Butterflyhornet wrote:Ok this isn't really a stupid neomail or anything like the other ones. I actually quite appriciate the thought that people have for me and my like for ruki pets.

But people tend to want me to adopt their painted rukis. I've been offered 3 of them at least.

1 rainbow
1 shadow
and now an island one.

I adopted the shadow one and I may adopt the island one too, but the problem is I do not want to get rid of the pets I created to adopt them.

My sister is kind enough for me to displace pets on her accounts but eventually this gets kind of crazy.

After this island ruki (if I get it) I think I'm going to have to say, thanks for the thought guys :) But no more please.

If you still feel the need to give me something maybe a paint brush or morphing potion instead ;)

Butterflyhornet, that is really weird. People asking you to adopt their painted rukis. You must be known as the ruki lover of all of Neopia, eh? Is it because of your beauty contest entries?

That and I think it is because I advertise on the beauty contest board and have my neohtml occasionally say "The Ruki Artist" and I have openly said that is my favorite species.

So I guess people know me for my ruki art, like another user is known for her awsome buzz drawings. I wonder if she gets offers to adopt people's buzzes?

So far it seems to be people who chat fairly regularly in the BC board that are the ones offering me the rukis.

The last one was one of my deviant art friends who said that another user is about to give up their ruki so she was seeing if I was interested. I asked her to have the person neomail me.

Psst Morningstar... I realised that posting weird neomails on PPT tends to garner you even more weird neomails. This happened to me before; I posted a weird neomail here and a PPTer sent me a even weirder neomail to see whether or not I will parade it on PPT. :P

Somehow methinks a practical joker is after you, with a high chance of being from PPT. ;)

is there anything you would want in return for your tyranian paint brush i am looking for one as a gift for my friend (deleted) check her kougra if you dont beleive me and im not begging

Nothing that interesting about this one, expect for one little detail ...I love it when people say "lookup this person/pet if you don't believe me".

Anyone know why they think looking up a person or a pet would prove anything?

Hehe I remember once I had a very common morphing potion in my shop, and I got this neomail from someone who told me I should take it out of my shop a.s.a.p!!! because it is an unbuyable!!
I double-checked the shopwiz again where it was sold for about 20k I believe, so I mailed this back. Then the person replied again that I was mistaken and that I should reaaally raise the price for this item.
I can imagine people want me to sell stuff too cheap, but I never understood why he wanted me to sell stuff too expensive

He was just looking out for your best interest. :P

Maybe he had the same potion and wanted to get you to sell your's at a higher price so that his could get bought sooner...*is just throwing ideas out*

Wish I'd get Neomails like this...of course, I keep a very low profile on Neopets, namely because I just do dailies and check in on the Neopian Times, than going to the boards or posting here.

Having any type of highly coveted item in your shop makes you 1247891274 times more likely to get annoying neomails.

I've gotten quite a few neomails about "can I have one of your paint brushes? I'll do _______(insert random thing here)."

Yeah it's probably what is in your shop, people get very jealous/hopeful/greedy about things like that. When I was selling off my petpet collection I sold them in little groups through my shop to try and deflect attention though I still had to cope with many nf requests every day and neomails asking me to lower my prices (usually to something ridiculous).

Now I'm back to selling my ordinary stuff day by day and I don't get nearly as much neomail or nf requests. Kinda makes it obvious that some people just go around trying to get pally with people they think are "rich", it's even more funny when I'm really not neo-rich at all!

Or if you get on the high scores on a certain game.

You may get a few neomails asking how you scored so high.

One of my oddest was when I was the top person in the high scores of Feed Florg.

Someone wanted me to play it on their account so they could have a high score. Would I really want to risk my account to ask for their password so I could play on their account? Sorry about this :loser: but I don't think so. Sorry.

No I didn't reply to that one.

I get a few every so often. Pretty much whenever I get in the top 10 of a game or when I feed a Kad (which now is sooooo rare) And because I'm the leader of a very large guild. The wierdest one was someone who gave me 5 codestones and asked for a bottle fairy (sp?) in return. Since then I've blocked gifts from strangers. But other then that, not many people bug me :P

Thu Jul 07, 2005 12:52 am

  • "If you go to --BLOCKED-- (no spaces) then you can use the lab free! No map needed!"
  • "Can you get a Krawk for me? I'll give you my P/W but no stealing."
  • "You're so good at Petpet Rescue, can you get the avatar for me?"
  • (After telling them I couldn't afford a FQD) .... "Can you afford it? I'll give you one million NP!" .... (I told them FQDs were worth 1.6 millon) .... "Okay I'll give you that much then! Please!"

The last was the weirdest. o_o If they had the money, why didn't they buy the doll themself?
Note that these are rough transulations, I'm getting better at decoding chatspeak. =D

Butterflyhornet, do I know you on another forum? :cough:nBn:cough: (PS: Sorry if you're not supposed to mention other forums on here.)

Zenial, I got one of those a while back. Some guy telling me that the Lord Kass plushie I had on the TP was too low-priced. He had the nerve to tell me that we should all raise our prices to at least a million. My guess is that he was an over-inflater and once "we" all raised our prices, he would undercut us so his would sell and ours would sit. Needless to say, I didn't go for it.

Well, this was on a secondary account of mine that no one (outside of my family) knows I have. No one. I have never posted its name anywhere--not my guild, not here on PPT. I do think I was being "played," however. The username had the word "playa" in it. And, he sent me another neomail after the first one saying that he really wanted to be my "friend." My guess is that the guy was after my goods. He saw that I had nice stuff in my shop and on the TP and wanted it--and thought a bit of sweet talking would do it. Ha, little does he know that I am in my 40's and don't really want the hassles involved with having a 17 year old "Neo-boyfriend."

Perhaps, I should tell him that if he wants to be my Neo-boyfriend, he should buy me a big diamond ring first. To prove his devotion. :P

Right....that's what? The 50th time now that I've been mistaken as JenesisX, the owner of Bizmarc >_o;

Somehow just having the link to her super-helpful pet's page in my shop makes people automatically assume that I'M her.

Oi vey, the logic there is staggering...
I don't have her account, I don't have her main account's name and I don't own the pet named Bizmarc!

Maybe you should disable your neomail. :P Very odd, indeed.

The weirdest neomail I've ever gotten is after I made a mass donation to the Money Tree to clean out my SDB. I got a neomail less than 30 minutes afterwards that was completely in French. o____o
