'''Scout''', also known as the ''Cybunny Scout'' or just ''The Scout'', is a 16 year old [[Yellow]] [[Cybunny]] and a spy for [[The Resistance]]. Scout is witty and dedicated to the Resistance's cause. She is quite good with a ray gun and has developed something of a rivalry with [[Ylana Skyfire]].

==Plot summary==

As the story opens, Scout is being chased by Ylana Skyfire, who has been paid by [[Dr. Frank Sloth|Dr. Sloth]] to take out the Resistance spy. Fleeing through a maintenance pipe, Scout manages to escape from Ylana. She then makes her way toward a large common area where she is supposed to meet up with her Resistance contact, [[Gorix]]. However, before she can meet with Gorix, Dr. Sloth's troops, lead by [[Commander Garoo]], attack the space station. In the ensuing chaos, Gorix accidently flees with [[Cylara]] instead of Scout. Trapped with the rest of captured civilians, Scout pretends to be Cylara in order to hide her identity from Sloth's troops.

Scout and the rest of the civilians are later rescued by a small team of Resistance fighters lead by Gorix. These fighters are able to hold back Sloth's troops long enough to get all of the civilians to a transport shuttle that will evacuate them to [[Neopia]]. However, as the last of the civilians are being loaded onto the shuttle, Scout and Gorix are attacked by Ylana. Ylana is able to shoot Scout in the foot, injuring her and leaving her wide open to attack. Cylara, seeing her new friend in trouble, gives up her chance to board the transport shuttle and instead tackles Ylana from behind, throwing the bounty hunter off balance. Seizing the opportunity, Gorix fires some shots from his laser gun which push back Ylana, allowing himself, Cylara, and Scout to escape.

After avoiding some [[Garoo Elite Strike Commanders]] by clinging to some pipes on the ceiling, Scout, Cylara, and Gorix are able to make their way back to Resistance Headquarters. Once they arrive, Scout informs [[Commander Valka]] and the rest of the Resistance that she believes that Sloth had a hand in starting the current civil war between the [[Grundo|Grundos]] on [[Kreludor]] and that he was mostly likely after the Kreludite in the Grundos' mines. Scout also reveals that she was able to obtain a disc of Sloth's experimental data during her last reconnaissance mission. This data is promptly sent [[Werther]], who is able to analyze it and determine that Sloth plans on using the Kreludite that he stole from the Grundos' mines to mutate Neopets and create an army.

After hearing this information, Valka asks the injured Scout to stay at the Resistance Headquarters and rest. A while later, resistance operatives detect a large fleet of Sloth's ships heading toward Kredulor. They also receive a transmission from the [[Space Faerie]] who informs them that her token is aboard Sloth's ship and that if someone can to get ahold of the token, she can give them the incantation to use its magic. Scout passes this information along to Gorix and Cylara, who warn the Grundos of the approaching fleet and then head towards Sloth's ship to retrieve the token.

Meanwhile, in order to take back control of the space station, Valka and the resistance fighters attack Commander Garoo and his troops. During this battle, Scout sees Ylana on one of the headquarter's monitors, which prompts her to rush into the fray despite her injuries. Scout is able to sneak up behind the Acara bounty hunter amidst the chaotic battle, and the two engage in an evenly matched fight. This fight abruptly ends when Sloth's ship is destroyed, and Ylana, knowing that there is now no one to pay her, decides to teleport away.

In the last page of the comic, Scout meets up with Gorix and Cylara, who have just returned from defeating Dr. Sloth. Gorix, who up to this point had just been calling Scout "the scout", asks Scout what her name is. Scout tells him her name and then jokingly scolds Gorix for not knowing it after working with her for so long.

After her spaceship's engine malfunctions, Scout crash lands in [[Tyrannia]]. During the crash, she hits her head, which causes her to hallucinate and see giant bug monsters. Believing that these imaginary monsters are trying to attack her, Scout starts wildly blasting her ray gun. Fearful of Scout's erratic behavior, one of local [[Tyrannian]] citizens calls the Defenders of Neopia, and [[Judge Hog]] quickly dispatches [[Dr. Flexo]] to the scene. Dr. Flexo attempts to talk to Scout, but he instead ends up startling her, causing her to shoot a nearby canyon wall which causes rocks to avalanche down on a nearby group of Tyrannians. After Dr. Flexo saves the Tyrannians from the falling rocks, the delirious Scout concludes that he must be the leader of the bug monsters and starts attacking the flexible [[Blue]] [[Chia]]. By blasting at him with her gun, Scout forces Dr. Flexo to bob and weave until he ties himself in a knot. It is only after the user defeats Scout in the [[Battledome]] that Dr. Flexo is finally able to get her under control.

