Just before the storm, he claimed to be washing the dishes from the earlier meal, while [[Kentari]] claimed Bonju had just left the armoury, concealing something under his jacket. During the storm, he supposedly saw Hoban three times: at the starboard, then port railings, and then he later talked to him - although this does not agree with [[Anshu]]'s account. <br />

Hoban revealed, when he was found by the crew, that it was Bonju that pushed him overboard because of a dispute about the meal he failed not eat earlier that night and Bonju was placed in solitary confinement in a storeroom until the ship returned to its port of origin. <br />
