Tap water's not full of prozac you numpty.

I drink a fair bit of it and I'm a miserable sod ;)
I don't have a problem with tap water. Got some minerals and bits of metal in, but nothing that bad.

Here's a bit of fact. We did an experiement in Biology looking for coliforms in water. Water from the tap had less coliforms (the stuff that makes e-coli) than stuff we got out of the water cooler in the staffroom. Hurrah.

I boil water. It gets rid of any stuff my Brita doesn't get out.

When did everyone get so paranoid about tap water?

Christ, it's one of the reasons people get ill so easily. So sanitised.

Well. Being able to smell chlorine in my old tap water got me a bit paranoid.

Besides, it tastes icky! =P

Just drink it people. It'll be alright, you're gonna live. I drink tap all the time, no filter on the faucet, and I'm still living.

Depends on where you live. Tap water in some places is unsafe for consumption. You may be still living, but may experience health problems in the long run.

I use a Brita filter for my water, always tastes the same to me.
As for school water fountains...now THAT is a whole different story...they always taste gross to me for some reason, which is why i rarely ever drink from school fountains.

Because up where we have our holiday house, there was a period of about 5-6 years when we couldn't drink the tap water?

*shrug* It's passed, but I know people up there who still have filters for their water.

For those wondering about the validity of the Prozac thing:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/3545684.stm

Now, I will highlight one thing:
The exact amount of Prozac in the nation's drinking water is not known.

And I highly doubt it's a third of a dose per glass. That's absurd.

I personally prefer the taste of my local tap water over bottled water. Though on occasion I will buy bottled water if I'm out and about and suddenly get thirsty for water. Which isn't that likely. Usually I get thirsty for stuff like Mountain Dew.

There are certain places where the tap water tastes awful. Southern Illinois for example. It's just a hop away from me (I could walk there if I wanted to). But the water is gross there. Dunno what they do to it.
Central Florida water wasn't very nice either, if my memory serves correct.
I don't really care what's in the water. I can get filtered water from my refridgerator's ice panel thingy thing.. thing (what do you call those things anyway?) but I usually choose not to. I like my tap water.
Also, water from the bathroom always tastes better than kitchen water.

Well, I must say that my tap water tastes really good. Scottish tap water is among some of the cleanest in the whole world! We have tonnes of stuff in our water, but it's good stuff. So our water is totally safe. And the border with English border with us and the just below that gets good water there too. So lets all raise a glass of Tap Water to Scotland (and her surrounding areas)!

In Canada the whole ecolie, Walkerton water scandal thing, probably helped make people paranoid.
Here on res, if you live in the Towers, during spring with the run off the water turns a kinda reddish brown... because of all the crud in the water. Really safe hey?
*shakes head*
But the pipes are new where I live, so it's allright.
The water at my farm is natural water from a spring on my land, but it's got sulphur in it; so if it's not used for awhile, it can build up and smell a bit. It doesn't taste as good as city water.
*shrug*
I drink tap water all the time, and i'm still alive. But then again, it's going to take a nucleur bomb to kill me off.
