Umm, Lost Desert plot will be done before November, right?

I'm somewhat considering it, but I probably won't do it. I'm a terrible writer. I can usual come up with a decent cast of characters, but an actual plot is beyond my abilities. Plus, I currenlty have a 1000+ page RP in the works with my husband that shall be revamped into a fanfic that is sucking out what little creativity I have.

Then again...I could use the opportunity to write what I see happening in the sequel we're planning...Ooo, there's an idea. Although I'm assuming fanfiction would be a bit faux pas.

That's the great thing about NaNoWriMo. Plot and content don't really matter. :) The whole purpose is to prove to yourself that you can write a story containing 50,000 words in one month, no matter the quality. You can always go back and touch it up later, or ditch it and, now that you've proven to yourself you can do it, give yourself better goals or try it with a cohesive plot or whatnot. :)

Nanowrimo! I totally forgot.

*thinks* I'll have to come up with some sort of story idea.

(Cassi, I'm the same as you :P)

And 50,000 words is quite a lot to be writing out, my hand'll get rather sore. :P

(Glad I'm not the only one. :P)

I write mine during school by hand, because when I'm home I get lazy and go on PPT, usually. Then I type up whatever I did that day. ^_^

Well, I'll look at it this way. The story I'm writing now (which I've been working on for a couple of weeks) is already over 11,000 words. I have no doubt it'll be over 50,000 words by the time I finish (I haven't even managed to get my characters past dinnertime on the first day yet). However, I prefer not to rush myself. I prefer quality over quantity, so Nanowrimo's not for me =P

I'm so excited for Nano! I've been planning to do it ever since I heard about it last November. I even sort of have a plot. The only issue is that the final two weeks of the play are the first two weeks of November, so that'll be difficult. I have a whole bunch of friends, both online and off, planning to write as well, so we'll all be supporting each other. Besides (hopefully) being fun, I'm going to put it on my high school applications if I finish.

I can't wait! Signups start in less than a week :D

I agree with you. I think I'll just write my own novel gradually without any rushing. I can't really write when I'm rushed anyways. And I don't really want my stories to go public. The process seems too difficult anyways (I'm too tired and lazy to read the instructions).

It's not for me. I'm already too busy as is too. Maybe next year I'll join next clubs and try for it. Or perhaps when I finish education. (in 7 years or so)

I think I just may try to do this Nanowrimo thing, unlike last year. I don't know if I'll be able to get 50,000 words though, I might be busy with school and college stuff. :(

Just to clarify (since you've said Nanowrimo isn't for you for other reasons, as well) -- while some participants do make some or all of their work public, that is not a requirement (or even a part) of Nanowrimo.
