The Deserted Tomb is one of the Dailies located in the Lost City of Geraptiku on Mystery Island. First you click "Open the door...", then you go to the screen where you click "Enter." There are 5 possible results:
#It's been two days. You don't quite know how, but you've managed to elude many of the traps mysteriously strewn around this tomb. Maybe it's a good thing you're so clumsy.

After being lost in the tomb for two days (living off fungus and rain water of course), you stumble across a room you haven't seen before. Could this be the location of the treasure?

*RAWR* ME HUNGRY!

That's definitely no treasure. A giant monster leaps out from the darkness and begins chasing you, all the while thinking about the best way to cook you for dinner. You should probably continue running.

You suddenly remember where the exit is and escape back to Geraptiku.
# You happen upon a flight of stairs that leads down into the darkness. It seems to go on forever, but you finally reach the very bottom and enter the dimly lit room you find there.

FIDDLESTICKS!

You yell out in disappointment. This room is the treasure chamber you've been looking for but you discover that someone has gotten to the treasure before you. You could devote the rest of your life to finding this person and writing them a stern letter, but you have to get out of here first.

#Arrows fly out of the walls and damage your active pet.
#A petpet scares you, then runs away. It was standing on a box that contained a cheap item such as a Potgatkerchi Plushie.
#You find the treasure! You get several thousand Neopoints, and (an) item(s). Loot found may be: Geraptiku Bone Chair, Geraptiku Recipes...
There is also an avatar users can win from visiting, but receiving it is decided on a Random Event.
Journey to the Lost Isle is a plot which began on May 1, 2007.

Plot summary
Hugo Fairweather was holding a scientific gathering to share his deciphering of the journal of Mad Tongue Murphy, who was said to discover a mysterious island. The journal, which was written in text similar to Tyrannian, has finally been translated after the discovery of a tablet containing a passage in two forms of Tyrannian. Discovered by his daughter Lilian Fairweather, Hugo could use the passage in the form of Tyrannian he knew to learn the second language. With his findings, he determined to start a journey to find the island based on the writings of the journal. He was joined by Roxton A. Colchester III, who relished the thought of discovering a new land, while most others condemned his actions as insanity.

When they went to find a ship to sail them to their destination, they were directed to Captain Rourke by a Pirate Shoyru, who said he would be the only one who would take such a dangerous task. Even Captain Rourke had misgivings, but with the encouragement of a large bag of Neopoints, offered the services of his ship, the SS Primella. Gathering at the ship the following morning, Rourke noted the red sky and feared a storm coming. His confidence in Hugo's ability to navigate them to the island in the journal was shaken when the absent-minded Professor couldn't find his glasses above his eyes, but set sail all the same.

Aboard the SS Primella, Roxton started a conversation with Lilian, who mentioned their could be a plant similar to the crysophyllum munusa, whose fruit has healing properties, on the island based on the drawings she saw in the journal. Behind them, Werther, despite his best efforts, failed to balance the stack of boxes on his head, and ploughed into a barrel, in which Scrap, a stowaway, was hiding. Explaining he sneaked onto the boat to escape from a crime he didn't commit, Rourke was about to throw him into the brig before Roxton intervened, saying they had no time to be returning to mainland now that they were on their way, and he would take full responsibility for Scrap. Rourke would only allow it if Scrap paid for his trip by cleaning up the SS Primella, which he did. With Scrap now part of their expedition, Rourke focused on the coming storm.

