The Tale of Woe
:Main Article: The Tale of Woe

Gilly was lost in the Haunted Woods (again) and came upon a travelling Gypsy Camp, where a pink Elephante gypsy told her The Legend of Neovia. The next morning, she found a path she went through before, and discovered Neovia. While walking through its streets, she found a burnt down house, and investigating it found a mysterious silver locket. Curious about it, Gilly went to the Deserted Fairgrounds to ask the carnival workers if they knew anything about it. The responses varied from worker to worker but she did not get any definitive information.

Returning to Neovia, she investigated a path into the woods that lead her to Sophie's shack. Gilly entered warily and asked if Sophie knew anything about the cursed town. Sophie, annoyed, merely said that there were a lot of myths associated with the Woods. When Gilly said that she had seen the city, and had a locket she was trying to investigate, Sophie snatched the charred relic and demanded Gilly to leave, lest she turn her into a stink beetle like she should have done to begin with.

Gilly ran from the house into the rain, and discovered a cave. Taking shelter in it, she was pursued by a monstrous, shadowy creature who she managed to trap using an assortment of broken furniture and some rotten food as bait. The muscular, disfigured Gelert rose from the trap and chased Gilly from the cave, and crashed through the woods after her to Sophie's shack. She pounded on Sophie's door, imploring for help, and when Sophie came out to send Gilly away, she suddenly recognised the beast as her brother: Bruno.

Bruno told his sister what had happened to him, and Sophie explained that Ilere took her to the shack and vanished, and that when she returned to Neovia a few days later, it was deserted. It remained deserted until Halloween, where it was bustling with spectral, unreal and strangely vacant forms the inhabitants. Every Halloween, they reappeared there. Sophie had worked ever since then on a cure, but to no avail.

Gilly realized that this must be the price the Spirit of Slumber executed for his services. Sophie and Bruno did not know this of the legend, and encouraged by Gilly, they went to find Ilere, in the hope that she knew more about the Spirit.

After travelling through the woods for some time and solving a Ghost Meepit lock puzzle, the trio entered Ilere's home and told her what they knew of Neovia's curse. Ilere claimed that the Spirit has great power and that they should abandon this mission before they got hurt. Bruno, enraged at this, ran at Ilere, who fought back with a blast of magic. Sophie separated the two with a spell of her own, and Bruno complained that with all Ilere's power she just sits back and does nothing about Neovia, and left Sophie to fend for herself.

Ilere admits that Sophie is stronger than she suspected, and tells Sophie what she knows of the Spirit, but suggests they seek out older denizens of the wood - those that have been there far longer than she, and would know more of him. They part with Ilere's wish to them that they, for their own sake, do not succeed.

Gilly suggests they do as Ilere mentioned, and seek out other habitants of the Woods. She suggests the Brain Tree, but Sophie refuses on account of a "bad experience" with him. When Gilly insists, she receives the brunt of a blast of magic. Bruno complains that Gilly is right, and Sophie had to overcome her grudge. However, when they talked to the Brain Tree, he said he needed to know when the Spirit died before he gave them his name. Gilly takes them to the Esophagor, to the protest of Sophie who had another "bad experience" with it, but the Esophagor requires the Spirits name to give a date of birth.

Gilly complains about the paradox, which prompts Sophie to mention that she can use a potion to identify the bones of the Spirit. When asked how they could know which grave to search, the answer is obvious: Bruno, Gilly and Sophie had to check every single grave in the Haunted Woods until they found a match. Gilly finally found the Spirit of Slumber's bone, but the headstone on the grave it came from was broken, so they could not find the name yet.

They decide that the best way to find the Spirit's name is to go to the Caretaker's house, look through the books storing the names and cross out everyone until they're left with one match. The Spirit's true name was Jubart Igig. Gilly comments that this could be an anagram of something, but then decided against it. This was probably a reference to her experiences in the Castle of Eliv Thade. Sophie slams the book shut, saying that the only way they can summon him is to have the Spirit inhabit their body. Bruno says he'll do it, for Gilly was too small. After some potion mixing and testing, the Spirit of Slumber inhabited Bruno's body and led the way to Neovia. Gilly says that she hoped that they don't run into any werelupes, and Sophie says that werelupes are quite rare around Neovia. On the way, Sophie stares at her necklace, and Gilly comments that it's very pretty.

