5: the doomsday machine: sonic 3 & sonic and knuckles.
it took me months to get this git (plug sonic 3 into sonic and knuckles, play through as sonic collecting all the emeralds.. twice!)
i was damned well going to enjoy blatting those missles and collecting those rings, only to get in there and smash robotnik a good one!
4:the Vorsoth overmind: star trek voyager: elite force.
"mwahahahah die ummie!"
"know what? dont wanna!"
*cue a qauter hour battle as i fire about a hundred mini torpedoes, and fire enough electrical discharges to weld two starships together from prow to stern!
3:The Primagen: Turok 2.
it took me ages.
that insect queen, the big whippy dude, probably other bosses too.
but finally i get to the big man himself.
cue a half hour battle as i fire all-but ineffectively at a flying nutter, throwing high-yield explosives at me.
eventually he dies and i rejoice!
i sit through the credits -its the least i can do for such a great game- and then a disturbing voice proclaims
"Beware, for oblivian is at hand!"
imagine my dissapointment when i get to Turok 3 (though tht ending was cool too -those head dudes plotting to get the fireseed family killed-)
now imagine my irritation when the next game is back story, and not continuation
2:Omega pirate: Metroid prime. (hard difficulty)
i walk into a great chamber, ive been hearing about this "omega pirate" for some time now, bring im on i loudly proclaim!
then.. i see him.
about ten times my size, his CLAWS are bigger than me, not to mention the two plasma artillery cannons!
then he wakes, and proceeds to beat me to death.
many. many times.
eventually i get the better of him -having lost all but 50 of my 1300 health!
despite the agony, despite the pain of the Power troopers jumping in and ruining me up alongside mr big claws, despite the fact that i lost many hours of sleep trying to get that one super missle in that would ensure my victory..
i LOVE this epic battle.
well, four is all i could think of, there is probably one that ranks higher than the Omega pirate but nothing comes to mind.