Plot participation
Clean the Deck!
Users had helped Scrap clean up the deck of the SS Primella, by arranging items in a certain way so as to fit in a grid, so that he could remain on board.
Battledome
Users had to fight a Bug-like Monster

Trivia
*The use of a book that will be filled as the plot progresses is a similar plot device to that used in the Altador Plot.
*On the second page of the first comic, Garin, Jacques, Linae and Bruno can be seen in the background of the pub. Garin, notably, has his earrings in his right ear, which is likely to be an artist's mistake.
*In the background of the public house in the first comic, there is a painting similar to the Dogs Playing Poker series.
*An error would sometimes occur if the user left the Clean the Deck! puzzle before it was finished, and start over from the smallest grid. Refreshing the page brought the user back to the latest puzzle.
*The story has references to The Lost World by Arthur Conan Doyle. One of the hints is the character Roxton A. Colchester III who obviously was inspired by Lord John Roxton.
Inflatable Balthazar is fought by users in the following for the following reasons:

*To recieve a high score in Balthazar Basher.
*To restore a Neopet to full HP after fighting him.
*Weapon testing.

Weapon testing is difficult, however. First, Inflatable Balthazar doesn't attack, testing a weapoins defensive capabilities pointless. Second, when an opponents defense is lower than the Neopets attack, more attack icons appear, misleading the user about the weapon's true icon attack.

The only weapon Inflatable Balthazar has equipped is a Green Apple. This isn't really a battledome item at all and can't normally be equipped. The Neopets Team equipped it to Inflatable Balthazar in order to prevent users from getting a bugged weapon after stealing from him.

68.9.56.253: /* Lost Desert Plot */

The Lost Desert is one of the number of areas in Neopia which one can visit. In these worlds there are a large various activities. It has recently extended after the Lost Desert Plot to include the new sub-section called Qasala. The Lost Desert was discovered accidentally by Brucey B when chasing his Lucky Coin as part of the Brucey B and the Lucky Coin plot. He found it by travelling through the Haunted Woods.

The Kingdoms in the Lost Desert
There are two cities in the current Lost Desert. There is the city of Sakhmet, capital of the most prosperous area of the Desert, and the newly rediscovered city of Qasala, which is in ruins but currently being repopulated. Shortly after its discovery, Dr. Frank Sloth invaded the Lost Desert and attacked Sakhmet, succeeding in taking the Sakhmetian palace before his forces were beaten back and the magic Staff of Alhasutek was destroyed.

Sakhmet
A stunning city of spires, domes and (unsurprisingly) sandstone. It was occupied by Dr Sloth when he invaded, and he managed to build a space-worthy escape pod into one of the towers. The Royal Palace of Sakhmet is one of the most stunning structures in the Neopian World.

The Sakhmetian Royal Family went through a time of turbulence after the Lost Desert was discovered. Following the poisoning of King Coltzan III in a move to usurp the throne, and the Royal Family held an investigation in which it drafted in the users to analyse the case, with the promised reward of items from the Royal Treasury (priceless Battle Scarabs). After the case was closed, a shrine was erected in the King's honour, in which was placed his Crown, which was said to be inhabited by the ghost of Coltzan. As the shrine was unvieled, however, it emerged that the cunning Malkus Vile, a criminal gangmaster, had had the crown stolen - The Hunt for the Crown was on. Since the crown was returned, the Ghost of Coltzan very often makes himself known to Neopets who offer up mourning at his obelisk.

The Royal Family of Sakhmet went under another turbulent time, when the Princess Amira (who had inherited the throne from Coltzan III) received Prince Jazan IV of Qasala who demanded her hand in marriage based on some document of bethroment he had gathered from somewhere. He believed that marrying a Sakhmetain Princess would restore his lands and people, so when the Princess refused, he stole the City away with dark magic, where it became plagued by his demons. When he fell in love with Nabile (who could be seen as a princess of thieves), they married and Jazan restored Sakhmet, but his land did not prosper again and in fact the prophecy he fulfilled brought back to life his wicked, powermad father Razul who attacked the Lost Desert until he was stopped.

Qasala
A once-beautiful city that fell on hard times and is now mostly in ruins after being obliterated 200 years ago by a sandstorm. Amongst the ruined buildings lie caches of histories and magic. One of the more notable buildings is the Temple of 1,000 Tombs.

This once thriving city had a very well respected Royal Family, until Razul cursed his own people, and his own son, Jazan, and laid down a prophecy that would enable him to live again after his death. Both Razul and Jazan controlled considerable sorcery.

