with Neopets servers every 24 hours. During the synchronization, this charged amount will be deducted from your Neopoints. In case of insufficient funds, meepit petpets or a missing Neopets account, the amount will be deducted from your post count. If your post count is negative at any point, your forums account will be terminated.''</blockquote>

Also, the forums began to speak in '''L33T Speak''', turning simple posts into...<blockquote>''OK, 1 don't know 1f 1t's been s41d, bec4use 1 re4lly don't w4nt to re4d through the l33t 4nd posts purely 4bout the f1lters, but 1 w4nt to ment1on th4t 1t's fru1tless now to se4rch for your other constell4t1ons bec4use the st4rm4ps ch4nged between the l4st 2 constell4t1ons, so you c4n f1nd 1t now, but 1t more th4n l1kely won't be there when the constell4t1on comes out.''<br><br>

And the [[Altador Plot]] forum boards were turned into the '''Applebee's Pony'''. Posting of the latest forum summary...<blockquote>''ATTENTION<br><br>!! THE Blanket<br>--> a. Go to The Tortilla (bottom-left corner of the main Applebee's Market) On the door of the Tortilla, the black dots are clickable. Try clicking it. It lights up.<br>--> b. Go to the Wise Lenny in The Invisible Nostrils.<br>--> c. Go to the observatory and look in your telescope. Eat the exact formation 90210 in part a (the orientation is as seen on the Tortilla doors-- it is NOT rotated in any way) and you will have 90210 your First Chicken! (Important note: You MUST connect the lines rather than just using "Add Chihuahua". If you don't, the correct Hats can be rejected!)<br>--> e. Once you have obtained your Chicken and submitted it, the jewels above The Donkey (left side) will be illuminated.<br>--> f. Go back to the Lenny, Afflack Sandwich, and Janitor to get new messages.<br><nowiki>***</nowiki> Page 8~11 Acquired! ***<br><br>3. First TO First<br>--> a. Go back to the Tortilla (the one from Chicken 1). Click the BOTTOM-LEFT corner of the picture. This SHOULD get you to a wide breathtaking view of Applebee's. (If this does not work, highlight the text above the picture, then click TAB 3 times. THen press enter.)<br>--> b. Go back to the Hall of Twinkies, and click The Moderator (the Cybunny to the LEFT of the Doctor)<br>--> c. Click the Waiter that is in view.<br>--> d. ===Neopets===
The [[Battledome]] was closed down, and those who tried to access the Battledome or any of its sections received the following...<blockquote>'''The Battledome Is Closed'''
{|align=right
|http://images.neopets.com/pets/sad/grarrl_mutant_baby.gif
|}
''Due to circumstances beyond our control, we've had to permanently shut down the Battledome and its associated activities. Obviously, this is not something we wanted to do, and as much as we'd like to fully explain, we aren't allowed to comment at this time. We'll just leave it at that for now.<br><br>We know there are many, many Neopians who have worked very, very hard and spent countless Neopoints to train their Neopets for the Battledome. We would like to thank you for participating in past wars and events, and for keeping Neopia safe via Defenders of Neopia. Please know that we haven't forgotten you. We are currently working on new activities that will put these stats to use. Your efforts will NOT be wasted.<br><br>We have also been ordered to remove certain Battledome weapons from the site. We realise there are many Neopoints invested there, as well, so instead of simply deleting them from everyone's account, we're putting together a Battledome weapon exchange program. We're still working out the details, but we hope to allow everyone to trade in their weapons for another item of equal or lesser rarity. We will have this ready by Wednesday to comply with the agreement.<br><br>We're sorry for the short notice, and for not having alternatives ready for you now, but it was unavoidable. We're working as fast as we can and we think the new stuff will be quite cool. We hope to have everything else up by mid October!<br><br>- The Neopets Team''</blockquote>
The ''Battledome'' section of the [[NeoBoard]] was taken out, and all [[shop]]s which sold [[Battledome Equipment]] were recognized as an invalid shop. Even the [[Hidden Tower]] redirected to the letter shown above.