An [[Acara]] who was the unfortunate victim of a cruel spell. She was once beautiful, but now is tainted by evil. It is suspected that a [[Dark Faerie]] cast the spell on her.

Vira was a pretty and vain Acara, spending her days playing in the flowers, making daisy chains to braid into her long hair. One day, she wished to be the most beautiful Acara in the whole of the world, but the [[Dark Faerie|wrong ears]] heard her wish. "You are pretty," the shadowy voice said. "Only I can make you beautiful..."

Ever since, Vira has wandered those same fields, kissing the flowers, but making them poisonous to the touch. The magic mirrors she gives away do not show reality, but a twisted, ugly version of it. Anyone who looks into her mirrors at first finds themselves very beautiful, but that beauty fades into ugliness, and the mirror whispers with a dark voice, "There's only one way to get your beauty back..."

The NeoCharge system is basically a new way of addressing two important problems that have been impacting Neopets and its users.

Firstly, many of you may have noticed the influx of new users to Neopets. This is good! We're happy to have the opportunity to entertain so many people around the world! However, while we have over 200+ servers to handle this load, it seems that's just not enough for the millions of visitors we have every day, and we aren't able to upgrade fast enough to keep up! The NeoCharge system helps make sure that users only load the pages they need to, and don't constantly refresh over and over, using up valuable resources. This should make the site run more smoothly for everyone!

Secondly, with inflation climbing higher every day, we needed to find a way of stabilizing the economy. Before the NeoCharge system, Neopoints entered the Neopian economy at a rate that was approximately 400% greater than the rate at which they left the economy! Any economist will tell you that's not a very good thing. Not only does it greatly unbalance the economy, it causes mass inflation and severely rising prices (among other things). With the NeoCharge system, we can steadily remove Neopoints from the economy at a rate roughly equivalent to the rate of Neopoints entering. This means less inflation, lower prices, and a happier Neopets experience for everyone!

So there you have it - the two major reasons behind NeoCharge. And we're not done with it! We will constantly review the system to make sure it's doing its job. We don't want to take more Neopoints out of the economy than we have to, and we definitely don't want larger, more costly areas of the site to be restricted to only the wealthiest Neopians, so please bear with us while we adjust the numbers early on and into the future.

The ''Battledome'' section of the [[NeoBoard]] was taken out, and all [[shop]]s which sold [[Battledome Equipment]] were recognized as an invalid shop. Even the [[Hidden Tower]] redirected to the letter shown above.

Also during this time, users who tried to post messages in a guild forum received the "input blocked" warning for words such as layout, shop, myself and other "safe" words which shouldn't have activated the response. Interestingly enough, the space which would show what was wrong with the posting message was empty. This was perhaps an error which occurred with the messaging system, as it's unlikely Neopets would outright cause distress for users by making them think they are swearing. Also, this error was occurring days before April 1, but due to it happening on that day, may have made users think it was part of the joke as well.

It is part of a mystery [[plot]]: the user interviews crew members with each chapter to determine what happened to the ship's lost navigator, [[Hoban]].

The ship sells exclusive foods, weaponry, and medicines which are available for buy while it is docked, and a game, [[Kou-jong]], is also available. The design of the [[Wikipedia:Junk (ship)|ship's rigging]], along with the items it was supplying and Kou-jong, seem to imply that the vessel comes from a [[Wikipedia:China|Chinese]] style world (although similar Chinese ships are not capable of flight, unlike The Cyodrake's Gaze). Its relation to the [[Cyodrake]], the [[Petpet]] which it borrows its name from, is unknown.

It is suspected that a new world may be released due to the overall oriental style of the ship (considering there is not a existing oriental world), probably named ''Shenkuu'', a name revealed on the Kou-jong page accidentally at its first release. More than likely, this will be an the island on the other side of [[Neopia]].

The Cyodrake's Gaze appeared at [[Krawk Island]] on the August 3, 2006, unable to make it to [[Mystery Island]], their destination. The ship had just sailed through a storm, during which they lost much of their supplies and also appeared to have lost their navigator, [[Hoban]], overboard. [[Captain Tuan]] shared his story with users, detailing what happened from his perspective. Three days later, presumably when the ship had repaired sufficiently, it sailed away.

On 8th August, the ship appeared on the shores south of Mystery Island. The crew had hoped to find Hoban there, but he had not reached it. As they resupplied, [[Kentari]] have his story of the night of the storm. The ship set sail at midnight [[NST]] on the August 11, again having stopped for only three days.