Activities in the Lost Desert
* The Lost Desert has a large number of 'dailies' - activities that can net large prizes and can be committed once in an allotted time (normally a day) for free or a small price.
** Fruit Machine
** Coltzan's Shrine
** Lost Desert Scratchcard Stall.
* There is also a large number of shops in the Lost Desert, such as
** Lady Osiri's Pottery Shop
** Battle Supplies and Desert Arms
** Sutek's Scrolls
** Qasalan Delights
* There are a number of games, including:
** Tug of War

The Ski Lodge Murder Mystery was a murder mystery plot, much like Sacrificers, that was started on 2nd February 2001. In it, The Neopets Team, stranded on the top of Terror Mountain, were being picked off one by one by an unknown murderer in their midst.

Users were required to guess who was the killer, and could move through the rooms of the Ski Lodge the team were trapped in and interview to some extent the staff members.

Plot summary
spoiler
The Neopets Team were holidaying in Terror Mountain in an old, abandoned lodge that was formerly owned by Dr Sloth. Trapped in by a storm, the idyllic retreat became a catalogue of gruesome crime scenes as the vacation turned into a nightmare - an unknown murderer began picking off the members of the team one by one over the course of sixteen weeks.

As the murders continued, often becoming more elaborate over time, the staff members became more and more suspicious of each other. In week nine, it appeared as though the horribly series of crimes may have reached an end when J. Boogie, in his dying words, claimed the murderer to be Monster Boy. Monster Boy's own swift destruction shortly after seemed to ruin this theory, and the slaughtering continued.

The finale came when only Beader and Maverick were left. Beader witnessed the murder of Number Six at the hands of Maverick in the laboratory carved into the mountain beneath the lodge. Before Maverick could kill off Beader and complete his plans, the potential victim found salvation in the form of a lever that trapped Maverick under a conveniently placed cage.

The storm outside finally subdued, Chia police arrested Maverick to have him explode - he was, in fact, a robotic doppelgänger placed their by a mysterious villain, almost undoubtedly Dr Sloth.

The plot served as a very interesting, rather dark, and fairly egotistical outing, as many plots were back in the earlier days. TNT wished to vacation at the Terror Mountain Ski Lodge around the time Terror Mountain was originally created (rather, around the time the peak became available to the public; it was possibly this plot that gave rise to the name, or this name that gave rise to the plot).

Murders
At each murder, a picture of the crime scene and a brief description of the events were supplied. The deaths, in chronological order, were:

