==Prissy==

Before the Primella became the Primella, it was known as a Petpet named '''Prissy'''. It was forced to flee [[Maraqua]], it's original home, when it was destroyed. With the [[Maraquan Petpets (Shop)|shop selling them]] gone, they were temporarily unbuyable until August 29, 2001, when [[the Rock Pool]] opened on [[Mystery Island]]. The Rock Pool never truly sold Prissies though, as the [[List of Petpet redesigns|change]] took place just before that shop opened.

It is not impossible to still own a Prissy. Any Petpet who was attached to a [[Neopet (species)|Neopet]] at the time of the change will stay the same until it is removed. This means only a very few people still have a Prissy.

The '''Neopies''' is an annual awards ceremony held in January to celebrate the best of the last year. The ceremony was first hosted in 2009. Every day while the ceremony is in progress, four nominees are selected for a Neopies award category (e.g. ''Best Villain'' or ''Best News Days''). Users (referred to as ''attendees'') can then vote on which of four nominees they would like to win the award, and are given prizes of their own for taking the time to vote.

Since 2010, the ceremony has been hosted by a [[Blue]] [[Elephante]] called [[Ellsworth]]. The Neopies themselves are gold statuettes in the form of a [[Faerie]]. The name ''Neopies'' is a play on real-life award shows such as the [[Wikipedia:Grammy Awards|Grammies]] or the [[Wikipedia:Emmy Award|Emmies]].

==The Third Annual Neopies==
The Third Annual Neopies began at midnight on 11 January 2011.

Once released, a category remained open for votes for three days, and each day the user could vote for one nominee in each of the open categories - e.g. on day 7, the user could vote for Best Species-Specific Wearable, Best NC Mall Event, and Best Site Event - even if they had voted in one of those categories the previous day.

If the user voted every day, then on the last day of voting they were given a bonus prize - a ''3rd Annual Neopies Golden Trophy'' [[wearable]] [[toy]] and 20,000 [[NP]].

The '''NeoBoard''' is a collection of boards which users can post messages to each other around the world pertaining to special topics. Several staff members named ''Moderators'' look over the NeoBoards, making sure users are following the rules. Users can also self-moderate by reporting a message to moderators which they think is unsuitable for Neopets. There is also a filter which prevents a user from using profanity or lewd conduct on the site. However, many users often use symbols or spaces or a combo of them to use profanity, and it isn't filtered.

April Fools' on 2008 saw the introduction of a beta trial of a "NeoBuddies" system. A select number of users - in reality everyone - were chosen to trail the system, where a Neopian character would be paired with the player to offer advice while playing the site. A pop-up appeared on screen inviting the user to fill in a personality test in order to chose an appropriate buddy - every page would bug the player to fill out this questionnaire until it was done.

Despite the answers they gave, the player would be assigned [[Bug Eye McGee]] or [[Sir Fufon Lui]], who would regularly pop up to dispense some unsolicited advice. During the course of the day, the buddy got more and more irate at the player.

Two pranks were played this year as well: a hoax Battledome update - "Battledome in 3D" - was announced, featuring preview videos of people 'battling' with real-life [[plushies]].

Meanwhile, the "Prank Warehouse" was made available for the day. Accessible by a link in a random event, this allowed a player to play a prank on their NeoFriends for the day by transforming their Neopet into a pile of soot, throwing one of a variety of pies at them, covering them in slime, or changing their colour and species. The NeoBoard filters were altered for the day to make it harder for people to spoil the secret.

Shortly after logging on on 1 April, all the user's [[Neopets]] became infected with a "Unknown Disease", featuring coral-like growths on their body and complaining of a "a severe headache and a cough". The [[Neopian Hospital]] kept track the number of pets infected and the countdown to the end of the day.

From this page, the player could administer cures to other user's Neopets, but not their own - much like the Prank Warehouse interface from the previous year. These 'cures' appeared on that Neopet when it was viewed - temporarily replacing the disease pock marks. These cures were ''Freezing Cold Ice Pack'', ''Blazingly Hot Soup'', ''Indistinguishable Healing Goop'', ''Haphazardly Placed Splints'', ''Magical Healing [[Slorgs]]''. The ''Blazingly Hot Soup Background'' was awarded to players who cured lots of pets with Blazingly Hot Soup.

