Grundos are one of many different species that exist in Neopia. Originally they did not come from Neopia, but kidnapped and forced to work on the [[Neopia#Virtupets Space Station|Virtupets Space Station]] by [[Dr. Frank Sloth]] during his attempted invasion. After being freed from Dr Sloth's clutches many Grundos left the Space Station and have set up homes all over the planet.

Grundos are a little unusual, to adopt one for yourself you need to visit the Virtupets Space Station. Once there you can choose more than the usual four colours, for your Grundo.

The Grundos are a restricted pet, and can only be Adopted at the Virtupets Space Station.

Grundos were once imprisoned by Dr. Sloth's evil regime. Through his evil ways and experiments, he mutated the peace loving Grundo into beefed up, mind-warped warriors. Only through the collaborative efforts of all the citizens of Neopia and the Space Faerie were the Grundos able to be freed from their cruel enslavement and adopted into new caring homes. Grundos are believed to have come to Neopia from space. While their cute demeanor may be a bit on the goofy side, their intelligence should not be underestimated. These neopets were capable of space travel after all.

The Lost Desert is one of the number of areas in [[Neopia]] which one can visit. In these worlds there are a large various activities. It has recently extended after the [[Lost Desert Plot]] to include the new sub-section called Qasala. The Lost Desert was discovered accidentally by [[Brucey B]] when chasing his Lucky Coin as part of the [[Brucey B and the Lucky Coin]] plot. He found it by travelling through the [[Haunted Woods]].

==The Kingdoms in the Lost Desert==

There are two cities in the current Lost Desert. There is the city of Sakhmet, capital of the most prosperous area of the Desert, and the newly rediscovered city of Qasala, which is in ruins but currently being repopulated. Shortly after its discovery, [[Dr. Frank Sloth]] invaded the Lost Desert and attacked Sakhmet, suceeding in taking the [[Sakhmetian]] palace before his forces were beaten back and the magic [[Staff of Alhasutek]] was destroyed.

===Sakhmet===

A stunning city of spires, domes and (unsurprisingly) sandstone. It was occupied by Dr Sloth when he invaded, and he managed to build a space-worthy escape pod into one of the towers. The [[Royal]] Palace of Sakhmet is one of the most stunning structures in the [[Neopian]] World.

The Sakhmetian Royal Family went through a time of turbulence after the Lost Desert was discovered. Following the poisoning of [[King Coltzan III]] in a move to usurp the throne, and the Royal Family held an investigation in which it drafted in the users to analyse the case, with the promised reward of items from the Royal Treasury (priceless Battle Scarabs). After the case was closed, a shrine was erected in the King's honour, in which was placed his Crown, which was said to be inhabited by the ghost of Clotzan. As the shrine was unvieled, however, it emerged that the cunning [[Malkus Vile]], a criminal gangmaster, had had the crown stolen - [[The Hunt for the Crown]] was on. Since the crown was returned, the Ghost of Clotzan very often makes himself known to Neopets who offer up mourning at his obelisk.

The Royal Family of Sakhmet went under another turbulent time, when the [[Princess Amira]] (who had inherited the throne from King Clotzan III) recieved [[Prince Jazan]] IV of Qasala who demanded her hand in marriage based on some document of bethroment he had gathered from somewhere. He believed that marrying a Sakhmetain Princess would restore his lands and people, so when the Princess refused, he stole the City away with dark magic, where it became plagued by his demons. When he fell in love with [[Nabile]] (who could be seen as a princess of thieves), they married and Jazan restored Sakhmet, but his land did not prosper again and in fact the prophecy he fulfilled brought back to life his wicked, powermad father [[Razul]] who attacked the Lost Desert until he was stopped.

===Qasala===

A once-beautiful city that fell on hard times and is now mostly in ruins after being obliterated 200 years ago by a sandstorm. Amongst the ruined buildings lie caches of histories and magic. One of the more notable buildings is the '''Temple of 1,000 Tombs'''.

This once thriving city had a very well respected Royal Family, until Razul cursed his own people, and his own son, Jazan, and laid down a prophecy that would enable him to live again after his death. Both Razul and Jazan controled considerable sorcery.

A prehistoric land discovered miles beneath the [[Terror Mountain|Ice Caves]] on 21st March 2001. Go there for dung furniture, evil pterodactyls, rock concerts, and of course a [[Giant Omelette]]!

Originally, Tyrannia had three maps to its name: the Jungle, the Plateau to the North, and the Volcano even further north. After [[The Tyrannian Invasion]], the volcano map was removed inexplicably, and the volcano's shops and games moved down to the Plateau, although visiting it [http://www.neopets.com/prehistoric/volcano.phtml here] does result in a 1 player battledome challenge being issued.

Was attacked shortly after its discovery in The Tyrannian Invasion.