After arriving at Neovia, Gilly adds that Sophie would have to introduce her to her mother one they cure the town. Sophie commented that this might not work, but Gilly objects, saying that she knows they will. The Spirit of Slumber undoes his spell, then leaves Bruno's body, leaving him weak.

Looking quite frazzled, Gilly tries to get Sophie's attention. Sophie turns around just in time to see that the townspeople, including her family, were mutating past there cursed forms into even more monstrous forms. Gilly yelled that the Spirit of Slumber only undid his spell, and not the potion. Horrified, Sophie bolted out of neovia, leaving Gilly with Bruno. They try to run, but were surrounded by the mutated Neovians.

Mayor Thumburt pointed to them and said that they were the ones to blame, and the Neovians attacked. Bruno then spots Mr. Krawley, at the edge of the mob. Seeing that he noticed him, Krawley ran. Bruno says he'll hold back the crowd, and Gilly runs ater him. While running, Krawley brings a couple of grave stones and then some trees to life, and Gilly defeated them with a shovel, probably left over from the grave digging.

Gilly finally catches up with Mr. Krawley and accuses him of selling the potions, then asking who he was, where Krawley revealed his name. He tells her that what she needs is inside of the building they where standing in front of, and Gilly objects him of lying, but Krawley tells her he led her to the house for a reason. Then zombies groaning for brains walk in to the courtyard, probably summoned to life by Mr. Kawley. He tells her that the way is becoming blocked. Wearily, Gilly goes inside. Meanwhile, Bruno is being attacked by the neovians, and Sophie, returning back to her shack, begins mixing up a potion.

They part with Ilere's wish to them that they, for their own sake, do not succeed.

When Gilly insists, she receives the brunt of a blast of magic. Bruno complains that Gilly is right, and Sophie had to overcome her grudge.
Dueling Decks is a game which was part of the New Game Challenge starting on December 3rd, being the 10th game in the New Game Challenge.

How to Play
There are 40 Neopian character cards in the game in total, but just 20 cards are played in each game. You start out the game with 10 cards, and your opponent, Zenco the Mynci, also has 10 cards. A player plays one card at a time, and for each character card, they have three categories: Courage, Charisma, and Intelligence. Choose a category that you think that your card will beat Zenco's card in. Then, when you both show your cards, the player with more points in the chosen category wins the other card. The person who gets all the cards at the end wins the game.

There are 3 different mode types: Easy, Normal, and Hard. In Easy mode, after losing a card to Zenco, you still get to choose the next category. In Normal mode, after losing a card, Zenco chooses the next category by quickly moving his hand on the three categories, and when you click the button, he'll stop moving his hand and choose the category he's pointing to at that time. In Hard mode, when you lose a card, Zenco gets to choose the next card without your influence at all.

There's also a 41st card that serves as a wild card: you may play it at any time to replace your current card, but its use is limited to once per game.
Gnorbu known for their spirited sense of humour, and enjoy making others laugh even if it's at their own expense. Despite its natural lack of agility, the Gnorbu has a kind heart and a good-natured outlook that can win it many friends. They also enjoy social activities such as browsing through shops in Neopia Central or eating with their closest friends.

The Gnorbu was originally made public under the name Llamameeah, as part of the April Fool's joke in 2005. Several months after voting was held for what April Fool's Neopet to release, a few images of the Gnorbu appeared on the image servers. It is the least popular of the Neopets not Limited Edition. As of April 2007, with over 790 thousand in existence.

Trivia
*As of April 2007, there were over 790 thousand Gnorbu created, placing them 44th in popularity our of 54 Neopets. They are also 27 different items which feature the Gnorbu, and they come in 18 different colours.
*Some users have suggested that, as the Gnorbu is the least popular non-limited edition pet, it would have been better had TNT and the voters chosen another of the proposed Neopets.

