Location: Outside on your boulevarde scaring small children. Um... or in Illinois.
Strongest weapon: Francisca - 1H-Axe 89 Attack Power (next is Yoichi Bow which is 75 Attack Power, but I did a late-game Mark, so I got it early. Pain in the butt, though.)

Levels:

Vaan: 34 Equipped with Pole
Balthier: 35 Equipped with Ninja Sword/Gun (gun seems to fare better, but being melee and strong once in a while is nice, since he's pretty weak. x_x)
Fran: 31 Equipped with Bow (slow to level... I'm about to give her a katana)
Basch: 32 Equipped with Axe
Ashe: 33 Equipped with Katana
Panelo: 33 Equipped with Mace (her weapon is CONSTANTLY changing, since mages are nigh useless so far, at least until I get the -aga spells, and I want her to be my mage. Either he or Fran (I've got every spell on Fran's license board unlocked.)

Highest level is 99, I believe.

I'm out doing a bit of leveling before I get to Salikawood. Even though I think levle 35 is over-leveled there, or something. It actually took me FOREVER to figure out how to get to the city I was supposed to go through. D:

The espers ARE neat. :D there are espers you get automatically through gameplay, while 8 others are optional...and difficult to obtain. its helps to have the strategy guide as i do. :P notice: there is a weapon called the Zodiac Spear which is highly annoying on recieving, as you can't open 4 different chests (or chest locations) in the game. Trust me, it's better to have a 150 attack weapon than a few extra potions.

im afriad i didnt keep track which chests i have ate....
so i think its pretty hopeless for me to get the weapon now...
i looked up for some guides, but all of them showed the location, but i have no idea where they are... like Zertinian Caverns or something, i dont know where that is, how do you know? would you just encounter it? what if you miss it?

There are some places in the game where in basic gameplay where you never go to. I think Zertinian Caverns is one of them, same are Nechrol of Nabudis.(Side-quests maybe but just storyline i'm pretty sure no). So basically go whereever you want to, but if there are strong monster it would be best to leave the area i assume.

I could of course be wrong with the places thing, but i like to think i'm far along in the storyline(although not really, just seems like i've been playing it forever and still no progress, whoohoo for marks and sidequests that take you off the storyline for long periods of time)

Also the Zodiac Spear is way cool, doing about 5000, damage each time. Although i figured out that the gun Formalhaut(sp?) does insane damage for when you can get it. You can do 9999 damage to a monster if you equip proper ammo.

I looked at one of the very first chests on the list "the chest outside of Doran (or whatever his name is) home in Lowtown".

But, for what it's worth, I've read on the Gamefaq boards that there are better weapons than the spear, such as the final katana, since spears have a VERY low multiple hit chance, while a Katana has a fairly high chance and can eventually hit for max damage about 12 times (which is much better than the Zodiac Spear's occasional 4, if you're lucky).

As far as Espers go, I've heard they're pretty useless in battle, and that's one of the major complaints with the game. I haven't used on myself, so I don't have much of a comment on them (I'm afraid to equip them to anyone in fear of regretting giving to the the said person later. xD).

I've collected 2 of the Story Espers and encountered one of the optional Espers (and got my butt kicked. x_x)

So, in short: Zodiac Spear not completely worth it, though it's strong. And Espers look really cool, but eventually become obsolete (not sure if that's later in the game, or from the beginning).

I've tried my hand at a bunch of the option stuff, but I get taken down easily wherever I happen to go. D: I thought the sewers under Lowtown would be simple, but those monsters are pretty nasty. Well, I had to go there to fight White Mousse (one of the marks).

There's probably some on Gamefaqs.com. I'd link you to some, but I'm trying to do an unspoilered run first (and I don't trust myself, since I already looked at the Zodiac Spear, though, to be honest, it's something I would only strive for so I could have completion.) I probably won't accomplish much doing that, since some things are so obscure, but guess I'll have a lot to do in a second playthrough, maybe. x)

I just got one more from the Zertinan Caverns (well, it's the only optional I have right now). MY characters are about:

Vaan - 46
Balthier - 45
Fran - 38
Basch - 41
Ashe - 40
Panelo - 41

Vaan is only so high because I got an Embroidered Tippet from a Coeurl which gives you Doube EXP. Eventually you'll be able to buy them anyway.
