Then again I always have a hard time feeling that much compassions for things like these, people die of more horrible things than we can ever imagine every second all around the world and suddenly it's all about one single thing (take the terrorist attack in NY for example).

Let's hear you say that when your country gets bombed. And I can't really think of many ways to die that are more horrible than blowing up.

Anyway, what happened was a horrible thing. As someone said to an IM to me this morning, "Terrorism sucks". My condolences to the families of the people who died (from what I hear it's not many, which is good).

The death toll is now near 40, according to some websites.

My condolences to the familes involved.

My prayers go out to everyone involved with this. Terrorism is an awful thing.

This seems to be something like the Madrid train bombings.

Here's some things from an article I read-

Quote:
In the new statement, the group said “the heroic mujahedeen carried out a blessed attack in London, and now Britain is burning with fear and terror, from north to south, east to west.”

Quote:
“Rejoice, Islamic nation. Rejoice, Arab world. The time has come for vengeance against the Zionist crusader government of Britain in response to the massacres Britain committed in Iraq and Afghanistan,” said the statement, translated by The Associated Press in Cairo. The AP was unable to access the Web site where it was posted, which was closed quickly after the reports.

Quote:
“We warned the British government and the British people repeatedly. We have carried out our promise and carried out a military attack in Britain after great efforts by the heroic mujahedeen over a long period to ensure its success.”

“We continue to warn the governments of Denmark and Italy and all crusader governments that they will receive the same punishment if they do not withdraw their troops from Iraq and Afghanistan,” the statement went on.

It was signed “The Secret Organization of al-Qaida in Europe.”

Ugg... these terrorists sicken me. :(

oh please, everything is Al'qaeda.

Al'Qaeda admit to attacks that we know they could possibly have commited, but they do it anyway.
still, is a good way to annoy the troops still at home i guess.

I've felt really sick since I found out about this today, it doesn't seem real. My aunt and uncle were there last week for Live 8, my boyfriend's little sister was there just a few days ago. Seeing the streets of London empty is like something out of a film. It was a group claiming links to Al-Queda who have claimed responsibilty which is of course highly likely given the number of close calls that have been reported.

From what I saw on the news it looks like the emergency services were very prepared from their practise runs and are doing an amazing job. It's so unreal, yesterday the city was on top of the world with the Olympics and what not and all eyes were turned up here in Scotland instead for the G8.

I am hopeful that this will not turn people against muslims or any innocent parties, in fact I am confident of that. The muslim communities were of course quick to condemn the attacks along with everyone else. Fanatics may do things in the name of religion but they don't represent the majority of peaceful religious people and I think most people here understand that.

My thoughts are with those affected by these senseless attacks.

There is....Nothing I can say to express how I feel about these people.

I can't help but think about the people who died, who just stepped out their doors this morning, said goodbye to their families, with no clue what was going to happen. It's horrible.

I'm really scared now. I'm supossed to be going to London on holiday next week. We're arriving in Kings Cross Station, which was bombed, and our hotel is the travel inn just next to the Kings Cross Station.I don't think we'll be going anymore. I hope we're not. But that's awful. 6 bombs on the trains and a bomb on a bus. That sickens me.

:( I really, really feel sickened by this act. Why must people do these, to ordinary people, with ordinary lives, just an ordinary day. It must have been a horrible and extremely frightning ordeal to live through. I feel scared, I live in the South, but you can't help it.

:( Why must people kill other humans?

 What's the point?

I've spent the past hour trying to figure out what to write here, but I haven't really come up with anything that sounded appropriate.

I'm just really sick of all this killing.

And I really don't understand this. If this is against G8, or something, what? Why? G8 is about poverty in Africa!

But then again. Since when has murder been understandable?

can't find the sig from this set, so instead, you get a <3 .

when the needs of the many have outweighed the needs of the few.

mind you, this attack is a little random, doesnt strike me as the work of an "organised" terrorist group.