On the 15th August, the ship reappeared in [[Faerieland]] - the Captain had forgotten to mention that the ship can fly. [[Chef Bonju]] was interviewed, and the ship left Faerieland at midnight on 19th August.

The ship reappeared on the 23rd in the [[Lost Desert]], where Linae gave her version of events. The ship left the desert on 27th.

At the start of dinner, Captain Tuan sent Orrin to the supply room to complete the inventory he had failed to finish, where he locked him in until he had completed his work. On returning to the mess room, he found Hoban declaring "Let's see you laugh when I sail you into a storm!" before marching from the room. After dinner, a storm arrived, and the captain called for all hands on deck, The storm lasted for several hours and after it the ship was somewhat worse for wear, having lost a considerable amount of supplies overboard. Realising that Hoban and Orrin were not with them, and that the captain had locked Orrin below deck for the entire duration of the storm, Tuan sends First Mate Shumi to fetch the [[Nimmo]]. As soon as he reached the captain, Orrin says that during the storm he heard a scream and saw someone fall into the water. Despite their searches, the crew could not find the navigator on board, concluding he had indeed been washed over.

====Kentari's Account====
According to Kentari, Hoban said his fateful line in a angry manner, whereas Tuan thought it was less emotional. The crew dismissed Hoban, and carried on with their meal. Kentari finished his meal first, and left the mess room before the others. He went to the armoury and ran his usual inspection - everything was in order. However, later on, while he was doing his rounds, he saw Chef Bonju leave the armoury, concealing something in his jacket. Before he could investigate, the storm broke out and Kentari was called to deck. While he was trying to secure the starboard side brace for the forward topsail, Hoban came over to assist him, complaining that Linae thought he was bad luck and had brought the storm on the ship himself. Kentari did not see Hoban again in the storm.

====Chef Bonju's Account====
According to Chef Bonju, Hoban spoke his words matter-of-factly before leaving the room, and the others enjoyed the meal greatly. He noted that Linae and Anshu remained behind, whispering together. He then thoroughly washed the dishes, but as he was getting to the silverware had to go up to the deck as the storm broke out. He saw Hoban three times in the storm, first at the starboard railing, then at the port railing, then later he talked to him, although this does not match Anshu's account, when he had calmed down. He asked whether he was thought of as bad luck, as Linae had said something to that effect which had irritated him. When prompted, Bonju explained his trip to the armoury by saying he was fetching a knife to carve with, as the one he usually uses had mysteriously vanished. However, if the Chef was busy washing up when the storm started, he would not have had the time to go to the armoury and fetch a knife, if the timing Kentari recalls is accurate. Also, it has been questioned what the Chef would need to carve ''after'' after the meal. Finally, it should be noted that the knife he took from the store does not appear to be suitable for carving, although this may be a mistake on the behalf of the artists.

====Linae's Account====
By Linae's account, Hoban's muttered his words furiously, like a "fateful hex". After dinner, Linae returned to her cabin, stopping to pause and speak with Anshu, apparently about the poor quality of the food, although this seems unlikely as the other crew members seem to be able to go on at length about the meal and it does not match Anshu's explanation. She describes her discussion with Anshu as "brief", while Bonju insisted they lingered behind to talk. In her cabin, she began to play a game of [[Kou-jong]], but found she was missing her ''Lost Desert Sunset'' tile. Having searched her cabin, she then went up onto deck, where she found it behind a crate. While retrieving it, she heard Anshu and Hoban arguing, but the call for all hands on deck came shortly after they started arguing, and Hoban went to the wheel. She worked on deck for a while, twice beside Hoban, before going below deck to help Anshu fix a leak, although Anshu does not mention her himself. She considers Hoban responsible for the storm, and bad luck.

====Anshu's Account====
Anshu's recollection is that Hoban's words were spoken less angrily than Linae recalls, and possibly with some desperation. After their meal, Linae pulled Anshu briefly to one side to ask about an undisclosed medical issue. Anshu then went for a brief walk, alone, on deck, but just before the storm came he got into an argument with Hoban. Anshu wanted to stop in at Krawk Island to obtain some medical supplies, but Hoban refused to change course. As the storm hit, Hoban went to the wheel while Anshu was sent down below to repair a leak. Twice Anshu heard Hoban above him on deck, the first time, when he investigated, Hoban was arguing with someone, and then later he heard him arguing again, on the aftdeck, but when he inquired Bonju didn't know anything about it.