The JubJub is a Neopet, and one of the original lineup of pets to adopt when Neopets went public. Throughout its varying colours, it is in essence a ball of fluff with a pair of orange feet. JubJubs are shy, secretive creatures who are scared easily, and prefer to keep to themselves. They aren't aggressive, but can defend themselves with a deafening screech when threatened. And while they are small, they can run or roll at an amazing speed.

Because of their small size, they are often mistaken for plants and vegetables, and this confusion is made all the more difficult with the fact they can be painted into various food items. Also, even though they don't have any hands they make due with using their feet in place of their hands, which is an easy task with their opposable toes.

It was questioned if Fuzzles are baby versions of the JubJub, but this has been disproven in a Help File, stating that Fuzzles are toys, and not Neopets.

The JubJub was originally called the JibJib, and has since been renamed "JubJub" on August 23, 2000. It is believed the JubJub attained its current name from the beast called the JubJub Bird in the Lewis Carroll poem, Jabberwocky.

Trivia
*As of June 6, 2006, JubJubs are placed 12th in popularity with 5.2 million in Neopia.
*A new look to the JubJub was given on June 6, 2006.
*In the Neopets TCG, JubJubs are associated with the element of air.

The Lutari is an otter-like Neopet, released as a Limited Edition Neopet on April 19, 2006. Lutari are alert, friendly Neopets who enjoy playing games outside. They are excellent swimmers and spend much of their time in the water. Lutari get very upset at the thought of being left in the Neopian Pound, and will run away to parts unknown if a user even tries.

The Neopet's release was long awaited as images of the Neopet in its four basic colours as well as Island have been on the image servers for almost a year. The first time a Lutari was officially seen was at the opening of the Happy Valley Ice Cream shop in (need date), whose shopkeeper is a Lutari, under the name Mr. Chipper.

With the release of the Lutari, the launch of Lutari Island, a new Neopian world which will only be accessible via mobile phones, is expected imminently. It is being developed by the company In-fusio, but little else is known about Lutari Island, which has also been referred to as In-fusio Island. However, a picture of the land has appeared in the Neopets Magazine, and many Lutari Island items have been found on the servers, including two petpets.

Colours
As of April 2007, the Lutari can be in 6 different colours...

<table align="center"><tr><td width="200" valign="top">
*Yellow - Natural
</td></tr></table>

Trivia
*As of January 12, 2007, there are 15,080 Lutari populating Neopia, ranking them 52nd in popularity.
*Was originally known as the Mok
*Users have expressed concern it may cost real money (through having to use a mobile phone) to acquire a Lutari as a pet, but this has since changed with the release of the Neopet.
*The Lutari is different from other Limited Edition Neopets as they are deleted if you attempt to abandon them, making transfer of the Neopet to a new owner impossible. There are Rumors that say the Lutari reappears in the create a petpage if pounded, but since no one is willing to pound one, it is unconfirmed. Made mention of in the editorial of issue 236 of the Neopian Times.
*A trophy called the Lutari Talisman was added to all User Lookups on June 28, 2006. So far users can only see their own collected beads, but it's possible The Neopets Team will let other users see another's collected beads soon.
*The Island colour was in the image database since (need date), but wasn't released until April 19, 2007.
The Xweetok is a chipmunk-like Neopet released on November 30, 2005. Originating from the forests of Neopia, they make their homes in hollowed out trees and logs, and are quite agile. Xweetoks enjoy being chased, and often indulge in games such as 'Tag' or 'Hide 'n' Seek' with others of its species. It has small claws on the tips of its paws, allowing it to climb steep crevices that seem difficult to other species.

The Xweetok was newly added to the website rather unexpectedly, and came with mixed reactions. Many members enjoyed it due to its likeness to real-life creatures, but with a Neopets-esque, coy look. Others disliked it due to the similarity to the Wocky and Acara. Still others thought that it was poorly drawn, and with people still holding their breath for the April Fool's pet and the Lutari, many found it annoying Neopets had made two new pets (The other being the Ogrin) while they were waiting.

Still, the Xweetok is popular, especially with younger players who are glad to get a cute-looking pet without having to buy a Paint Brush. Others love its Mutant look, which turns it into a rat-like creature. Since it was released, it has shot up the popularity charts, to land at #10 as of April 10, 2007, setting a new record for the fastest-growing new species population.

Trivia