*Week One: Electric Blue Monkey, in the Hallway, on Thursday. Died after falling down the stairs.
*Week Two: Black Widow, in the Hallway, on Monday. Death by strangulation.
*Week Two: Bubbles, in the Dining Room, on Thursday. Death by excessive blunt trauma with a candlestick (a la the board game Cluedo?).
*Week Three: Cookie, in the Kitchen, on Tuesday: Death by excessive trauma caused by a collapsing shelf of 200 lbs of cooking utensils.
*Week Four: Cupcake, in the Kitchen, on Monday: Death after being impaled by spears.
*Week Four: Jasmine, in the Guest Bedroom, on Thursday: Death by blunt trauma to the cranium, potentially caused by and accidental fall.
*Week Five: Scarlet O'Lara, in the Pool, on Monday: Death by asphyxiation as a direct result of drowning.
*Week Five: Snowflake, in the Pool, on Thursday: Death by asphyxiation after being induced head-first into an ornamental fixture pouring water into the pool. The image is noted for working as a fairly shocking contrast to the thus-far 'passive' death scenes.
*Week Six: Pop Tart, in the Hallway, on Tuesday: Death by immolation by fire, through the use of Exploding Potions.
*Week Six: Sweet, in the Dining Room, on Thursday: Death by excessive trauma post crushing with an anvil, a return to the more comical style of execution.
*Week Seven: Mr. Plaid, in the Kitchen, on Tuesday: Death potentially by asphyxiation, over-consumption, or after receiving heavy burns.
*Week Seven: Dr. Thor, in the Kitchen, on Friday: Death by hypothermia.
*Week Eight: Bye-Gon Jinx, in the Pool, on Tuesday: Death by sever dismemberment, presumably after a light sabre battle. This marks the start of the more 'gruesome' deaths (though the earlier deaths were fully illustrated, the only one noted to stand out before this as a particularly graphic death was Snowflake's demise).
*Week Eight: Snot, in the Pool, on Friday: Death by consumption by a school of Utility Fish.
*Week Nine: J. Boogie, in the Library, on Monday: Death after being impaled on a light sabre.
*Week Nine: Monster Boy, in the Library, on Friday: Death by excessive trauma post crushing by a large Mystery Island tiki head statue.
*Week Ten: Wolverine, in the Library, on Monday: Death by hanging.
*Week Ten: Mr. Insane, in the Library, on Thursday: Death by poisoning.
*Week Eleven: Lazarus, in the Pool, on Monday: Death by hyperthermia.
*Week Eleven: Mister Pickles, in the Wine Cellar, on Thursday: Death by decapitation.
*Week Twelve: Dom, in the Master Bedroom, on Monday: Death by electrocution, with the body later preserved in formaldehyde.
*Week Twelve: Dave Scorcheski, in the Kitchen, on Thursday: Death by fission of the brain after being cleaved through the cranium.
*Week Thirteen: Mr. Roboto, in the Kitchen, on Monday: Death after trisection.
*Rhiannon: Week thirteen, Thursday; fell from a cliff.
*Tiger Catcher: Week fourteen, Monday; sucked down the drain.
*Jimmy James: Week fourteen, Thursday; crushed by a shelf stacked with wine.
*Mr. Black: Week fifteen, Monday; assumed beating (although it's not quite clear).
*The Big Spender: Week fifteen, Thursday; unknown (possible strangulation, but this is purely conjecture based on the presence of the bow near the white chalk outline).
*Mr. Shankly: Week sixteen; cooked alive.
*Number Six: 'Cliffhanger' and 'Finale'; dropped from cliff.
*Maverick: 'Finale'; explosion triggered by Dr Sloth.

The Beader was the only remaining staff member after the ordeal was complete.

Prizes
Prizes were awarded depending on how early you guessed who the killer was; guessing on the first week would net you a much higher prize than guessing on the fifteenth. However, the nature of these prizes and their exact correlation to the game of guesswork are unknown.

Issue 20 of Neopets: The Official Magazine notes the Mutant Kacheek Plushie as one of the prizes, and several photographs (1, 2, 3, 4), books (1, 2, 3) and items featuring Maverick (

Trivia
*The light sabres, used twice as a murder weapon, resemble Star Wars' Lightsabers very closely.
*The Mystery Island Tiki head, used to murder Monster Boy, may be a reference to Sacrificers which was set on the Island.

The Altador Cup was announced by Neopets on May 31, 2006, to commence one the June 2, 2006. It is a sporting event with teams from sixteen Neopian worlds participating.

The role of the user and the system of play is still unclear. It is believed that either players will be supporting (and maybe betting) on their team, or that they will be be playing as part of their team in a localised competition rather than a community-wide competition. Users could select the team they wish to join/support and change teams if they wish until June 8, 2006.

Plot Summary
On June 2 all teams from around Neopia gathered to practice for the games ahead of them, and countless Neopians gathered to watch their favorites take the field. Inbetween practices, most of the players would go and meet their fans, signing autographs. Five days later and the day before the games began, Kiko Lake's Left Forward Holbie Pinnock was injured due to Relle Felson's sling breaking and flying off into Holbie's head, taking him out of the games. Helmo Timm, the one Holbie was replacing, immediately asked to be put back in the game to play, or Kiko Lake would likely not win their games.