====Hoban's Account====
According to Hoban's story, he claims that after he stated the fateful line, he left the dining area to his map room to get some work done. Several hours after, Anshu confronted him and his story is similar to Anshu's, where they both get into a heated argument. At one o'clock, Captain Tuan sent him to assist Linae. two hours later, he went to help Kentari and was ignored. He then got into arguments with Anshu and Linae until 5.00. He was passing the cargo crates at six o'clock when he noticed Bonju was furious at how he had not finished the "glorious meal" hours before. Hoban then confronted him and in the resulting fight, he was pushed overboard by Bonju. After his eventual rescue, Bonju was finally punished by being locked in the storeroom, and Captain Tuan invites you to visit his homeland of Shenkuu.

'''The Cyodrake's Gaze''' is a vessel that appears to be from an (as of yet) unreleased world that first appeared, unexpectedly, at the harbour of [[Krawk Island]]. It seems to be a lead up to a new world.

It is part of a mystery [[plot]]: the user interviews crew members with each chapter to determine what happened to the ship's lost navigator, [[Hoban]].

The ship sells exclusive foods, weaponry, and medicines which are available for buy while it is docked, and a game, [[Kou-jong]], is also available. The design of the [[Wikipedia:Junk (ship)|ship's rigging]], along with the items it was supplying and Kou-jong, seem to imply that the vessel comes from a [[Wikipedia:China|Chinese]] style world (although similar Chinese ships are not capable of flight, unlike The Cyodrake's Gaze). Its relation to the [[Cyodrake]], the [[Petpet]] which it borrows its name from, is unknown.

It is suspected that a new world may be released due to the overall oriental style of the ship (considering there is not a existing oriental world), probably named ''Shenkuu'', a name revealed on the Kou-jong page accidentally at its first release. More than likely, this will be an the island on the other side of [[Neopia]].

The ship had just sailed through a storm, during which they lost much of their supplies and also appeared to have lost their navigator, [[Hoban]], overboard. [[Captain Tuan]] shared his story with users, detailing what happened from his perspective. Three days later, presumably when the ship had repaired sufficiently, it sailed away.

On 8th August, the ship appeared on the shores south of Mystery Island. The crew had hoped to find Hoban there, but he had not reached it. As they resupplied, [[Kentari]] have his story of the night of the storm. The ship set sail at midnight [[NST]] on the August 11, again having stopped for only three days.

On the 15th August, the ship reappeared in [[Faerieland]] - the Captain had forgotten to mention that the ship can fly. [[Chef Bonju]] was interviewed, and the ship left Faerieland at midnight on 19th August.

The ship reappeared on the 23rd in the [[Lost Desert]], where Linae gave her version of events. The ship left the desert on 27th.

He saw Hoban three times in the storm, first at the starboard railing, then at the port railing, then later he talked to him, although this does not match Anshu's account, when he had calmed down. He asked whether he was thought of as bad luck, as Linae had said something to that effect which had irritated him. When prompted, Bonju explained his trip to the armoury by saying he was fetching a knife to carve with, as the one he usually uses had mysteriously vanished. However, if the Chef was busy washing up when the storm started, he would not have had the time to go to the armoury and fetch a knife, if the timing Kentari recalls is accurate. Also, it has been questioned what the Chef would need to carve ''after'' after the meal. Finally, it should be noted that the knife he took from the store does not appear to be suitable for carving, although this may be a mistake on the behalf of the artists.

====Linae's Account====
By Linae's account, Hoban's muttered his words furiously, like a "fateful hex". After dinner, Linae returned to her cabin, stopping to pause and speak with Anshu, apparently about the poor quality of the food, although this seems unlikely as the other crew members seem to be able to go on at length about the meal and it does not match Anshu's explanation. She describes her discussion with Anshu as "brief", while Bonju insisted they lingered behind to talk. In her cabin, she began to play a game of [[Kou-jong]], but found she was missing her ''Lost Desert Sunset'' tile. Having searched her cabin, she then went up onto deck, where she found it behind a crate. While retrieving it, she heard Anshu and Hoban arguing, but the call for all hands on deck came shortly after they started arguing, and Hoban went to the wheel. She worked on deck for a while, twice beside Hoban, before going below deck to help Anshu fix a leak, although Anshu does not mention her himself. She considers Hoban responsible for the storm, and bad luck.

====Anshu's Account====
Anshu's recollection is that Hoban's words were spoken less angrily than Linae recalls, and possibly with some desperation. After their meal, Linae pulled Anshu briefly to one side to ask about an undisclosed medical issue. Anshu then went for a brief walk, alone, on deck, but just before the storm came he got into an argument with Hoban. Anshu wanted to stop in at Krawk Island to obtain some medical supplies, but Hoban refused to change course. As the storm hit, Hoban went to the wheel while Anshu was sent down below to repair a leak. Twice Anshu heard Hoban above him on deck, the first time, when he investigated, Hoban was arguing with someone, and then later he heard him arguing again, on the aftdeck, but when he inquired Bonju didn't know anything about it.

