Spira Mirabilis (my original sn) came from a song in Revolutionary Girl Utena (my favourite Anime series). After asking some friends who took latin, we think it means "marvelous coil." I kept spira because I like the way it sounds. I've always loved the name Lethe. It was my name in Ancient Greek class. It's the river of oblivion in Tarturus (the underworld) where the dead drank to forget the past lives.

My username is German, obscure and has more than one meaning and it sounds nice (pronounced: sha-den-froid-a). I'm not sure as to how I actually came across it, but it's grew on me and well I guess it kind of fits.
I could have all ways called myself Lachenaufkomischsnichtspassheit which means "laughing at something you know is not funny", but I think it's a tad too long.

My username is my middle name, which means lucky and beautiful in Chinese or something like that. Anyways, being the uncreative person I am I first used that for my email account and then just kept using it for many other sites.

The only meaning I know is "paradoxical satisfaction from enduring pain"... that's because that one's assimilating into English.
Both my parents speak near-fluent German, though (my dad grew up in Allied-occupied Germany - yes he is old - and Mom's parents were into globetrotting). So I do at least have a good sense of how Germans make compound words at the drop of a pin.

It goes back to my lurker days. Jim was wataguy, and I thought it was pretty unique. So when I decided to sign up, I sort of copied him.
I was just_another_guy, which changed to JAG. That confused people to think that I liked the show, or something to do with a Judge Advocate General.
Then I had my short obsession with Origami. I came up with Origami Anomaly. That obsession with Origami soon ended. I decided to go back to my old name, but I wanted to make it a tad more unique.
Here I am now.

ahoteinrun is my name on neo; and a name i've used before over my MSN and whatnot.
Ahote Inrun was a war horse for some native american chief, i'm horrible because I can't remember why; but I saw a painting for this horse, and it was pretty darn cool. A grullo (mouse grey) paint horse. Very interesting.
I changed my name briefly to Black_app for awhile; short for black appaloosa which was my set at the time; then back to ahoteinrun, then to Broken_Jaw, because someone nearly broke my jaw with a 30 lb text book. Then to Inrun because I found out people couldn't spell my name which made me pretty darn mad....
then I just gave up and went back to ahoteinrun.

I used to like Kairi from Kingdom Hearts a lot, but I can't change my username anymore. You know, Kairi is a cool name, but I'd just rather have it at Katsuya or Maleficent right now.

Well.
I started off with angel__23 the very first time I signed up back in June '03 because it was my Neopets name...23 is my lucky number, and angel because my personality was the very opposite.
Then, I changed to Angel__23 for grammatical correctness (XD), and then to .:Angel__23:. since the 'lets-all-decorate-our-usernames-with-punctuation-marks' craze was at its higest (well, I can't talk actually, I still use [ and ] around my username >_>...).
Then I changed to Dreamcatcher because I was getting sick of Angel__23, primarily because I was extremely interested in the whole concept of dreams and suchlike, and I made Marissa make me a gorgeous set for the username, which I used around the time when I had 800 posts...then Christmas came, and I changed my username to Snowcatcher because I couldn't think of anything better (got an awesome set for that username too)...and then I left PPT for a while.
When I came back in mid-January, I discovered that Christmas had passed and I needed to change my username again (well not necessarily, but I thought it might be a good idea for the spring), so I changed it to just 'Angel' after pondering about a variety of options...and God knows what possessed me to not just change it back to Dreamcatcher, I know...
I went from Angel to .:Angel:. to ((Angel)) to [Angel] to [angel].
And there you have it.
(And as soon as the hack's installed, I'll be changing back to Dreamcatcher.)