On June 9 the first round matches of the Altador Cup tournament begun. Among the eight match ups, two showed to be very interesting. First was "The Moon vs. The Goons," or the Haunted Woods versus Kreludor. It was uncertain who would win, but it would be entertaining.

Second was Brightvale and Kiko Lake. With Kiko Lake suffering from a recent string of injuries fans were devastated to learn they were facing Brightvale in Round One, who are notorious for their roughhouse tactics. They were certainly going to take a cheap shot at Timm and put her back on the sidelines for good.

Yooyuball
The game played to win the Altador Cup is called Yooyu ball. Gameplay appears to be based on Jai alai, where players carry a ball in a sling and charge down the field, trying to throw the ball into the other teams net to score a goal. The ball is actually a rolled up Petpet called a Yooyu, a creature native to Altador.

There are a variety of different Yooyus that are used in each game, which gives the sport an unpredictable twist. For example, a team might alter its particular strategy depending on the type of Yooyu that's currently in play.

*Fire - This Yooyu must be transferred very quickly between team-mates, since keeping it too long can result in some rather unpleasant burns.
*Snow - This kind of Yooyu makes for a very slow ball, and its piercing cold slows the muscles of those playing with it.
*Mutant - This Yooyu is extremely unpredictable and will often move in crazy patterns.
*Faerie - In this form, the Yooyu floats lightly through the air, leaving players to wonder when it will drop down low enough for them to capture and pass it.

How To Play
Before each game of Yooyuball begins, users choose the formation they want their players to stand in and select which direction the would like to move the ball down the field. Using the mouse, you point at the player you'd like to move around. This will select the player. The selected player can be guided around the field using your mouse. When a player has possession of the ball, click the left mouse button to throw the ball.

If a user wanted to unselect a player, they pressed the spacebar or the S key. When none of the players were selected, they can click anywhere on the field to move the closest player to the position they clicked on. To toggle between players, press the left and right arrow keys (or the A and D keys). To activate a player when toggling between them, press the spacebar. Press the Shift key to move your players back to their starting positions. Also, you can use the mouse.

Tournament Rules
The Altador Cup Tournament consists of sixteen teams representing the lands of Neopia. Tournament play is single-elimination, which means that the team that wins a match moves on to the next round, while the team that loses is eliminated from all play. Sixteen teams are randomly seeded and matched up, and After the eight losing teams are eliminated the eight winning teams will again be randomly matched up and move on to the quarterfinals. In the quarterfinals, four more teams will be eliminated while the remaining four will head to the semifinals. Semifinal play will determines which two teams will battle it out in the final match.

The Committee
The Altador Cup Committee is a group of officials who carefully examine each play, making sure that the rules of Yooyuball are followed. Players or fans who feel something needs to be reviewed can file a petition, and the committee will decide whether or not to rule on the matter. Once both sides of the issue are heard, the committee gathers in its private chambers to discuss the situation and then votes on an appropriate course of action.

While some might feel they are too strict, the committee's decisions play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of the game, and the committee members' actions are always motivated by a desire to protect the game's best interests.

Team Rosters
Sixteen Neopian worlds participated, each sending a team to compete in the Colleseum in Altador. There was also a seventeenth team from Jelly World, who played as the practice team. While the players themselves are unknown, it's known the Goalkeeper is a Jelly Kougra and one of the forwards a Jelly Kau.

<table width="700"><tr><td width="100" valign="top">

Altador<br>
Boasting an airtight defence that averages the least amount of goals allowed per game coming into the tournament, the big question about Altador's squad is whether they're going to be able to generate enough scoring to stay in the hunt for the cup. Then again, with Altador, one goal is usually all it takes.
*Timu
*Cawley Embith
*Winberto Seliz
*Salayne Ritad
*"Trapper" Remis

Brightvale<br>
When the subject of dirty play comes up, one might expect that Darigan or the Haunted Woods would probably be the land that fields the team with the roughest, meanest bunch of (alleged) cheaters. Such an expectation would be incorrect, however, since the most crooked lineup of Yooyuballers actually belongs to... Brightvale? Yes, Brightvale - that hallowed land known for wisdom, learning, and (apparently) sharp jabs to the ribs when no one's looking.
*Orie Dinelle
*"Squeaky" Tressif
*Reb Weemelott
*Montecito