The weekly [[Neopets]] newspaper called The Neopian Times. originally featured only some articles, but has become a large weekly project filled with comics, short stories, and continued or new series. It also features an editorial written by site administrator and Neopets co-creator [[Donna Williams]]. It is an extremely popular feature on the site.

Dubbed "fan fiction", as none of the stories/comics take place in actual Neopets History.

==How it began==
===First look===
The Neopian Times started out not as pretty as it is now, but people could still send in stuff. The first issues were short stories, series that were pretty short and articles. The comics were NOT in the Neopian Times. It was only later on did they appear.

The first look of the Neopian Times had a banner of a man and a woman in 80's style with the text "For an easier life". This page still exists, but the links to the stories and comics don't work anymore.

===Second look===
The second was made out of tables and most of them still had no comics. You can find it here: [http://neopets.com/neopiantimes.phtml Old Neopian Times]. On issue 57 the comics page started. This newspaper had an Guild Spotlight, showing and telling about one of the guilds in Neopia. The Neopian Times stopped doing this though. The banner was replaced by a Jubjub reading the Neopian Times.

===Third Look===

The third look was a bigger version of the second look. Changes that came with this look is the Quote of The Week (quoting something out of a story etc.), on the right there is something called More Stories, in which you can click one without having to go to the Story page and the big buttons that you used to navigate with have been turned into small buttons.

The banner with the Jubjub was now changed to how many Neopians had read the Neopian Times instead of just saying 12,500,000.

===Fourth look===
The most recent one, and the one that most people know. It is a little bit like the third look, but it is easier to navigate in. It is not just a pile of text. The buttons with comics, articles and stuff have been replaced with text and a random caption is posted on the left, under the banner. The banner is now The Neopian Times with 1 blue quill on each side.

The former Editor was Josh or better known as Mr. Shankly, but he left in issue 75. His trademark was his love of dung and most of the submissions in his last issue as editor as a farewell gift reflected his love of dung e.g Hippiesoul's The Dung Hero.

===Snowflake===

The Editor who replaced him was Felicia or lovingly known as Ms Snowflake. She worked at Neopets in various roles (such as Email Support) and rose the ranks to become the Neopian Times Editor until issue 195.

She has now left Neopets to become an accountant.

===Droplet===
Droplet then continued on and took the job of Editor. She was Snowflake's assistant.

===White Weewoo===
The White Weewoo is a petpet on Neopets. The author [http://neopets.com/randomfriend.phtml?user=laurensama Laurensama], also known as Linny, wanted an White Weewoo to resemble Hedwig from Harry Potter so much, that fellow authors hid White Weewoo references in their stories, comics and articles.

The White Weewoo has become one of the symbols for the [http://ntwriters.proboards53.com/ NTWF] and was found on 23 October 2003. Snowflake gave the authors who were published in the week that the White Weewoo was released a White Petpet Paintbrush. October 28th could be seen as an Neopets holiday for writers, as the White Weewoo was officially released that day.

Articles usually do not tell a story. Short Stories are very different from Articles. Short Stories have a beginning, middle, and end all in 1200 to 4000 words. They are not separated into any parts. Like, the Magic Paw, you can write the story of the Magic Paw how you think it goes.

Comics are different then the other two. The comic is made out of pictures (drawn by yourself) and need to have a joke. A serious comic series can also be made and submitted, although you do need to send atleast 2 comic parts at a time. Comics need decent art and a good, understandable joke.

Series are long stories that have around the 1500 words for each part. The longest a series can be is 12 parts. These are stories with a plot that is too long for a short story. For example, it turns out to be 4600 words, it's 600 higher than the maximum limit for short stories. You can then divide it in 2 parts for a 2 part series.

The latter was a war in which [[Dr. Frank Sloth]] attmepted to take over the world by unleashing a large number of evil things on Neopia, and others had to defeat them. They got points based on how many opponents they beat.

Grey Faerie

[[Faerie]] in [[Neopia]] that doesn't receive much attention. Once lost her wings, and thereby her powers and was imprisoned by a dark faerie, but freed by a Kyrii mountain climber who tricked the lock of her cage.
Her old name was Baelia, and together with [[Taelia]] she is one of only two faeries with feathered wings (a few feathers can be seen sticking from her back). A very rare doll exists that shows Baelia's original shape : she wore green clothing, had green eyes, white wings and white hair. It is interesting to note that there are no faeries other than her that have white hair, like Taelia is the only one who has black hair. Currently she looks grey however, until she receives a new name which will restore her powers.

The Grey Faerie is also rumoured to have been stripped of her powers by a Dark Faerie named Jennamura, which some believe is the [[Darkest Faerie]], from the PS2 game and the upcoming plot. Some say she will be instrumental in the online plot, and may even recover her name and her powers.