The '''Altador Cup''' was announced by [[Neopets]] on May 31, 2006, to commence one the June 2, 2006. It is a sporting event with teams from sixteen [[Neopian]] worlds participating.

The role of the user and the system of play is still unclear. It is believed that either players will be supporting (and maybe betting) on their team, or that they will be be playing as part of their team in a localised competition rather than a community-wide competition. Users could select the team they wish to join/support and change teams if they wish until June 8, 2006.

==Plot Summary==
On June 2 all teams from around Neopia gathered to practice for the games ahead of them, and countless Neopians gathered to watch their favorites take the field. Inbetween practices, most of the players would go and meet their fans, signing autographs. Five days later and the day before the games began, [[Kiko Lake]]'s Left Forward [[Holbie Pinnock]] was injured due to [[Relle Felson]]'s sling breaking and flying off into Holbie's head, taking him out of the games. [[Helmo Timm]], the one Holbie was replacing, immediately asked to be put back in the game to play, or Kiko Lake would likely not win their games.

On June 9 the first round matches of the Altador Cup tournament begun. Among the eight match ups, two showed to be very interesting. First was "The Moon vs. The Goons," or the [[Haunted Woods]] versus [[Kreludor]]. It was uncertain who would win, but it would be entertaining.

Second was [[Brightvale]] and Kiko Lake. With Kiko Lake suffering from a recent string of injuries fans were devastated to learn they were facing Brightvale in Round One, who are notorious for their roughhouse tactics. They were certainly going to take a cheap shot at Timm and put her back on the sidelines for good.

==Yooyuball==
The game played to win the Altador Cup is called Yooyu ball. Gameplay appears to be based on [[Wikipedia:Jai_alai|Jai alai]], where players carry a ball in a sling and charge down the field, trying to throw the ball into the other teams net to score a goal. The ball is actually a rolled up [[Petpet]] called a [[Yooyu]], a creature native to Altador.

There are a variety of different Yooyus that are used in each game, which gives the sport an unpredictable twist. For example, a team might alter its particular strategy depending on the type of Yooyu that's currently in play.

Before each game of Yooyuball begins, users choose the formation they want their players to stand in and select which direction the would like to move the ball down the field. Using the mouse, you point at the player you'd like to move around. This will select the player. The selected player can be guided around the field using your mouse. When a player has possession of the ball, click the left mouse button to throw the ball.

If a user wanted to unselect a player, they pressed the spacebar or the ''S'' key. When none of the players were selected, they can click anywhere on the field to move the closest player to the position they clicked on. To toggle between players, press the left and right arrow keys (or the ''A'' and ''D'' keys). To activate a player when toggling between them, press the spacebar. Press the Shift key to move your players back to their starting positions.

A new rule was added on June 24, 2006, which would make the Yooyu jump from a keeper's hand and into the playing feild if is stayed longer than 5 seconds. This was perhaps changed because too many users were scoring a single goal, then letting the keeper hold onto the ball for the remainder of play, scoring an automatic win.

===Tournament Rules===
The Altador Cup Tournament consists of sixteen teams representing the lands of Neopia. Tournament play is single-elimination, which means that the team that wins a match moves on to the next round, while the team that loses is eliminated from all play. Sixteen teams are randomly seeded and matched up, and After the eight losing teams are eliminated the eight winning teams will again be randomly matched up and move on to the quarterfinals. In the quarterfinals, four more teams will be eliminated while the remaining four will head to the semifinals. Semifinal play will determines which two teams will battle it out in the final match.

The Altador Cup Committee is a group of officials who carefully examine each play, making sure that the rules of Yooyuball are followed. Players or fans who feel something needs to be reviewed can file a petition, and the committee will decide whether or not to rule on the matter. Once both sides of the issue are heard, the committee gathers in its private chambers to discuss the situation and then votes on an appropriate course of action.

While some might feel they are too strict, the committee's decisions play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of the game, and the committee members' actions are always motivated by a desire to protect the game's best interests.

Sixteen [[Neopian]] worlds participated, each sending a team to compete in the Colleseum in Altador. There was also a seventeenth team from [[Jelly World]], who played as the practice team. The Altador Cup Committee chose nominees for each of the categoriesm and users were asked to choose who they thought was most deserving of the award. ==Staff Tournament==
On June 10, 2006, it was revealed [[The Neopets Team]] would be participating in Altador Cup as well, as an internal staff tournament within the offices. Sixteen members of the Neopets staff were assigned a team, and each competed in a mini Altador Cup tournament.