Darigan Citadel<br>
A solid squad with few major weaknesses, the big criticism against this club over the years has been that they play too easy a schedule during the regular season, and as a result they're unprepared when tournament time rolls around. Well, this past season the Darigan Citadel finally relented and added some more matches against a few of the better clubs. So, while they might not have finished as high in the standings as they normally do, Darigan fans are hoping that this year's team will show a little extra toughness during the games that matter most.
*Tandrak Shaye
*Tormo "The Terror" Frein
*Mungo Lifler
*Kep Bonnefie
*Layton Vickles

Faerieland<br>
Faerieland's Yooyuball squad features one of the most potent offensive attacks in the sport today, but their trio of quick, undersized forwards have a tendency to wear down against larger, more physical opponents.
*Babolino
*Kakoni Worrill
*Valtonia Rea
*Delma Harrence
*Palia Alback

Haunted Woods<br>
Subscribing to the old saying that "defence wins championships," the Haunted Woods has built its team around shutting down the other squads' forwards and forcing mistakes that create easy scoring opportunities for them. Defeating this bunch takes plenty of discipline and determination, but it can be done....
*Zo Junior
*Wan Dirx
*Fanetti
*Chelo Binay
*Krell Vitor

Kiko Lake<br>
Kiko Lake enters this year's tournament with plenty to prove to its critics. Can they overcome the loss of forward Helmo Timm, the flashy (yet erratic) play of goalkeeper Ditan Colb, and superstar defender Meela Kitah coming off the worst year of her career? If so, Kiko Lake could contend for ownership of the Altador Cup. If not, however....
**Helmo Timm

Krawk Island<br>
Owners of the league's most enthusiastic (and long-suffering) fans, Krawk Island fields a team of loveable losers who've never quite managed to put it all together and win their regional tournament. Led by grizzly forward "Dasher" Soley (who has hinted that he might retire after the tournament), everyone on Krawk Island is hoping this is finally the year that Ol' Dash and the gang bring home the gold.
*"Dasher" Soley
*Garven Hale
*Ealyn Hawkshanks
*Nitri Cassale
*Hoke Lemtry

Kreludor<br>
Though they may not be the most physically gifted team vying for the Altador Cup, many would consider Kreludor's squad to be the most disciplined and fundamentally sound group in the tournament. Befuddling defenders with a torrent of crisp passes and a labrynth of picks and blocks, this unassuming bunch have been known to take their more talented opponents and tie them in knots.
*Derlyn Fonnet
*Zenor Kevix
*Vignacio
*Qyldae Wegg
*Xila Kitae

</td><td width="100" valign="top">

Lost Desert<br>
The Lost Desert fields a lineup that could potentially do lots of damage in the tournament, but this squad also has plenty of questions that still need to be answered. Will Navers's questionable tactics or Azar's disruptive holdout derail their chances of winning it all, or will this veteran bunch come together and make a successful run at the Cup?
*Leera Heggle
*Wyett Tuggins
*"Dirty" Navers
*Vonde Cayle
*Derbi Azar

Maraqua<br>
Maraqua's clubhouse could best be described as "a house divided." On one side, you have star forward Elon Hughlis, who's more concerned with his personal accomplishments (however great they may be) than actual wins and losses. On the other you have his scrappy (yet far less talented teammates), who endure his antics because of his tremendous ability. As much as Maraqua would love to wash their hands of the situation by trading Hughlis, there's no way any other club would give them equal value in return for taking on their headache.
*Barit Jowes
*Jair Tollet
*Filo Desenz
*Tonie Plessix
*Elon "The Black Hole" Hughlis

