If I didn't wear my contacts, I could see about 2 inches in front of my face.

My eyesight is pretty bad. I'm legally blind (or so said the optical assistant...) without my contacts. -6.5 in the left, -5.75 + slight astigmatism in the right.

I wore glasses from the time I was 8 until I was 13, and since I've been wearing contacts (so for nearly 12 years). I can't wear glasses anymore, not for more than 30 minutes or so, because they really, really hurt me.

Um...

You should have added the option "I should wear glasses but am too lazy to".

Yeah, I'm supposed to wear glasses because I'm long sighted which means I can see long distances but find it hard to see short distance. And it also gives me headache when I strain my eyes trying to look at something in front of me. Why do I put myself through this misery?! I'm...weird ;)

I have glasses. I feel like they make me look overweight. Which I am, but I feel even more so with glasses on.

Currently wear glasses, but it's not PPT's fault. It's my dad's, for having that hereditary astigmatism.

Ooh, big words. ^^

Since when does computer use give you bad eyesight?

I have terrible eyesight, but have since way before I started going online. I can see fine, if what I'm looking at is within 2 and a half feet of my head, after that it all starts getting blurry. I've had glasses since I was 14, and wouldn't mind having contacts, but those cost money I don't have, and a hassle I'm too lazy for.

For the record, my eyes haven't gotten worse since I became a net-geek. According to my optomitrist, they've actually gotten better ;P (But that's not because of the computer anyway, that's because they were expected to as I got older).

Hmm..well I have had glasses since 2nd grade but in 6th I got contacts, around Christmastime. For only being 13, I have really bad eyes; -5.5 I think.

I'm a little far-sighted (I love being far-sighted, as most people are near-sighted and it makes me feel so special =P) but I don't need glasses. I might in a few years though...

I'm wearing frameless glasses. I might get contacts, since I run track.

What's funny is, I used to have 15/20 vision some 2 years back. :(

Actually, your monitor flickers. You can't see it, but it does. After awhile, it damages your eyes. There's also the effect of eyestrain. I probably got my glasses from a combo of internet and reading a lot.

Since you had glasses way before becoming a 'net-geek', your eyesight is probably due to genetics.