The progression of the disease was also recorded at the Neopian Hospital:

Due to the large number and variety of plushie items within Neopets (over 1500 items as of April 2009) and the general opinion that they are cute, plushies are one of the more popular items collected in [[Item Gallery|Item Galleries]].

Plushie colored pets are quite popular, as well, but are also very valued as the Plushie [[Paint Brush]] is one of the most expensive brushes in the game. The number of Plushie pets is somewhat limited because the [[Lab Ray]] will not paint pets Plushie colored which means that the only way for a user to obtain a Plushie pet is to buy a paint brush or morphing potion; or to use the prize from a [[Fountain Faerie]] Quest. Conversely, the Plushie Petpet Paint Brush is the least expensive Petpet paint brush, making Plushie Petpets quite easy to get.

Perhaps because of the popularity of plushies in Neopia, TNT has been producing plushie merchandise that is available in stores around the world. Some users have collected hundreds of the real plushie items both because they like them and for the [[Rare Item Code]]s that can be redeemed on the site and give out special Neopets items.

Plushie Tycoon is one of the more complicated games on the site and requires more time to play than most. The game restarts every month, starting within the first week of the month and ending at midnight [[NST]] on the last day of the month. If a player wishes to attain one of the [[Trophy|trophies]], they will need to spend 1-3 hours every day for run of the game (more time towards the end) making sure that their factory is producing plushies, shipping them to their plushie store and are being sold. The prizes vary depending on your final NP on hand and how many plushies you sold. This game can be quite lucrative to the user willing to spend time on it as the top prize yields a gold trophy and 200,000 NP. The top seventeen PT players in Neopia for the month also get on the [http://www.neopets.com/gamescores.phtml?game_id=170 high scores table] and earn 250-750 NP per day for the next month.

There are a few items that are plushies but are called toys. This includes most of the [[Poogle]] Plushies and a few [[Elephante]] plushies.

Most can be purchased from the [[Plushie Palace]] in the [[Neopian Plaza]]. Some are only available as prizes in [[Plots]] or from the annual [[Advent Calendar]] or other site events. Others are found while playing games around the site including [[Underwater Fishing]] and a variety of games in the [[Deserted Fairgrounds]]. Some are widely considered to be quite visually pleasing while others are broken, like the very common Headless Von Roo Plushie.

Paint Brush Plushies regularly cause confusion, especially with inexperienced players. Many ill-intentioned users will claim that these plushies work as Paint Brushes when, in fact, they are merely a toy and do not work to change a pet's colour. These users often scam the unaware out of thousands of Neopoints.

For example, using a Plushie Grundo Morphing Potion on any pet will turn it into a Plushie Grundo.

A different kind of plushie that is also sold in the Plushie Palace. Any pet-shaped plushie prefaced with the word ''Magical'' is a special item that acts like a [[Morphing Potion]] and will actually change a user's pet when played with. The item is only good for one use and, after, the magic will be used up and the item will become a simple ''Green Kiko Plushie''. In all, there are only 76 different Magical Plushies. The '''Acara''' is a species of [[Neopet]] that loves to live by the sea. They also have two horn-like protrusions on their heads that allow them to hear well underwater, and their thick coat of fur keeps them warm.

Its name may come from two species of [[wikipedia:cichlid|cichlid]]s - a family of freshwater fish - the [[wikipedia:blue acara|blue acara]] and the [[wikipedia:zebra acara|zebra acara]].

Acaras are typically fantastic swimmers who enjoy diving for treasure. In the [[Neopets Trading Card Game]], they are associated with the element of water.

The Acara was originally introduced as the Tigren on 28 April 2000. It was renamed to the Acara on 19 July, at the same time the Polypup became the [[Gelert]], and it was at this point that its design received the 'horns' brushed back over its head.
