'''Lutari Island''' is a tropical island on the other side of [[Neopia]] filled with [[Lutari]]. Released on June 24, 2006, Lutari Island is similar to [[Mystery Island]] in that its inhabitants and land it filled with wild colours and natives. It's a very mysterious island, as it's not rooted to the ground, but floats from place to place, never in the same place, and not available to regular users. This is also because Lutari Island is an exclusive island available only to users who pay for [[Neopets Mobile]] offered by ''In-fusio''.

Some features of the Island...

*Lutari Savings Bank - A branch of of the [[National Neopian Bank]].
*Survival Academy - a place where users can train their [[Neopet]]. Only accept feathers from their native birds as payment.
*[[Wheel of Happiness]] - Can be spun every 30 minutes for 100 [[Neopoints]].
*Fluorescent Pools - a place where a user's Neopet can be healed.
*Bog of Charity - A place similar to the [[Money Tree]].
*Briana's Quest - [[Briana]] is an [[Air Faerie]] who will sometimes give out special [[Quests]].

=Criticism=
Some users feel it's unfair to have Lutari Island only avaiable to Neopets Mobile users, which can't be had because of the cost or the lack of a Cingular cellphone, similar to the way some users don't have [[Neopets Premium]].

The '''Acara''' is a cat-like [[Neopet]] and has two horns on its head which drape backwards like ponytails. Acaras are amphibious and can breathe underwater, and it is sometimes hinted that the "tentacles" somehow give the Acara the ability to echolocate when submerged in water. The tentacles may imply that the Acara was based on ''Capricorn''. In general, they tend to be very playful and enjoy exploring, racing, and looking for hidden treasure under the sea. Some think that acaras are the best pets out there, while some others are not so fond of the acaras look.

As their huge eyes might suggest, Acaras are known for being highly inquisitive and curious creatures. They take a great joy in coming upon secrets and hidden things, and quite a few have distinguished themselves as very talented treasure-seekers. Some condemn Acaras for being nosey, and it is true that they tend to ask a few too many questions -- but there is no ill will behind those questions, just a genuine desire to learn.

Since they are equally at home on land or underwater, Acaras prefer to live along the coast.

They can be painted in any of 36+ colors available to the species. One of the more interesting of these is the [[Maraquan]] variant, which appears to be a return to the Acara's watery roots.

Originally, they were [[Limited Edition]] but have now become common.

When first introduced on the Neopets website on April 28, 2000, the pet now known as the Acara was an otter-like Neopet called the '''Tigren'''. They were chosen from a player's design as part of a Create-A-Pet contest. The name was changed on July 19 for reasons unknown, along with the '''Polypup''''s change to the [[Gelert]]. The news page of the time touted the change as "evolution", in keeping with the Pokémon-like feel that the pets originally had.