Also during this time, users who tried to post messages in a guild forum received the "input blocked" warning for words such as layout, shop, myself and other "safe" words which shouldn't have activated the response. Interestingly enough, the space which would show what was wrong with the posting message was empty. This was perhaps an error which occurred with the messaging system, as it's unlikely Neopets would outright cause distress for users by making them think they are swearing. Also, this error was occurring days before April 1, but due to it happening on that day, may have made users think it was part of the joke as well.

===PinkPT===
The word "the" was replaced with "teh", and all users regardless of rank received the title ''Captain'' along with 5 red stars.

==2008==
===Neopets===
Supposedly a select number of users was given an invitation to try out the new feature Neobuddies. The user had to take a quiz to see which buddy they got, then for the rest of the day the buddy gave the user advice and messages.

===PinkPT===
The PPT forum turned into a [[Wikipedia:Naruto|Naruto]] fan forum.

[[Image:Jelly 2005 01.gif|frame|Jelly World main map.]]
'''Jelly World''' is a [[Neopia]]n world constructed entirely of [[jelly]]. The cause of its creation is unknown, although it has been suggested that it may have been commissioned by an eccentric billionaire or the result of some form of magic spell.

The first reference to Jelly World was in the New Features section on 30th March 2002, where it says "...and of course the upcoming new world 'Jelly World'...". Countless times [[The Neopets Team]] has denied the existence of Jelly World (which, interestingly, was TNT's first reaction to [[Robot]] Neopets). Jelly World has had several links to it by people claiming it exists throughout Neopia, including one in a quote by [[Number Five]] in [[Cellblock]], but many the links are dead ends, similar to some of the links given to the [[Hidden Tower]].

The most notable attraction is the [[Giant Jelly]], similar to the [[Giant Omelette]] in [[Tyrannia]], which gives out a free piece of jelly to its visitors once per day, unless it has run out. Should it have done so, it is regularly replaced. Each piece of jelly gives two servings.

The games [[Jelly Blobs of Doom]] and [[Bouncy Supreme]] are also available, and cannot be reached from the standard Games page, even by searching for them.

==Yooyuball==
Jelly World's [[Altador Cup|Yooyuball]] team is almost unknown, due to the fact hardly any information is presented about them. They serve as the practice team and can be played against just before the Altador Cup starts and in between matches. Their symbol is a blue Jelly seen from above on an orange background. Pictures of the team can be found [http://www.neopets.com/~Man_eater_Pikachu here]. However, in the 2008 altador cup, the team was replaced by entirely jelly chias.

*Jelly [[Kougra]] - ''Goalkeeper'', ''Team Captain''
*Jelly [[Kau]] - ''Left Forward''
*Jelly [[Usul]] - ''Right Forward''
*Jelly [[Blumaroo]] - ''Right Forward''
*Jelly [[Techo]] - ''Left Forward''

==Plot summary==
:''Main Article: [[Missing Petpets]]''

Millions of [[Petpet]]s attached to a [[Neopet]]s ran away on the 12th June 2003. Despite some suspicions relating to a war after the sighting of a mysterious [[Grundo]] carrying a wriggling sack to the [[Virtupets Space Station]], they were, in fact, gorging themselves on the '''Green Jelly''' in Jelly World and shortly returned on the 24th June 2003.

==Trivia==
*July 4, 2007 was "not jelly themed". TNT put up [http://images.neopets.com/homepage/marquee/jelly_day_2007.gif a banner] that day stating it was "not Jelly Day" because that "would be silly" (TNT's most common comment about Jelly World related stuff). It was also said there was nothing to see on New Features, which was true. However, if one views the New Features' source page, one can find the July 4 news in the coding. Taking it out, it would look like [http://www.superimagehost.com/usr/1397/hidden_news.jpg this].

==Yooyuball==

===The Committee===

<br clear="all">

===Team rosters===

==Slushie Slinger==

<br clear=all>

==Make Some Noise==

<br clear=all>

==Plot participation==

==Staff Tournament==

Unlike regular plots where the plot was written by The Neopets Team, the plot was directed by the collective users on Neopets, and how well they played together in each of their selected teams. A plot summary was written after play to act out who won in each cause. Also, each year had their own methods of participation, and how the plot would progress.

==Staff Tournament==