Meridell<br>
If there's one word to describe Meridell's Yooyuball team, it's "speed." They love nothing more than to get out there and run their opponents ragged. Their superior conditioning enables them to wear down opponents with a relentless flurry of cuts and screens from the opening face-off until the final whistle. It also helps to mask the fact that they aren't the most accurate or powerful shooters.
*Sir Pollonaire Freidl
*Ilsa Ellits
*Fiorina
*"Wizard" Windelle
*Vitri Sitol

Mystery Island<br>
Led by the dazzling moves of Teylore Nix and the unstoppable brute force of Volgoth, Mystery Island's squad of Yooyuballers enter the tournament with a punishing offensive arsenal that few teams can hope to keep pace with. If not for the shaky status of their goalkeeping situation, this group would most likely be the odds-on favourites to bring home the cup.
Roo Island<br>
This ragged squad of also-rans and inexperienced rookies received a huge boost when Lilo Blumario, one of the game's top players, decide to sign on and return to his hometown club. He's got what it takes to lead Roo Island to victory... the only question now is, will his new teammates fall in line behind him?
Terror Mountain<br>
Known as "the worst team a fortune can buy" this high priced collection of talented individuals has thus far failed to come together and play as a team. On paper, you would think that a roster with so many good players would be a serious contender to win the Altador Cup. Unfortunately for Terror Mountain's fans, however, the tournament's matches aren't played on paper.
A few years ago, Tyrannia's general manager assembled a group made almost entirely of players whose original teams had given up on them. After a series of trades and waiver wire acquisitions, Tyrannia began to transform its motley bunch of castoffs into a selfless squad of warriors. Driven by a desire to show everyone who'd written them off how wrong they were, Tyrannia's "Forsaken Five" have gone on to become one of the most successful Yooyuball teams currently playing.
On the surface, other than the obvious talents of star forward Keetra Deile, it would seem like all you can really say about the rest of the Space Station's team is that they're a solid (yet unspectacular) bunch of role players. The thing about Deile, though, is that she uses her brilliance to elevate the play of those around her, making this squad somewhat better than one might initially think. While a run at the cup is highly unlikely, an "upset" in the first or even second round of the tournament wouldn't be all that much of a surprise.
Staff Tournament
On June 10, 2006, it was revealed The Neopets Team would be participating in Altador Cup as well, as an internal staff tournament within the offices. Sixteen members of the Neopets staff were assigned a team, and each competed in a mini Altador Cup tournament. Users were asked to vote who would take first, second and third place, and the vote was correct the user won a prize.

Participates were...

<table width="700"><tr><td width="100" valign="top">
*Subordinate Prime - Mystery Island
*Mr. Roboto - Kreludor
*Jimmy James - Maraqua
*Dom Dread - Tyrannia
*Dirigibles - Lost Desert
*snarkie - Virtupets
*Soupfaerie - Faerieland
*Viola - Krawk Island
</td><td width="100" valign="top">
*Snowbunny - Darigan Citadel
*Mr. Insane - Kiko Lake
*El Picklesaur - Altador
*Dragona - Terror Mountain
*Tiger Catcher - Meridell
*DJ Skellington - Haunted Woods
*Lawyerbot - Brightvale
*TPOSG - Roo Island
</td></tr></table>

Staff tournament rounds coincided with regular tournament rounds, and the same match-ups that existed in the real tournament were played out in TNT's tournament. No staff scores counted towards the real tournament, as that would be cheating. Staff scores were tallied individually, determining who stayed and continued to the round. Voting ended on June 8, 2006.

Trivia
*The Altador Cup appears to co-incide with dates and times of the FIFA World Cup in Germany of 2006, and if the golden orb seen in the preview trailer is indeed the "cup" itself, it bares remarkable resemblence to the actual World Cup.
*Noted advertisments shown within the tournament were a new Dragon Ball Z game being released in July 2006 and a new Garfeild movie.
*During Yooyuball gameplay when the Ixi and Grarrl newscasters are making their remarks, if a user refrains from clicking the "continue" button they will begin to ask the user to hurry up so that they can GET IT ON.
